We are a simple, friendly, family run budget-style guesthouse with only eight twin or double bed rooms. One room of three single beds. No dormitories. We have our own restaurant offering both Thai and Western food. Our public bar is popular with travelers and locals alike, well stocked with extremely cold beer and specialty cocktails. We help with the full range of travel advice and ticketing. The English owner has lived locally and on the Islands for nearly fifteen years so is very well connected with many dive shops and resorts on all Islands, particularly Koh Tao where he still spends a lot of time to keep information up to date.
We arrived in the evening after a major downpour & the staff seemed indifferent to our arrival!
I had minced beef & onion pie & chips & mixed vegetables; all 3 were straight out of freezer packets. Tasted like it too!
My girlfriend had spicy Penang curry - it was ok; we also had chicken steaks which were average.
Highlight of the evening was when a cockroach, the size of a mouse, fell out of the roof onto my arm & narrowly missed falling in my dinner!!

We stayed next door to this place and found the staff and owner very helpful. The owner is quite the entrepreneur and runs a taxi service, tour service, as well as the restaurant. We ate dinner here one night and found the food very authentic...MoreThank you so much. For recommendations welcome back again FON

This place came highly recommended by friends. It's simple and up a back street, but famous locally for it's home cooking and friendly welcome. The menu is only in Thai with a couple of groups of six dishes, each recommended by a Thai reviewer. We chose our own six dishes, all things we were unfamiliar with. All interesting and all delicious. If you can't read Thai, I would go for one of the groups of dishes, or just order at random. If you are a foodie, you won't be disappointed. Owners/staff very friendly. I'm sure they would advise well also.

I came early on a Saturday night only me and a tipsy local guy.Service was nice and friendly and my waitress had a good understanding of English.
I ordered spicy steamed mussels with garlic ,they were spicy but still easily edible for a longtime Thai expat, the spicy raw salmon salad was very good and not to hot and my final dish of deep fried soft shell crab was out of this world very meaty
The live music was kept at a very pleasant level
Good value for money excellent restaurant

Stayed in the nearby hotel Nana Beach and eventhough the food there is also good, I ended up going every day to View Resort. Sundays it was packed with locals, the rest of the week is fairly quiet.
All seafood dishes that you can find in other seafood restaurants are on the menu but the crab fried rice for only 50 THB is excellent. Tom yam was tasty too.

We were staying at the Novotel and Lui seafood is a couple of minutes walk to the left of the hotel, not the one opposite which is nowhere near as good as this place..
Food was excellent as was the service. There are separate menus for Thais and fafangs a much better choice and much more reasonable prices than that on offer at hotel.
Remember to eat early as the kitchen closes at 20.30

Vegan/vegetarian menu, including organic homegrown herbs, organic thai red rice and really good homemade drinks made with 9 different kinds of rice or with butterfly pea flowers (must try). Really nice and relaxed setting, with a backyard open area protected by a magnificent tree. Cheap, good and healthy food and a really friendly staff, definitely recommended!

Thai food and fine Italian home made pasta and bread plus other delicious meals, cooked with passion and knowledge and served with style just on the beach.
Chow Mein, veggie burger, soy milk, western omelet, pancakes, toastie Sandwich, hot cocoa, pesto, pad kaprao / pad thai..... Mr Duu 2.0 is looking to be the ho
And he will still have all the old stuff, including the best daily baked bread, fresh coffee (some people travel 20+KM to get his coffee), western breakfast, and fresh made pasta.
Great guy and his pride prevents him from putting out crap. If only he was open later.... Maybe he will close for a few hours and then reopen for dinner when new menu is official.
