We were in Cathlamet for the weekend and wanted a pizza. Decided to try Sharon's and ordered a combo. It was well prepared, hot and tasty. No complaints. Would not hesitate to go there again. 27J

I would like to start this by saying that this shop should be closer to a 3.5 out of 5 instead of a 3 out of 5.
I ordered a Chicken Maui sandwich and a 20 oz French Toast Coffee, We'll start with the worst and end on a bright note.
The sandwich was the least enjoyable of the two items. There was nothing wrong with it but nothing that made me say I am definitely going to get this again. Overall average sandwich.
The coffee however was quite enjoyable and definitely worth the price that I paid for it. I would recommend the shop here for their coffee anytime.
As far as atmosphere, this shop is quite enjoyable and cozy. I would highly recommend this for a morning of quiet studying or meeting up with friends.

We’ve driven by The Berry Patch more than a dozen times and have never stopped. This time we were swayed to stop by a roadside billboard advertising their homemade pies. We were not disappointed. We had a slice of strawberry-Rubarb and a combination blackberry-huckleberry both with a scoop of vanilla. Both were outstanding. The service was extremely friendly. The restaurant has a small gift shop with numerous jams, jellies, etc. and does wine tastings. We will definitely be back for another slice of pie down the road.

Good food, great owners and cute roadside diner ambiance. Shepherd's Pie was OMG good and a huge portion. Prices are fair, and they have beer and wine. We've been there twice and will be back.

I'm rating this a 5-star for what it is. What is it? It's a little restaurant along HWY4 between the beach and Longview. The restaurant has been recently remodeled. It's clean and staff is friendly. The menu was fabulous. Lots of options and some great seafood items too.
Between us we tried the delicious vegetable beef soup, a french dip sandwich and a reuben. Everything was tasty and prices were good.
We liked it and will probably stop again while in the area.

From the outside, this little restaurant looks like an old fashioned "greasy spoon" kind of place. Inside, not quite so much and there were no waitresses with beehive hairdos calling us 'hon', but nonetheless, we thought we detected the spirit of the good ol' days :-)
We were here for lunch. The menu has a decent selection of sandwiches, soups salads and so on. They specialize in huge hamburgers.
I had a chicken burger and it was very large, properly cooked without being all dried out. Very good. My husband ordered a giant hot dog, which was not. Giant, that is. It was longer than an average one, but very skinny :-(
Both our meals came with salads, which instead of the usual small pile of limp iceberg lettuce sitting next to a sandwich, were crisp cold full sized dinner salads with a variety of veggies! My husband also had a bowl of the steak soup which was delicious.
Service was decent enough, very friendly.
So, everything except the hot dog was good sized and everything tasted good. If we're ever back in this area, we'd stop in again.

This saloon opened in early October, 2016. great care was taken, to make this 1918 building, warm and inviting. No menus, April cooks up breakfast, then lunch and dinner are whatever she prepares. They are closed Monday and Tuesday, but will be open for Halloween. We were camped at Vista Park, and walked over to the fairgrounds, where the Roadkill Saloon is located. A wonderful addition to sweet Skamokawa! Oh, and check out Lipstick, the pot bellied pig.
Congratulations!!, April and Rick, All the best,

There definitely aren't an abundance of dining choices in Cathlamet, so if you're in town and need a place to eat, Maria's Place will suffice nicely. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. I would characterize this as a Mexican restaurant with a huge variety including burgers, salads and sandwiches. If you sit in the bar/lounge, you'll have a peek-a-boo view of the river. Service was excellent on the night we were there - very attentive and friendly. The burritos and fajitas are excellent. Salads are average with iceberg lettuce. Complimentary chips were nice and crisp. This is definitely a viable choice if you're in the area and looking for somewhere to have a meal.

While passing through Cathlamet we noted a new restaurant on Main Street, so we decided to give it a try for breakfast.
Its obvious the place is newly opened by the freshly painted look. This was confirmed by the waitperson who was prompt and courteous. She explained as much as possible was home made which immediately got our interest. I ordered my favorite , chicken fried steak, and her biscuits and gravy.
The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and our eyes popped. The portions were huge! My CFS was served on three plates, one covered by the CFS, another for the eggs and home fries with peppers, and the last for the English muffin. Not kidding, check out the photo. It was then that I noted this was home made CFS, not something factory made and frozen. In fact, I then noted the sound pf the tenderizing mallet in the kitchen pounding out another. This was the real deal!.
My wife let me have a taste of her B&G and again the gravy came across home made with chunks of sausage. Could not tell about the biscuit, it could go either way, but regardless it was light and fluffy. In all a great breakfast experience at a reasonable price. Again the portion was huge. Big thumbs up.
Now why I cant give it for stars. Later that week we went again for breakfast. A bit smarter this time I went for a small B&G and she the two egg breakfast with hash browns. All was well until she tasted the hash browns. Browned on the outside but stone cold in the center. Could they have been frozen? Done know but it was a put off. Probably should have told the waitperson, but did not since it was busy and she was running.
So whats the verdict? Looks good, but they need to pay attention to detail. Possibly just start up pains for a new place. Will try again later and see.

Taylorville is one of many small towns that time and the relocated US 30 have bypassed. It is to the credit of the management of T&J's that they have managed to survive. I had to stop here and hoist one, partly in memory of Gene & Roger Bowman (long-time Taylorville residents), and partly because my spouse is a Taylor. Worth a stop on the Portland-to-Astoria drive!
