Been there in July 2009 and had the most fantastic experience in cuisine that was absolutely exhilarating. The goose prosciutto and the stuffed duck just melted. The drive up to the restaurant was scenic and the hospitality was great. The recommended wine went well with the served food. Going back there in June 2010 and obviously visiting Sale e Pepe in Stregna. Don't miss it if you pass that way.

In the heart of town, the Al Monastero Restaurant has cosy little rooms, each with their own unique features. At the entrance there is a bar where glasses of wine, mostly from our farm, are served. The room with the typical fogolar furlan (fireplace), still used during winter months. The room with the fresco of Bacchus, the wise God of Wine. The inner courtyard is charming too. It was restructured in 2000 and is used on warm summer evenings for candlelit dinners. After crossing the courtyard you come to the rooms furnished in Friuli country style, which are used for ceremonies, special occasions and at Christmas time, as well as for business dinners in the intimacy of a separate, cosy room.
Had a great lunch here and really enjoyed the experience. Simple menu containing some superb dishes. Expert cooking and first class ingredients. The Lardo and Fassonebeef tartare were outstanding. And they have my all time favourite semi-freddo for desert. Lovely surroundings. Love to go back.

We stopped for lunch here one day and had great Niçoise salads, so,we decided to have our last dinner in Cividale here. The salmon tartare was perfect to share as a starter. My husband had the carbonara 2.0 - a very Creative interpretation that was delicious! I had the black tagliatelle with artichokes, shrimp and cherry tomatoes. What was also so nice was the suggestions of wines to go with our dishes. I can highly recommend this little enoteca!

In this modest restaurant,, you will find superb fish, especially seafood that does not taste as though it has been boiled in chloride.. The value for money is excellent and the service, albeit somewhat slow, is extremely friendly. This was one of the best meals that we had in northern Italy, would certainly revisit and try some of their other dishes. The Deserts particularly the tiramisu is unique and outstanding..

Nice interior, very nice service, excellent local food. "Trippa con polenta", the best i have ever had. Also great antipasti (Salami con cipolla e aceto, frico friulano,...) everything "tipico friulano". The lasagne con radicchio was perfect.
If you are in that area, a visit is a MUST!

Great location- just in between the Church of Cividale and the famous bridge. Local atmosphere and clients. Been there for a quick dinner.
Helpful waiters, very good local food. Tried 'frico' (tasteful and kind of heavy dish) that is baked potatoes with cheese and grilled polenta. Very good local red wine. We had also extra cheese and salami and prosciutto - all really good. Reasonably priced. Would come again.

I discovered this place strolling around Cividale, very friendly and convenient; I had a couple of prosecco glasses on the street window, the food was free of charge and very good. They sell some of their products in the shop next door.
I ll be back for sure.

I ate here last night with my husband. We sat outside. The table was set very elegantly and we were given the menus immediately.I chose the tortino with herbs as a starter, which was sublime amd my husband took the crudo d'osvaldo which was terrific. Then I had paccheri pasta with sea bass and tomatoes...10/10. My husband had homemade tagliatelle with fresh porcini mushrooms...a fantastic dish. Then we both took desserts. I had the croccantino with wholenuts ...yummy. I was completely full as all the portions were generous. My husband had puff pastry with cream and fresh fruit ...mouthwatering. We accompanied our meal with the house wine at 4 euros a half litre. Amazing, prices, presentation and service, in total we spent 60 euros in two for a top notch meal in a lovely, quiet setting. The owner was very friendly and kind throughout the meal which only added to our great experience. We will definitely come back asap!

I always stop here to eat when in the area because their pizzas, and pasta dishes are well prepared. The last time I had an appetizer of pear involtini which literally melted in my mouth. Also, I could not decide which pasta dish to have so, Elina who has worked there for 11 years suggested I have a 1/2 order of each...un buon idea!! The food here is very good even though they are known for this pizzas. Grazziano's makes his own limoncello and it is the best!!
