Across the road from the hotel where we stayed, we were a little hesitant about this but was an excellent decision. The restaurant is clean and tidy, service friendly and quick and the food was outstanding. We had the Chinese dishes as in my experience its best to stay with Chinese in Chinese restaurants (rather than Thai or Malaysian). Was probably the nicest Chinese I have had in years. The satay chicken was especially good. Couldn't fault a thing.

We arrived un-booked with a group of five for lunch, but arrangements were rapidly made to accommodate us. We chose to sit indoors because it was starting to spit, and the AC made for comfortable temperatures on a warm summer's day.
The waitress obviously had no idea about gluten-free options but a more mature lady soon emerged from the kitchen and it suddenly became easy.
Service was prompt and efficient and every-one thoroughly enjoyed their meals. (I had prawns and chorizo, very tasty and the prawns tasted like coastal prawns, and the chef had made a gluten-free version for me.) Wine by the glass was a welcome option at lunch time.
It is some considerable time since I last visited the Quarry, but my memories did not do it justice. The restaurant proceeded to rapidly fill as we enjoyed out meals.

****** BUSINESS CHANGED OWNERSHIP 22/5/2013 ******Located on the Cnr Borrowa Rd and Forbes/Young Rd
A popular spot because of its position at the confluence of highways, and because of their good food. Menu is about burgers, sandwiches, fish & chips, toasted fingers and such-like, but always tasty. Ordering is at the counter in a single queue which is usually a slow process, but the service is otherwise quick considering the numbers. Gluten-free is very limited.
It is conveniently located opposite the extensive rose Gardens, next to the Tourist Information Centre and among several public toilets all on the one corner (Take your pick or try them all!)

Peregrines Brasserie is the ideal way to enjoy a delicious family meal, a quick bite to eat or even a relaxing coffee with friends. With a full menu board on offer, all at an affordable price. So if it's a light salad you crave or even a delicious scotch fillet Peregrine's Brasserie can cater for your every need.
A needed to spend a night in Cowra and visited the Services Club for a drink. Tidy, clean and offering many facilities, I had a couple of beers and left. I believe they have a bistro for cooked meals. If you like clubs it would be good, although I find bars more friendly for casual visitors. Located next door to the Services Club Motel it is a convenient place to visit for a drink and meal, just not for me.

Lot 31 Bar and Restaurant has moved across the road to the Imperial Hotel. Please don't be put off - you can enter the restaurant without going into the bar in case you are nervous about this. The menu had plenty of choices although desserts were limited to 4 choices - but that was all that was needed, we were pretty full by that stage! My Cowra lamb was perfect, juicy, falling off the bone, well supported by good fresh vegetables. A big meal. My husband's Wagyu steak - his first ever - was cooked to perfection, and was delicious. The staff were knowledgeable about the wine list and gave good advice about options. Almost all wines are available by the glass, including sparkling. There are local Cowra wines on offer here which is a nice way of tasting something new. The restaurant offers a bistro service for the Hotel but this in no way detracts from the quality of the food, the speed and efficiency of service. The staff were excellent, professional and friendly. We had a wonderful meal here to end our holiday. We would definitely return.

We enjoyed lunch in this popular cafe in Cowra. The outside Seating area under a vine is lovely and the food lived up to the setting. My chilli beef and onion wrap was very flavoursome and the zucchini and dill fritters with smoked salmon were delicious. Great coffee too. Off the main drag but well worth seeking out.

I suppose, if you've already seen the garden, you could come here for a meal to enjoy the garden from the Terrace without paying. I stopped in afterwards just for an iced coffee and it was extravagant - good coffee flavour with no bitterness, a mountain of ice cream and a mountain of cream and chocolate.

The Oxley is a retro-styled boutique venue, offering a huge selection of fine wines and craft beers, main meals, gourmet pizzas, share platters and desserts, as well as freshly ground coffee and delicious breakfasts and lunches. Regional produce is sourced and used extensively on their menu and wine list. The Oxley also hosts live music, with many local and touring artists featured.
We made our first visit to the new premises after enjoying the Cowra Christmas market with good memories of the previous location. The pizzas are as good, the wine options still great and staff still as friendly but we felt that the previous ‘quirky’ feel of the wine bar had been lost. Before it seemed to have a more low-key relaxed atmosphere whilst this new one seems more cafeteria.
The musician that night was Andy Nelson who was excellent and we will still call in for the pizzas and wines.

Warned confit of duck. Didn't have any.
Ordered steak(medium rare) was well done.
Ordered salmon( medium) got well done.
Salad with steak wasgrated carrot and some green leaves with baLsmic vinegar. Too much vinegar.
Chips were good.
Some oily veges with the salmon.
Overall very disapointed.
Cannot recommend if that's what they can do.
Couldn't go back if it were free.
Yuck.
