Great Deep Pan Pizza, Fresh Salads, Italian Beef, Reuben's, and Philly Steak Sandwiches, and Plenty of your favorite Beverages. Very Kid friendly also.
I called to place an order for an employee that had surgery. I needed an extra 10 seconds to get her phone number. The lady on the other end of the phone was curt and acted put out. I asked a question about the food, as I am not familiar with this establishment being from another city. She did not want to be bothered with me. It was not even lunch or dinner rush. It was 2pm. Good thing they are known for their pizza because their customer service sucks.

More people need to know about this place. The savory crepes are amazing and very large. The teas are just as good! Kind of a weird location that doesn't lend itself to the best parking arrangements, but it's worth it even if you have to walk a bit. Service is always a bit slow, but the food always comes out hot and fresh.

I would highly recommend Larry's House of Cakes. We needed a birthday cake last minute and they had us in and out within 15 minutes with a custom cake.

In town visiting our SIU student who recommended this place. Awesome breakfast selection, great and quick service and a comfortable atmosphere(nothing fancy, but clean and festively decorated). The place was packed..obvious sign of a favorite place to dine. We will be back.

Returned for espresso drinks made to order, and tried the coconut cake...pretty much perfect, moist and flavorful. Wonderful cinnamon roll too. Almond cream is an interesting variation on the classic scone. Again, the staff was awesome - a friendly young woman searching the shelves tirelessly to find the t-shirt I wanted (100% cotton & supercool designs), while a gracious man packed my order carefully. Fabulous eclectic decor, and local art for sale.

I return to Thai Taste pretty regularly. Favorite things are pineapple fried rice, wonton soup (really flavorful broth), Thai tea of course, and they generally have a fun beer special. Average dinner prices for flavorful food. Nice to have a spice option in Southern Illinois.

The freshly restored Newell House Restaurant offers great American cuisines with a neighborhood twist. With its casual and unique atmosphere, it serves as a great place to catch up with a few friends or the entire family. Featuring a fully stocked bar, more than 30 specialty martinis and a fine wine list with more than 40 varieties.
The innkeeper at our B&B recommended this restaurant for dinner on Thursday night.
Good variety of food. We ad a group had everything from steak to bouilliabaisse. Every one agreed the food was great and in good quantities.
Server was attentive and made the experience above average. 4 stars rather than 5 due to cost.

618-529-1108. Locally owned moderately upscale Chinese restaurant. Good tea smoked duck. Nice atmosphere. Large menu.
Most Chinese places and other oriental cuisines in the area are take out, buffet, or quick dining. Hunan stands out with its formal experience, great and well dressed staff, and the amazing dishes they have to offer. I highly recommend trying Hunan for any event or special occasion.

I really enjoyed having the option for locally-raised grass fed beef. My "Lick" burger was one of the best burgers I've had. Plus the French fries are outstanding too.
