The best thing about Mathurot Ruenpae is its location. It is right alongside and on pontoons over Chachoengsao's Bang Pakong River. While the Bang Pakong is not the world's most beautiful river, it was pleasant to sit at a table totally riverside, watch the water flow by, and take in the riverine ambience.
Two of us shared deep fried Chinese herb chicken and a plate of crab meat in an Indian-style curry sauce, with steamed rice.
The chicken was tender and moist and subtly herbed. We ate most of it with our fingers, using either the sweet chili or the fish sauce and chili dipping sauces provided.
The crab dish is very popular throughout Thailand and in its true version consists of a cracked mud crab in an Indian curry power sauce, with spring onions, red capsicums and green vegetables. However, I chose the meat-only version to avoid the messiness of have to forage for the crab meat myself.
With one bottle of Leo beer and one whole fresh coconut drink the bill was a modest Baht 680.
Staff were attentive and friendly.
Incidentally, the menu is in both Thai and English and most of the dishes have photo illustrations to help you choose.

It's delectable but not too delecious. There is a lot of food here such as thaifood, seafood and dessert (recomment mango rice). The price isn't too expensive. The view is great with bangpakong river but the weather is so hot. The staff is very very good :). Lastly somtam is very delicious :)

This place selling all kinds of snack and the famous chiffon cake which they provided 15 different flavors. You just walk in and do the tasting for free before make a decision which one you like to buy. The chiffon cake was soft and full of flavor. The price was cheap 45 thb for 5 pieces of small chiffon cake. Only 500 meter from Wat Sothon after finish with temple can stop by here. It's open from 6.00 am. till 6.30 p.m.

After we done blessing from Wat Luang Pao Sothon. This place is only 3 mins drive from temple. We ordered 3 dishes plus beer, soft drink and water which cost only 700 THB.
The place is nice design and quite huge. The food quality and quantity was very good for the price you pay. The staffs kinda slow and needed to repeat every single order to them.
