Augustine Casino was recently renovated so my spouse and I decided to check out the lunch buffet and new surroundings.
Honestly, I didn't think much had changed in the casino but we headed straight to the buffet at 11:30 AM.
We have been to many, many buffets and this one is among the very top in our opinion.
The selection was great, Wok Bar,Salad Bar plus additional specialty salads bar, roast meat selection, taco bar, etc. The vegetable egg rolls were fantastic as was everything on my plate. My spouse had prime rib and mashed potatoes which he described as perfect.
Even better is the reasonable price of $10.99 for the lunch buffet, or $9.99 per person with a players card.
Worth the drive.

This place is amazing!! Right away as you walk in you have to walk past and insane amount of cookies, cakes, muffins, and more that make you want to maybe skip eating lunch and just get desert! After you pick your mouth up from wanting to devour all the baked goods you have a varies amount of sandwiches to choose from. All the sandwiches have so many options on them as well and such funny names. You can tell by the names of what your ordering the business has a sense of humor. While your trying to figure out what to eat your assisted by a vary animated man who helps you figure out what you want, any substitutions or requests they are on it. I have a wheat allergy and they offered to make any sandwich a salad or put it on a gluten free bread. There gluten free bread is by far the best bread I have ever had. All the others in my group each had a different home made bread they all said they were the best they have had before. The group that works there you can tell they all love the product and what they do, they were all so nice and helpful and full of energy!! I loved my experience there and would never pass this town and not stop here!

The freshest most delicious ingredients you will find anywhere. Everything I get from this place is outstanding. They take the time to do it right and they are an awesome family bakery not some big grocery chain.

It's probably not that often that you find yourself needing a good lunch place in Coachella, but this last week I did and it was a home run.
It helped that I was very hungry, but even so, this would have been great anytime. I walked in, asked what was good, a guy recommended the torta and I chose al pastor pork. Less than five minutes later, they brought it out to me w/ a Dr. Pepper and chips/salsa. Man, I thought I was in heaven. I polished that torta off in less than 5 minutes it was so good. Even though I spent the next few days in San Diego, I briefly considered driving 2.5 hours back to Coachella just to have another torta. Maybe someday.
Oh, and the total bill -- $6.61!! Are you kidding me? Left a $5 trip. Man, I'd eat here every day if I lived here.

We have eaten at the Palm Desert Pueblo Viejo Grill many times and thought we would give the original place a try. If you go get their early as this place is relatively small and gets packed. This is a testament to the great tasting food they serve. There is adequate parking next to the restaurant. The servers are polite and work with you to help choose the menu item that fits your needs. They have a full service bar and cold beer on tap and in the bottle.

Serving authentic, fine chinese cuisine in the Coachella Valley. The restaurant founders have previously owned Pak Inn Restaurant and Shangri-La Asian Cuisine in the desert as well. The menu is very large with food items from all over China and parts of Asia. Great fresh food at an extremely good value.
Sure the name is funny but the cooking is serious. The food is fresh and doesn't taste like all other Americanized Chinese food. Everything we ate was delicious...hot and sour soup, appetizers, the house lo mein and beef and vegetables were my favorites. Everything is reasonably priced and very good size portions.
HIGHly recommend.
The owner is friendly and funny... Ha Ha.

Great place, I love the Al Pastor, but always have a hard time deciding, Al Pastor, Carnitas, or Lengua. It is the best place I know of and I am usually the non-hispanic there. I think I'd always have the Al Pastor Burrito wet, with tomatillo sauce, because I like it so much, I decided when I don't see it actually on the Gyro machine, I'll try one of the other things I love. When I am dieting I get the Al Pastor on top of salad with tomatillo Salsa. I can't find a place that is better, and I've tried. When I put together price and value it is one of the best meals I have had in the USA.

Sleek, airy, casual dining. The POM evolves in sophistication from breakfast, lunch to dinner. Enjoy delicious food prepared with only the freshest ingredients. Executive Chef Freddy hand picks the herbs from his own garden. POM offers California cuisine fused with tastes from Latin America and Italy. There is something for everyone.
Consistently good food. A surprise for a casino. Great choices on the menu from fried chicken to a wide array of salads. The chicken enchiladas can't be beat and the portobello mushroom tower with chicken and grilled vegetables is sensational. Samefor the fresh fish tacos and house made guacamole. Service is warm, friendly, and efficient too!

We specialize in serving authentic Mexican food from secret family recipes, including seafood specialties, plus cocktails from a full bar! Our Chiles Gueritos are a popular local favorite - shrimp stuffed yellow peppers topped with mayo and soy sauce. Our restaurant offers a unique dining experience that's just like eating at home with family and friends. The "Shake, Rattle, and Roll" of the trains passing by on the train tracks behind us is also something you'll never forget! Opened in 1981, El Mexicali Cafe on Indio Blvd. Is one of the longest-running woman-owned eateries in the Coachella Valley. El Mexicali Cafe Day was establishes on March 19 in the City of Indio, and you can typically count on something special at the restaurant to celebrate the occasion.
Came in for breakfast on a saturday morning. A decent crowd was there which is a good sign. Did not wait to be seated. Service was very good and attentive. We ordered the red chiliquiles and chorizo and potatoes plate, with side of beans. All...MoreThanks for leaving a review for El Mexicali #2. This is suppose to be the 29's take on a prime steakhouse offering; unfortunately, I've never made it past the bar. It seems I'm always traveling thru solo; so, the bar is my landing spot. Besides, they have a cool "bar only" menu during happy hour, that hits the spot if you're not starving.
The restaurant itself is nice, and has a classy and modern decor. The dining area seemed empty last visit; but to be fair, it was only 5:45pm. The main menu has your usual cuts of beef, and fish, along with the typical sides and salads found in an a la carte steakhouse.
The food at the bar has been consistently good, including the tuna, with the sliced fillet mignon salad being the standout. The beer is ice cold, and the service was great.
Normally I wouldn't review without a take on the full menu, but the bar area seemed so separate fro the main dining room, it's worth covering. All n all, I say give it a go....
