-Our dining room offers views of Penn Cove -We have outside dining available on our deck overlooking the water -Our menu changes seasonally and often to offer the freshest, local ingredients -We have a limited bar, as well as an excellent wine and beer list -Our open kitchen provides a one of a kind experience for diners
The Oystercatcher has gone through various owners over the years and today it is enjoying a heyday. Tyler and Sara have smartly limited the menu to a handful of delicious dishes that reflect the season and their creativity. I've never been disappointed with my selections. The soups are wonderful but the place has become famous for its fabulous bread. It is the perfect time to forget about carbs when you sink your teeth into that cool, soft, heavenly slice of house made bread.
The sorbets which are served between courses at dinner are also swoon worthy. The place is small so reservations are best- especially on a weekend.

The ice cream here is unfortunately amazing. As soon as we walked in, the owner was spewing comments to us about how we couldn’t bring our dog in when we didn’t even have her in the door. There are signs everywhere essentially barking orders at people. I can’t believe how rude this guy was. I don’t care is this is the only ice cream in town - I’m not patronizing this business again. #icecreamnazi

Northwest cuisine featuring local seafood, produce, and Washington wines. Gluten free options and kids menus available. Reservations recommended. We are closed on Tuesdays.
Lunch here was excellent. Had linguine with mussels. The garlic, cream alfredo was just what was needed to set off the steamed shellfish. The pasta was al dente. Perfect. And the mussels were plentiful. The surprise was that we were not looking for such an expertly done dish in the middle of town, in the middle of the island, for lunch. Service was excellent. The only thing holding me back from giving this a five star is the ambience. It was a little too stark industrial. The food was delicious. If that is what matters, then this is the place.

We arrived early on a Friday morning after camping at Fort Ebey state park. We got there at 8:30, a half hour before opening. We walked the street looking in stores until they opened, on time. We were seated immediately. Three other couples were also seated immediately. Service was great. The menu has a good variety of scrambles but it's not a huge menu. My wife had the ham and cheese scramble and I had the salmon. Both were outstanding. The bread served with the breakfast was very fresh and delicious. Our coffee cups never ran dry and all the while we had great views from our window table looking out over Penn Cove.

Front Street Grill is located on the waterside of Front Street in Coupeville Washington. We have spectacular views of Mt Baker and the Historic Coupeville Wharf.
On a recent visit to Coupeville, we stopped for a yummy lunch at the Front Street Grill.
Our order consisted of San Danielle mussels and Mussels Rockefeller. Both dishes were delicious!
Each dish used local Penn Cove mussels which are always a treat. The San Danielle mussel dish contained just the right blend of ingredients to produce a very flavorful dish of steaming mussels. There was ample broth to soak with crusty bread.
The Mussels Rockefeller was reminiscent of the oyster dish (with the same name), but the mussels gave it a bit more delicacy and again the broth was delicious - with just a hint of cream.
The service was great. Lunch was unhurried. The view was lovely.

It's the perfect place for a cold treat if you're visiting Whidbey Island. Conveniently located right on Highway 20. We will go back again and again!

Having your morning cup of coffee in Oak Harbor at Whidbey Coffee is a great experience. First, the coffee is great, and they have excellent pastries.
You can have coffee inside or out, and the harbor view is great.
I am sure that you will enjoy you visit to Whidbey Coffee in Oak Harbor. I did.

Had no idea when we walked in, but I have a thing for dark bars on waterfronts and looking through window on a rainy afternoon, it looked like a fun place with happy patrons. We wandered in and took a seat by the window overlooking the water. Just MY kinda place! All kinds of goofy stuff on the walls. Locals dining in booths and super friendly folks behind the bar. It's the CHEERS bar atmostphere only darker and older! Cynthia served us and we just wanted to invite her to sit with us. She was great. Has some super oyster shooters. Wife had a huge bowl of mussels and dipping bread. I started with great cup of chunky mussel chowder then was still hungry and there were so many things on their menu but crazily I ordered their special EGG SALAD SANDWICH! I have never ordered that in a restaurant in my life. I'm picky and I don't trust anyone but me or my wife to make one! (I'm a goof!), But this sounded so good on fresh sourdough so I ordered it and it was one of the best sandwiches EVER!!! Huge and messy and so awesome! Best I ever had. The portions are huge here! Cynthia you were great. Thanks for the "broken cookie" too! We're from Mexico and visiting on business so I hope we get to come back soon!

After reading all the reviews stating how wonderful this place was, and how fantastic the food was, we decided to try Frasers Gormet Hideaway. The restaurant is easy to find, nicely decorated, and the wait staff amenable and accommodating. However, the food was not up to par. We started off with the fresh ahi poke, which was delicious, fresh tuna cut in cubes, and unfortunately drowned in soy sauce. It should have been served sashimi style so the salt in the soy wouldn't overpower the fish. We shared an excellent salad (pears, candied walnuts/pecans?, beautiful fresh greens, and tasty dressing) which was just right for us. A single serving would have been way too big. My husband ordered the pork chop, and I treated myself to the surf and turf. The presentation of the pork chop was beautiful, but it was entirely too much food and was overwhelming. It was on a bed of extremely salty mashed potatoes. The chop was huge, with the bone frenched so it extended up about 8 inches. Intimidating dish with tasty chop, but inedible potatoes. My surf and turf was also too much food. There was a funny cream sauce on the mussels that didn't match the scallop and shrimp. The filet mignon was perfectly cooked, but tasted rather mealy. The seafood was extremely fresh, though. The filet was also on a bed of very over-salted mashed potatoes. Both the chop and the filet were drenched in sauce, which was quite a bit too much. So negative review for serving sizes, too much salt, ruining fresh tuna, and flooding the plates with sauce, and for mealy filet. Was fairly reasonable in price, but as we couldn't finish our food because the serving sizes were so large (and didn't want to take leftovers to hotel) we didn't get our money's worth. Had just come off a Holland America cruise to Alaska, where every dinner in the dining room surpassed what was served at Frasers.
