Cortland is a city in Trumbull County, Ohio, United States located on the eastern shore of Mosquito Creek Reservoir. Walnut Run is the creek that runs through town. The population was 7,104 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Youngstown-Warren-Boardman, OH-PA Metropolitan Statistical Area. Cortland became a village in 1874 with the construction of a railroad depot. It became a city in 1980 when its population exceeded 5,000 people.

Cortland has by far the best DQ in the area better then Howland's or Vienna's. They make the best blizzards period.

I came up with an idea of how to get families and church people together. To show that we like football, baseball, basketball just like anyone else, just because your a Christian doesn't make you a foreigner, so I invited our after school program families to come and have wings, water, tea, and pop provided, of they wanted to drink okay, but on their dollar everything else was on me. Turned out great!!! Staff was awesome and we were the loudest.. Go figure right lol it was fantastic. Thanks Lake Tavern for allowing us to use your facilities. I will be forever grateful. ...Meh. Our table ordered two different pizzas, both with extra cheese, pepperoni and a third topping. If that was extra cheese and pepperoni I'd hate to see what it looked like without the "extra". No one hought much of the pizzas. Everyone said the same thing...meh...okay...mediocre at best. The sauce was too sour and the dough was absolutely tasteless. We gave it a 7 out of 10.
I visit this part of Ohio often and have yet to find a good place for dinner. Even the places with the rave reviews leave us flat. Guess it is what you are accustomed to which is why I said have no doubt that Brothers Pizza is the best that the town offers. Pleasing the local clientele is what matters, not the visitors. It was busy and our waitress was great...except when she referred to us as "you guys".
This was our second attempt to find good puza in this area. We will try one more place before giving up for good.

Some things good and a decent amount for the money. Other items...not so much. The Friday fish special? FORGET IT! I had a pound of breading on my p,ate just looking for the sliver of fish that was hidden. This fish is NOT hand breaded here but comes in frozen. After the fish was sliced down tomthe thick ess of paper, of course.

Our friends took us to the Country Porch for the total experience. We celebrated a birthday and had a group of 11. The staff was wonderful. We ate outside in the patio area and the service was great. We of course enjoyed the wine but also shared many of the other offerings. Pizza, chips, veggies, specialty dips, salads, burgers and the special deal of the day - Mexican corn on the cob. We passed on the post meal sweets. All available to individuals and groups.
There is indoor and outdoor eating. By the time we left there were couples enjoying nice intimate dinners and other large groups enjoying their friends.
Check Country Porch out - I believe you'll love.it.

I come here for the French toast.....for dinner! :) It comes with cream cheese and whipped cream and your choice of warm apples and Carmel, or....strawberry. The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere very inviting, the portions very generous and the pricing very very good! Make the trip to this little corner of Cortland. You will have NO REGRETS!!!

Had breakfast on Saturday and Sunday just recently at Monty's Restaurant in West Mecca, Ohio near Mosquito Lake in Northeast Ohio..... Wonderfully superb Sausage Gravy & Biscuits with 2 eggs sunny side up on Saturday. Sunday was 2 eggs over easy with crispy hash browns, bacon nd wheat toast .... Service by Mary was excellent even with a packed house....
If you're passing thru the area, don't miss this little jewel near the lake!

Greene Eagle is a charming winery located just north of Cortland. They offer sandwiches, pizza & salad... with delicious wine. They have great entertainment on Fridays & Saturdays. Get there early, the Cape Cod fills up fast. In the the winter there is always a cozy fire. In the summer, the outside patio is nice. Sunday afternoons are one of my favorite times to visit with friends...sit by the fire & visit.

Rarely does a visit home to this area go by without a visit to Pizza Joe's for pizza to go. It is pizza that everyone likes. They have great veggie pizza too, so I suggest trying it out. It is a great stop to feed the family.

Went here for dinner when back in Ohio. Good food and plenty to eat. Menu is a little odd but figured it out. Had a enchilada combo and it was good and filling. Others seemed to like the food as well. Nice to see a place like this in Cortland. Not a place to be expected but good.
