Good breakfast spot with nice views, friendly service and really satisfying meals at a reasonable price. It sets the scene for a nice day every time we go to Coogee for a visit. The coffee is not Melbourne standard but it's passable. From eggs, to healthy bowls, the food is substantial and well put together. The type of place that serves people of different ages and cultures equally well.

I chose the cauliflower as my main course even though it's a starter but it was a good sized portion and comprised some of the best flavours I've ever eaten, I wish I knew what went into it so I could do it at home! The sardines to start were also great, lovely tasting as was everything else that we ordered (good steaks, great mash and sauces). The min brownies which came with our coffees were gooey and delicious too, the only downside was that we never made it to experience breakfast! It's a great place!

Located just up the hill away from central beach and a little bit less touristy. Excellent restaurant with all day menu and Mediterranean twist. Excellent service good wine list reasonably priced. Portions large and we shared zucchini pasta and smoked trout flakes. Very good. Service very helful and comforting.cappuccino brilliantly decorated.

Flavour of India is a proud restaurant institution in Sydney, often referred to as the best Indian restaurant in Sydney - our menu captures flavours and cooking styles from every corner of the beautiful continent that is India.
Tripadvisor community, you've failed me for the first time.
# 2 (out of 2000) in all of Sydney in the moderately priced category? You can do better.
Context: 7 Keralite Indians looking forward to a delicious last meal in Sydney but was deeply disappointed.
Service: Hard to enjoy when the staff seem angry and snapping at each other.
Food: Why did the chicken Tikka masala have curry leaf in it but the dishes that are supposed to have it not have any?
We ordered the chicken Tikka masala, butter chicken, Kerala beef, green curry fish, and special Dahl.
I have to be honest: none of the dishes met my expectation for the #2 restaurant in Sydney (out of 2000 ). I wouldn't have placed it even in the top 500.

What a wonderful foodie experience. Each table is given a token, green on one side and red on the other. So long as you want more food, keep the green side up. The friendly and obliging serving staff will then come around with skewers of different barbecued meats, or bowls of salad etc. The meat is fresh off the barbecue, hot, juicy and mouth-watering. A great place for a large group.

Located in the old Coogee Fire Station, the Banana Palm serves up some of the best and most authentic Vietnamese cuisine available in Sydney's east. With the added bonus of being BYO (wine only - not beer) it offers an amazing array of dishes and all at very reasonable prices. Definitely call before to book as it is a very busy place.

Terrible in several respects:
- First time in my life I leave an entire dish (so wasted $19 BTW...): fried eggplants were just not edible; full of oil... I signaled it to the cook who seemed to find this normal and merely said "they would work it out". Well nothing happened (no replacement, no reimbursement, no excuses, n-a-d-a).
- The babaganoush was way too acid (too much vinegar probably). The one from Coles is not worse.
- Houmous was fine; nothing sensational, but at least was edible
- The lamb sausages were completely average; again, one can find similar ones at Coles (!)
Given all this, the price we paid ($90) is just outrageous. In Melbourne a restaurant like this would not survive for long. But even by Sydney's standards, which are not super high, this restaurant is way below the average Lebanese restaurant one can find in the area.
The only plus (and I suspect this is why the restaurant seems to be fairly popular) is the quantities provided: quite generous indeed. But given the poor quality, this is hardly surprising (they compensate for the low quality by increasing the portions...).
Huge disappointment!!!

Battered fish was tasty and freshly prepared, and we had chips with both pieces of fish. For us there were more than enough chips, so if we go back, maybe a single portion of chips would be sufficient.

We enjoyed 2 meals here and were very happy both times.
Breakfast is great with a good selection of breakfast meals.
Healthy Stack is a winner and the Banana pancakes were great.
We had lunch on another occasion and both had salads which were excellent.
Good value.
Friendly & fast service.
