Poppleton Bakery and Cafe is Corning's scratch bakery. Offering a wide variety of fresh baked pastries, cakes, and desserts, as well as bubble tea, sweet and savory crepes, salads, soups, and quiche, there is always something for everyone. Top quality products are always used and customer service is a top priority!
We tried this little bakery/cafe while visiting Corning today based on the fact that they have gluten-free options. The cafe is small with about 10 (?) tables. It is open for breakfast and lunch. Food is ordered at the counter and then brought to your table. I was pleased to see that they had gluten-free sandwiches, crepes, and quiches, as well as a nice selection of gluten-free desserts. The menu also included salads and soups.
Service was friendly and efficient. I ordered a buckwheat crepe filled with ham, cheddar cheese, and sliced apples. The crepe was topped with a thick drizzle of apple butter mustard and served with a cucumber-dill salad on the side. The portion was generous and the food was delicious. For dessert, we bought gluten-free soft pumpkin cookies that were honestly some of the best cookies (GF or otherwise), that I have ever had.
The bakery is located along Market Street, about a 10 minute walk from the Corning Glass Museum. if visiting the museum, you can either walk to Market Street or take a free shuttle bus. There is also on-street parking along Market Street and other parking options.
I would definitely return to Popppleton's again!

We vacationed in the Finger Lakes region recently for 5 days and were in Corning to see a few things. Eventually we ended up downtown to catch a bite and walk along Market Street. We happened upon Dippity Do Dahs and gave it a try. They had a nice variety of flavors and my wife and I easily found a few to try. We found the prices to be very reasonable, servings were ample, and the ice cream was the best. It's the best ice cream we had, after visiting several other places. Great flavor and amazingly smooth and creamy. I liked their Rum Raisin.

This is our "go-to" coffee place when we are in Corning. The great thing about a locally owned coffee shop is that you can get really well-crafted drinks, but the bad thing is that they can be very inconsistent. After patronizing Soul Full Cup for several years now, I can say that they exhibit the former and never the latter. Consistently great, nice staff, always busy but never a long wait. Something this place does that I wish they all did: they label on their menu board how many shots of espresso are in each drink by default so my first question is always answered!

This is one of my favorite Corning restaurants! The food is wonderful and unique. I ordered Fried Rice the last time I was there...it didn't disappoint! Great flavors and a whole meal in a bowl. They recently added a new wine selection too!!

Two unique dining experiences; choose from our lounge side with bar menu and entrees available or choose the full fine-dining experience in our dining room. Features 40 wines by the glass kept in climate controlled cuvinee system or over 100 by the bottle. We offer gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options on our tapas and entree menus.
Lovely environment, warm attentive waitstaff, delicious food most offered in two sizes, and a chef/owner who not only takes pride in his cooking but also in meeting dietary needs- vegan, gluten free and food allergies. Wish we had this restaurant where we live!! BRAVO!!

We stopped here in Corning. Really great sandwiches and soup. Terrific ice cream. The bakery items looked great although we did not try them.
My husband and I stopped in Corning on our way home from a trip to Vermont and Maine. Corning was our last side trip. We ate at Old World Cafe. We both had 1/2 sandwich and a bowl of soup. My husband had a seafood soup. It was full of seafood and lots of veggies. Delicious! I had the stracciatella soup. It was very good. Our half sandwiches were very generous in size and filled with plenty of chicken salad, mine...yummy! and roast beef, his...very good! It was too chilly to eat ice cream, so we didn't try that. If you are in Corning, definitely stop here for lunch!

I travel 3000 miles to visit friends in Corning and the first thing they suggest doing is visiting Aniello's. What a kick. The guys who work there are a hoot. The setting is fun and the pizza is great. So, what more do you want?

I ordered the salad with pulled pork on top. The salad was disappointing because it contained only bland iceberg lettuce. The pulled pork was dry, though the sauces on the table helped somewhat. My companion had the brisket, which he said was very good. We were happy to be able to get a table behind the TV. I HATE when TV's are blaring in restaurants - it's so intrusive.

A friend and I had dinner at Sorge’s this evening when we arrived in Corning. I had been here once before, for breakfast, but never fo dinner. I had the Chicken Scallopini for dinner. It was served over linguine. The white wine butter sauce was very flavorful. The proportion of chicken, artichoke hearts, prosciutto, and mushrooms was right on. It tasted very fresh, as did the bread we had and the salad. We had some local wine with our dinner, which our waitress was able to tell us all about. She was very friendly and attentive. And she also answered our questions about several other places to dine in Corning. We thoroughly enjoyed the dinner and would certainly recommend it to our friends.

Great family atmosphere. With a variety of gourmet Pizzas, subs, & salads
While on a recent visit to Corning my wife and I walked by Atlas Pizza several times. Each time we walked by I commented about the wonderful aroma of what smelled like bread baking mixed with garlic. For some reason every time we walked by the restaurant it smelled better and better. Finally, we stopped for a pizza.
Now the front of the restaurant only has a few places to sit but I understand there is more room elsewhere. We managed to get seated in the front of the restaurant in the sun so the place was quite warm
OK service was lightning quick and the menu was huge. If you can't find a pizza to your taste you have a problem. My wife and I are on different ends of the spectrum so she ordered a small white pizza and I got a small with normal pepperoni and olives. The small pizza was really decent size and loaded with toppings. The food tasted as good as it smelled!!
The prices were about what I expected and I thought fair for what you got. Can't speak to parking as my wife and I walked all over Corning.
If we get back to Corning we certainly will put Atlas Pizza on our return visit list.
