Probably the only seafood restaurant in this area, near town centre but close to the wharf. The service was good, the gentleman (owner I reckon) served the water like a fine dinning restaurant and took the order professionally. The food were cooked with fresh seafood as you could tell once you ate them ! The only down side was the price of the dishes are a bit dear.

I stayed here passing through while traveling to the north (just one night). I didnt ate or drink here just used the hotel room. It wasnt very good, floors, toilet mirror and shower dirty, sheets look old and smelled dank. Staff was friendly at pub but as hotel/motel isnt best option. The room is fine just to spend the night and there isnparking but next time id spend 10more dollars and sleep in a bettwer place.

Had fish and chips, fish burgers and scallop burgers. Would have liked to have tried prawn burger but they ran out of prawns (Good Friday public holiday).
Fish were excellent portions in all meals. Five or six battered fresh scallops in the scallop burger. Salad and tomato in burgers were fresh and crunchy. Bun was a little soft but generous in size.
Chips serve were a good portion. Crunchy. Golden.
For a busy Friday night, the wait was 15mins. The staff were well organised.

Second visit. Had coffee and fish and chip special this time. Coffee good, hot, tasty. Food bordering on average. Batter was just weird. But $10 I didn't complain. They do take away food. Prices reasonable, location central but not romantic. Owners trying hard. Would like to see better fish and chips though.

Minilya Roadhouse is always a welcome stop whilst travelling up north. It's only just over 200km north of Carnarvon but as its near the branch road leading to Exmouth there isn't another petrol opportunity on this main road unless you drive into Coral Bay.
The roadhouse is busy due to this fact so you may have to wait a little for food. Other than that, it provides for everything you need. It also had shower facilities for a cost.

Delicious smoothie in a delightful surrounds. Hidden away down a dirt road surrounded by banana palms and mango trees is the beautiful River Gums Cafe. What a garden! It's so nice sitting out here with colourful flowers, singing birds and a light breeze while sipping a mango smoothie. Absolutely a must visit if in Carnavon :-)

We booked for dinner here for our one night in Carnarvon hoping it might be ok. The fellow on the front desk was less than welcoming when we booked, but we thought the food might be ok.
The dining area is also the breakfast area for the motel, but it looked clean although a bit old fashioned. The waiter showed us to our table which was hard up against another table for 2 where there was already a couple dining. The room was hardly full but my comment that the other diners might like to have us sit a bit further away was ignored and we had to take our seats, almost on the laps of the other people!
The menu was not very inspiring and disappointing that local fish was not available. I had the barramundi and my husband had the seafood chowder - they were just ok.
The wine list was very average and several of our selections were not available!
We didn't stay long enough to see where else there was to eat in town, but if this is the best then it needs to improve somewhat.

Have eaten here several times now and never been disappointed. Place looks a little run down and unloved but the food more than makes up for it. Particular favorite is the nasi goreng. Lots of meat and veggies through it, not greasy and plenty of flavor! But I have tried many other dishes and been happy with them all too. Really modestly priced meal. We had a rice dish, meat dish, spring rolls and 2 drinks for under $40. Will eat here again and again and again. Thanks for the awesome dinner!
