The ' Flying Dutchman is a pizza restaurant on the banks of a scenic lake , whose sinuous forms reminiscent of a stylized sailing ship built in perfect harmony with the green and the surrounding nature . The attention to detail , the pursuit of quality , the staff and the variety of the menu , where you can taste even flow of Freshwater fish and seasonal products of excellence are our calling card
L'Olandese Volate is situated between Cassino and S.Apollinare, Central Italy.
This is not a tourist area, should you be in Cassino (larger town) possibly visiting the Monte-Cassino Abbey,
it will be a 10 minute drive and trust me, well worth it!!!
The owners welcomed us although we had not made supper Reservations.
It is on a beautiful trout lake, nautical type restaurant. Indoor and outdoor dinning available. The ambiance is beautiful and the food GREAT.
Outdoor/indoor wood burning oven, we had primi (antipasto) a wood burning pizza (delicious), I had trout my husband veal. The tiramisu dessert was fabulous with a short espresso.
Have the house wine...it is as good as the bottled.
Our meal including tip was 55 Euro.
Again, if you are in this part of Italy DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE!!
The owners are husband and wife team, very friendly and will give you a little history on the town, this is not only a place to dine, there is Seating around the lake and you are welcome to sit around and have after dinner drinks or a coffee.
Go and enjoy!!

Evan's restaurant a Cassino In the heart of the city, at the foot of the Abbey of Montecassino and surrounded by the city park, offers itself as a prestigious and exclusive venue for any occasion and ideal place to spend pleasant moments of relaxation while enjoying culinary delights away from city stress. The restaurant has an outdoor veranda, where in summer you can have lunch or dinner, and an inner room of 50 seats, all decorated in a modern style in a very simple and basic, in perfect harmony with the kitchen.Intent on spoiling their clients, Evan's like to spend attention to every detail, offering a quality service in a pleasant and private. In the hall of the restaurant you will be "pampered" by the family Evangelist with their staff, will know how to drive with due care and professionalism in the selection of dishes and wines offered in the paper.
Food was good. My pasta was overcooked and the ratio of cheese to pasta was off. But overall a good place to eat. The ingredients were fresh.
Sterile atmosphere. I tend to Enjoy more authentic cuisine especially in small towns. Not bad. But wouldn't go out of my way to come here.
Presentation of food was really well done and service was quick.

Water,Flour and love
The title says it all. It is very reasonable, the pizza bought by the piece or whole comes hot, there are some pasta offered, cooked vegetable, or and salad, as in any Cafeteria.
The place is bright and clean and pleasant. Many students and families with little kids are their customers. It is opened at the hours when most restaurants, trattorias are closed. In short, a convenient eatery that will not break your bank account.

Don't be put off by the badly lit potholed road with NO sign to say it is Via del Cerro right next to the Ezra Palace Hotel, the moment you get to the tree-lined drive to this restaurant you will begin to imagine the treat you have in store for you.
A refined ambience, smiling and attentive service and good food. The owner is the chef and enjoys cooking and you can taste it. Choose the Colle starter, a wood-fire pizza or let them recommend a main course and a dessert (including Chantilly cream on top, this is not a place to count calories). The final surprise is that the bill is an honest price so do make the effort to go here.
We ate on a quiet Wednesday night but would imagine it to be busy at weekends.

Small restaurant tucked away around a small square. It is worth looking for! I had a chicken dish that was delicious. Chicken breast sautéed with crispy onion bits, cheese, green olives and white wine with a fresh salad. Including drink it was 14 euro.
It was not crowded when I was there. The owners teenage son came in with 6 friends and Mom took all their orders!
It is not fancy but the food is good.

Having read through previous reviews for this restaurant, we visited for dinner on 28 May. We were not disappointed at all and once again enjoyed good hearty Italian fare and generous portion sizes. The waiting staff were very pleasant, and speak English; we enjoyed good service, and also a very nice bottle of Pecorino Vino Bianco from Chieti ( one of our favourite white wines). Sitting outside on a balmy evening was great. We recommend Sir Jasper's.

Giorno di chiusura: Domenica sera e Lunedi intera giornata.
Wandered around the centre of Cassino (why?) looking for somewhere to eat. Somewhat fortunately came across Gallon L. The antipasto misto della terra kept on coming and it had some excellent 'sides' added on. Fine service and very reasonable prices. Went again as I had the opportunity.

OPENING HOURS TUESDAY 'TO SATURDAY HOURS FROM 12:00 AM TO 14:45 AND HOURS FROM 18:00 AM TO 22:15 OPENING HOURS SUNDAY HOURS FROM 18:00 AM TO 23:00 MONDAY 'WEEKLY SUMMER HOLIDAYS FROM 10 AUGUST TO 20 August Please note: There is no service at the tables; You choose at the counter the pizzas you want to eat, the drinks, you pay and then comfortably sit in the inner room or outside courtyard. Thanks for the attention.
The man at the counter was really nice and helpful explaining the pizza and other food such as arancini balls in broken English which we really appreciated. He made a big effort. Pizza is weighed in slices and dishes can be heated if cold. No table service just go up to the counter, point/order and take soft drinks or beers from fridge. He even explained it would be cheaper to buy a bigger bottle of coke than several cans.
Pizza and drinks tasty and cheap. Served on a plastic tray on paper plates. There is a small dining room at the counter with character and an outside Seating area secluded at the side. Great fun and friendly.

Even though Cassino has quite a few things that brings tourists to town, including the Abbey, Roman ruins and WWII sites, it doesn't seem many stay there overnight. The town was completely destroyed during WWII and is not particularly attractive today. On a recent two day stay we wandered into the centre of town from the Best Western on the edge of town looking for a decent trattoria. There are lots of cafes, but we found few true restaurants until stumbling onto Locanda D'Amore near the main piazza. It was early for lunch by Italian standards and we were the only ones there.
The place is small with about ten tables inside and a few outside. Decor is simple. The menu simple as well with an emphasis on local fare. While waiting for our food we leafed through several of the books on hand that dealt with the local Roman ruins.
The white wine was a local varietal and very good.
For antipasti I had an assortment of local cheeses and sausage while my wife had a selection of grilled vegetables. Both were delicious. Pasta e fagioli (pasta with beans) is a local specialty which I ordered and did not regret. My wife had fusilli with eggplant. Also delicious.
By the time we were half way through our meal, the place was packed - all locals.
This was an inexpensive and delicious meal.

We stopped for directions to a B&B and decided to stay for lunch . Roberto entertained us with history of Cassino, while his mother Margherita and sister Rita made a meal we will never forget. We have traveled around Sicily and Italy eating for the past 2weeks . This is by far the best meal we have had. Don't pass up Bianco Spino!
