My husband and I went for a rare date night/birthday combo. Total was $9X.XX with tip. We had 3 alcoholic beverages (sparkler, Bellini, vodka cherry something) all were very good flavor only one was weak on liquor. We had crab dip appetizer which was cheesy, hot and bubbly. My husband had the tuna dinner with a salad and Hush puppies, I had blackened salmon with baked potato and broccoli. Everything was hot, fresh and well seasoned. I even wanted to eat more than a bite of my husbands tuna and that’s typically not something I like.
We had no wait to be seated. Our server was super sweet and accommodated our request to move from a table in the middle of the floor to a booth that had just opened up. The atmosphere was a bit dark (not too dark though) and quiet which we thoroughly enjoyed that is until they seated a family right next to us with multiple children including a small child in a high chair that kept throwing everything onto the floor and screaming. I realize they can’t help a child’s behavior but I’m glad we were at least halfway through our meal when they arrived as it affected our enjoyment of the fabulous meal.
We’re a military family in town visiting friends, If we’re ever back that way we’ll be back to eat.

If you want the best ice cream ever, then Bruster's is for you. It's so creamy that it's unbelievable! Best of all, they have multiple flavors and some you haven't had before. Try it! You will absolutely love it!

We always try to stop for a meal at Don Pepe's when we are coming and going to Florida. Each visit has been fine, and after a two year hiatus, we stopped for dinner last night. It was, if possible, even better. Wonderful sangria, a superior quesadilla, and a terrific "surf/turf" special. Karla was a great server and, as always, the manager came to see if everything was going well. And, also as always, we bought a bag of their chips for snacking! A really easy "off/on" from Route 95. If you are spending the night, there are many hotel/motel options right at this exit.

We found this gem of a restaurant while passing through early last year. Since then we are sure to stop in when we're passing through the area. Five minutes off I 95 south of Richmond. Beautifully decorated in an unassuming storefront. Everything we've tried has been excellent. The menu is a mix between traditional German recipes and contemporary American cuisine. I grew up in Germany and this is some of the most authentic German food you'll find. Attentive service. Nice wines. And the owner makes it a point to speak with his patrons. Be sure to look this one up and try it!

My childhood friend and I meet for a visit every 3-4 months. This time we decided to go somewhere close to her home and she chose Howlett's. She explained this restaurant was opened several years ago and then closed and reopened again. Everyone in her circles loves Howlett's and I can see why. While we did not have a large meal but only sandwiches, those sandwiches were delicious and the atmosphere was cozy. We were well taken care of by our waiter and it was just an enjoyable place to settle in and hang out for awhile. What a wonderful recommendation!

Another visit and another great meal. We always have the "Triple Crown" dinner which is enough for two. There isn't a more dependable restaurant we've been to in the area. Most chain restaurants will have an occasional difference in the food and the service, but not this one. Their food and service @ the Chester, VA. location is always predictably good. We'll be back.

Half Restaurant. Half Store. All Country
Like all Cracker Barrels, this one has great breakfast items and delicious all day food. Service is always friendly and prompt. This one sits a little off the road behind other buildings so you have to look a little to find it. Ample parking for RV's and other larger vehicles. Easy access.

Love to stop here when I'm in town. Friendly staff and the prices are reasonable. This place makes me miss my old college town.

Family owned restaurant specialzing in homemade sandwiches and sides. Loaded foot long hot dogs and subs are also very popular! For dinner try our fall off the bone rib platter.
My favorite place to get a deli sandwich in Chester! Most recently had corned beef on rye, it was to die for! Very New York authentic. Service is always friendly and fast, even when they are packed, which is most of the time!

Nestled in the heart of Chester, this Panera Bread is amazing! Crisp vegetables, awesome soups and the smell of oven baked goods. I always normally choose the Pick 2 items and get the combo of salad/sandwich. Service is fast and filling. I stop here to keep up with my diet.
