The rule used to be once you left Southern California, don't go to a Mexican restaurant. Though this may still be mostly true, the Colonial Mexican Restaurant is a welcome exception. Very authentic food: tostadas, tacos, enchiladas, chiles rellenos and good Mexican beers make this one of the best. Combo plates are huge. The margaritas are big too, including one called the fishbowl. Very good cheerful service, food showed up in minutes.

Found this place while passing through. We were not disappointed! Ate in the pub rather than the small restaurant. They serve the full menu and an additional menu at lower prices (for some of the same dishes). Had the prime rib dip with swiss and husband had the pastrami. Both were excellent. The dinner salad was generous with a variety of items (not just iceberg and a tomato slice). Our waitress was also the bar tender and she is one of the most friendly people we met on our trip. Everything about our lunch was great. The restaurant is okay for children but the pub is not.

This is a nice little place. It's a bakery as well as a restaurant . I've only had breakfast here, but it's been good every time. The service is not the best I've had. No refills on coffee, water and wait person seems upset when you ask for something. Food is hot and prepared the way you want it. I'll go here again

Have enjoyed several meals her when passing through Coquille. We especially love the fajitas for two. Chips are very good, portions big. Rice was particularly noteworthy. We usually leave it an other places as it is dry....not so here...we ate it all. Coquille is lucky to have such good Mexican food in town. We eat Mexican food regularly in San Jose and the food at El Tapatio was as good as the best we have tasted.

My Cousin & I were staying at Myrtle Lane Motel next door to Colleen's which is in an old DQ looking building. We decided to try it for breakfast & were surprised to find out it was Mexican food. The breakfast menu has both Mexican and American selections. We went Mexican & had a choice of flour or corn tortillas. My dish was scrambled eggs with shredded beef and home fries, I added salsa and it was great. My cousin had chorizo & eggs with home fries, again great. We had breakfast there 4 more days and did have one "American" breakfast, again great food. Evening meals had a special, always Mexican and always great.
The only downside is the hours. Opens at 9:00AM, closes 7:00PM or so. The owner is a one woman show with serving help at night. In the morning we made the coffee when the pot ran low. The regular clientele are locals who know the area and the routine.
If I'm ever back in Coquille, Colleen's will be on my menu. Stop and enjoy.

Offering fresh deli sandwiches, wraps, burritos, rice bowls, & pizza. Great selection of fresh salsa, beer, & wine.
Always stop by here when we are in town. They have a nice selection of locally grown fruits and vegetables and other locally made products. There is also a small deli located inside that serves up a great hot dog. Located just east of Coquille...MoreThank you for your review of our business! We are very anxious for summer to come to get more of the local produce in. Anxious to see you next time you are in town

It's on Central Ave. (actually old Hwy 42). I stop there for coffee any chance I get. Never been disappointed. The mochas are excellent & prices are better than the other coffee stand in town.

We selected this local 'dive' from Tripadvisor. It was a wonderful breakfast. One pancake is enough at 13" across! The eggs were cooked to order, the bacon crispy as requested. It is obviously a local hangout with a friendly vibe. We haven't tried any meal but breakfast so can't comment to that, but it is a good way to start your day out right.
