Visited Jaipur in Church Stretton with my Husband whilst in All Stretton for the night. Reviews seemed great but we still always judge for ourselves. Places to park on the road out front was very handy & free Sundays & after 6pm. Greeted at the door by the staff & seated immediately. Poppadoms arrived almost immediately & drinks. There was a steady stream of people in & out all evening for takeaways & meal. The staff were so polite, & seem genuinely interested in your thoughts. Mixed shashlik & king prawn butterfly starters. Best presentation we've ever had on a curry house starter! They were absolute works of art! Really nice. Only complaint is that the king prawn butterfly starter was only one prawn so not much for the money, however, with the size of the mains, realistically you don't need more although it still would've been nice to have! Bengal Chicken & Chicken Murghi Tikka Massala mains were really nice, chicken really tender, nice thick sauce, lots of flavour. Onion Kulcha naan was a new one for us & glad we tried it, was really moist & plenty of filling! When the mains arrived the waiter served the rice directly onto our plates which was a really nice touch & would have done the same with mains but we were sharing. Really like that, definitely great service. Came to £37.20 for poppadoms, 2 starters, 2 mains, rice, naan & a drink. Downside was the toilets were cold, seems to be a common thing for curryhouses! However, you could see they had thought about it as there was a heater on the wall which was warming up the cubicle. Make sure you feel the wallpaper on the way to the ablutions, it's ace! Overall a perfect meal with so many little touches that really sets the place apart from other places we've been to. Absolutely lovely, thank you :-)

The Pound at Leebotwood is a 15th century thatched country pub and restaurant, situated in the heart of rural picturesque Shropshire countryside and is run by Neil & Sarah McCann. Our menu offers dishes created from fresh local ingredients, we use local and artisan suppliers, within a 30 mile radius where possible. Neil changes the menus in tune with the seasons, so there will always be something new on the menu. We offer a classic Sunday lunch menu every week, always serving three roasts along with elements of our menu to suit all tastes and appetites.
We stopped off for Sunday lunch today after noticing on Thurs that The Pound has recently re-opened.
We had frequented here occasionally before and always had a lovely meal, we were hoping for the same, we weren't disappointed. They were clearly going to be full as most of the tables were reserved, however they were able to fit us in. It was a nice and beautifully cooked meal, the salted caramel tart was so delicious too.
Just curious why the two course Sunday lunch was advertised at £14.95 per person but we were charged £15.00 per person. We're not complaining it just seemed odd. We will definitely return. Thank you.

Fully licensed with courtyard. Open daily 09.00 to 17.00. Breakfast, coffee, snacks, hot and cold meals (all day) and clotted cream teas. We support smaller local and family businesses and try to ensure we use seasonal, organic, free-range and natural products. Everything is home-made and meals are available throughout the day.
Quirky but homely rooms, delicious home made food.
On first visit we sat in the Parlour, complete with chiming clock , wonderful old fashioned decor and sofas. Very comfortable and warm. We spotted two real fires in other rooms, just adding to the lovely cosy ambience. On our first visit we opted for the Shropshire Rarebit, a huge portion of cheesy wonderfulness, and the Brie and bacon toasty, which had a very generous portion of top quality Brie and delicious crisp bacon.
When you visit a place that provides a sheet detailing all its local suppliers on the table, you know you’ve arrived somewhere rather special. Leaf teas and wonderful coffee added to our delightful experience so much that we didn’t hesitate to visit again the very next day. This time we sampled the gorgeous warming delights of the two soups on offer, courgette and fennel, and parsnip and apple. One served with mackerel pate on toast and the other served with roasted pepper tart and salad. Sat in front of a lovely warm wood burner and got lovely and warm and cosy after a cold damp walk. Staff lovely , portions generous and food fresh and delicious. Top class.

Informal style restaurant & bar with an a la carte menu changed three times on average each week, together with a selection of tapas style grazing boards. Wherever possible local fresh ingredients are used and we buy our meat from local butchers.
Housmans is a cool oasis in the centre of sleepy, Church Stretton and brings a little bit of cosmolitan to this Shropshire backwater, famous for the very stunning Long Mynd.
The food at Housmans is worthy of it's high TripAdvisor rating, with portions being pretty generous.
Recommend the fish goujons!
Friendly and helpful staff made for a very pleasant Sunday afternoon.

Situated in the lovely village of Little Stretton 12 miles south of Shrewsbury, The Ragleth Inn is set in beautiful countryside a quarter of a mile off the A49.Dating back to 1663, the Ragleth Inn offers all you expect from an English Country Inn. The village is just south of Church Stretton, lying snug between the hills on what used to be the main road to Ludlow before it was by-passed. To the east are the wooded slopes of the Ragleth and to the west rises the Long Mynd. The Ragleth boasts one of the best pub Gardens in Shropshire, set in approximately half an acre of lovely shrubs and trees. With the Ragleth Hill to one side, and the Longmynd to the other, the surrounding views are spectacular. The garden itself has benches which can seat up to 70 and is ideal for younger children with two large trampolines. Just two minutes walk behind the pub is the Small Batch campsite, nestled at the base of Ashes Hollow. The Ragleth offers two lounges with Seating for 40 between them. There is also a separate dining room, which overlooks the garden area, and which seats 30.The new propriaters took over as new owners of The Ragleth Inn in June 2005. They closed the pub straight away to completely renovate it. The first thing was to knock off the plaster and expose all the lovely old brick walls and sand blast the old beams back to the original. Having fitted a new log burner in one of the lounges, The Ragleth now guarantees a warm and friendly welcome.
We came here with a group of friends, for Sunday lunch, after a walk in the Shropshire Hills. I had baked avocado with seafood and cheese, followed by nut roast with a madiera and mushroom sauce, potatoes and vegetables. Although I normally love avocado, the starter was a mostly tasty, if slightly unusual combination. The nut roast and vegetables were delicious and it was good to have an imaginative vegetarian option. The prices were very good too, £12.95 for one course, £14.95 for two courses and £16.95 for three courses. Service was very good too.

Had breakfast here last Sunday, and the experience was a total joy. The place was packed, with dogs as well as humans, and all were made to feel very welcome. The food was generous, prompt and delicious, and the service was excellent, and friendly. I'd unhesitatingly recommend this to anyone.

We stopped off here for a quick tea stop as we were visiting the area. We sat outside as the weather was nice and we were brought a menu. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We ordered tea which was served in proper China cups and slices of the hot tea loaf which were yummy. Well worth a visit.

Located at the end of our walk over the mynd this was a great place to end the day. Apart from the refreshing drinks, we were able to bring Barney the tired out dog in for a drink too. Plenty of bowls and toys for him too. The girls particularly were impressed that the 'ladies' provided face cloths for us to freshen up with joules soap, lotion and perfume. Whilst we didnt eat here the blocks were impressed with the lumps of cheese on the platters that were being brought out for other customers. Maybe next time we'll try these out.

We called in here for lunch before a walk yesterday and loved it. A properly traditional old pub. We were spoilt for choice with the menu and really enjoyed the food - good ingredients, big portions, nicely cooked. The location is fantastic for walking with...MoreThank you, we enjoyed your company, we appreciate your feedback and hope you will visit again soon.
