Welcome to Café Fusiones!... a place that initially emerged as an idea in November 2008, we wanted to create a space in which people enjoy and encounter the flavour, aroma, beauty and quality of the organic products which are offered in our region – Amazonas. In April 2009, we opened our doors in order to offer you an extensive menu with a fusion of flavours based on regional organic products, following the principles of ‘slow food’ (as opposed to fast food), guaranteeing good, fair food, with tasty ingredients, produced without damaging the environment, wildlife or our own health; and always ensuring a fair and just price is paid to the producers. For this reason, we work directly with community organizations and private businesses, such as the Cooperativa Agraria Rodríguez de Mendoza with their flagship product Bio Café, the Asociación de Productores Santa Rosa who provide us with our organic natural sugar, La Chetina, with its milk based products and jams made from local fruits, the Asociación de Mujeres Artesanas de Leymebamba, with their artisan textiles and Artesanía Huamán, with their work in wood. We sell all of their products in our Fair Trade shop. In café Fusiones we support and promote fair trade and in addition to buying our region´s organic food products we also take account of the fine work of local carpenters, potters, weaver and other artisans, because we trust and value their work and we are proud to show the art that they have created with their hands.
We visited the cafe several times during our 4 days in chachapoyus but we're left disappointed. Service was pretty poor and we were left waiting for food or a drink on more than one occasion. WiFi didn't work most of the time.Thank you very much for your opinion, we are working to improve our customer service. With regard to the Internet, we hope that the optical fiber arrives soon to our Region so as to have better internet service.

A mitad de cuadra del lado norte de la plaza de armas
I really loved this cafe. It's right in the plaza and the decor is phenomenal. Very conducive to creativity. They DO NOT have wifi but they DO have a piano and a guitar and cool old radios and great decorations. Their lunch menu was 6 S./ so a bit more than average but not bad. I mostly went for the coffee. Their cafe con leche is sweet and creamy and delicious. The staff is nice too. Their hours were the only problem as they seemed to be open only when they felt like it but definitely check it out. They share an entrance with the Chachapoyas library which is incredibly tiny but still worth checking out. All in all, one of my favorite places to chill out and decompress without the temptation of wifi.

Another of those trattoria like places one dreqms about finding when travelling in places where guide books are starting to run thin. Does excellent lunches, local style food ... goog quality, well cooked and excellent value. Only seems to do lunch. Thouroughly recommended.

This restaurant has the most tasty cecinas in a whole variety of presentations. The cecina is soft and fresh and a big dish is around 15 soles which is very well paid.
Also, they have good drinks and fresh juices.
Only complaint: service is a little slow so you should think of this if you are in a hurry.

Peru is overflowing with sub-par bakery/cakeries, full of stale rolls, sickly-sweet confections and horrid ice cream only to be eaten when bored of all else. San Jose is, refreshingly, not one of these!
Granted, you're still in Peru. But given the low standards for these places, San Jose delivers. I sampled a variety of their bread rolls, all of which were moist, and the churros are great (made fresh after 12pm).
Their ice cream is the best I've ever had from a local Peruvian bakery (and I'm picky when it comes to ice cream) which is enough of a reason to hit these folks up daily.
Friendly staff too, and if I'm not mistaken they don't close for the 1pm - 3pm siesta like everyone else. Located right in the center of town!

Esta Calle Da A La Catedral.
We had the grilled platter for two and it did not disappoint. Came with fries and salad so we left full and happy !!
Feels authentic here in terms of food, even Hough there were a few tour groups here as well.
The owner was not as friendly as we would have liked, but the waitress was nice and patient as we didn't speak much Spanish !
Reliable food in Chachapoyas

What a nice, authentic cafe hidden behind the plaza de armas!!! The breakfast is excellent: so many options for every taste bud including fresh fruits and vegetarian options (around 12Soles). Hamburgers , fried yuccas and sandwiches are delicious too if you're looking for something for lunch or dinner. The staff gives you a warm welcome and is really friendly. and the cafe has a nice backyard too:)

Great spot for lunch or dinner. Classic Peru food on local re-interpretations. Try the "chaufa" (Peru fried rice), the "Maduro" (plantain) with Andean cheese, and the drinks. Friday and Saturday night, probably the right place to start the dance and local spirits.

Nice cheap breakfast with juice, coffee, eggs and jam for 2 dollars. Service was fast and friendly. Eggs were scrambled, coffee and juice nice!

THE place where the locals go to have their coffee with something to eat. Very simple and neat deco, with a photo of the owner with Mr. Gastón Acurio(One of Peru gastronomic icons). In the backyard their is a small and very private Terrace and more tables than in the front.
In all my visits I went for the desserts, so I can't give an opinion over the empanadas or other dishes.
The "Maracuya"(Passion Fruit) Bavarois..excelent..also the Lucuma one...The lemon pie is also a must in this place. The chocolate cake is ok.
Surprisingly, the place is closed during lunchtime.
