Went here with my hubby on a weeknt and it was uber busy. Friendly service and nice looking restaurant. Food was, dunno, ok I guess, nothing bad, but far from great. Bread basket was very good, with good variety. My hubby had 3 plates of mussels, first 2 were dried out and shriveled the size of a bean, 3rd plate were finally served out of the pot, plump but needed seasoning. Soup was pretty wet, this is not a chowder as we not it. It's very wet, but full of fish/seafood. I had to season it. Sadly, the lobster was overboiled or sat out. It was dry. So dissappointed. Desert was good, but nothing OMG. Maybe it was a bad nite, dunno. Would I go back, no. Too bad.

We were looking for a filling breakfast and initially thought that this cafe was limited to pastries. Not so! They have a number of well prepared full breakfast options. Also, they do excellent espresso drinks. I asked for a dry cappuccino and it was made perfectly. Oh yes, and the pastries are exceptional!

The Herring Choker Deli is a bakery/cafe/deli located just outside of Baddeck and minutes away from the start of the world famous Cabot Trail. We serve fresh homemade breads, sweets, soups, salads, sandwiches and wraps!!!
We did not actually eat at this restaurant as it was already closed when we arrived (the motel where we were staying having given us the incorrect information about hours of operation). The owner of the restaurant just happened to be outside in her car as she had stopped by to check something. She apologized (unnecessarily) and offered to drive us to another place nearby that was indeed open. On the way we informed her that we were the guys who had had a serious car accident just down the road from her in the afternoon. Shortly after we had returned to the motel following our dinner, there was a knock on the door and a hotel staff member handed us an envelope. Inside was a card with a lovely message of encouragement and two fifty-dollar bills! This is Nova Scotia kindness at its very best. We went to the restaurant the next day to thank the owner for her thoughtfulness and generosity, but she was on her day off. An unforgettable experience for us. Thank you!

We had found this restaurant online. They had vegetarian food, gluten-free and dairy-free items as well.
The restaurant was quite full. Everyone enjoyed their time here. The price was fair and the food was delicious.
They had some pictures from the past in Sydney. I liked that.
My wife ate a vegetarian gluten-free burger. She loved it. I took a dish with curry. It was super delicious. So good!
We left with a full stomach.

We ate here three times during our week's tour of Celtic Colours. Just down the road from our accommodation in Port Hood it provided great comfort food in a busy but friendly atmosphere. We had some of the best fish and chips and seafood chowder here! Get there early for dinner or you may be standing in line out the door and down the sidewalk.

Relaxed diner, family friendly dining with hearty home cooked meals.
I was staying at the Whycocomagh Provincial Park up the road, and had checked into a few restaurants in the area to see what the reviews were like before settling on this spot. We went in for breakfast, and we were not disappointed. Although a small breakfast menu they had the typical options. We both went with the number 2 which included 2 eggs, toast, and choice of meat, we went with the bacon. We also added the home fries for an additional $2. We couldn't believe the amount of food, and the amount of bacon, we actually got a pile of it. Usually at most restaurants now breakfast is hurtin as far as I am concerned, and over-priced. Here the price was cheap and the quality of food was good. The home fries were actually real potatoes and had nice flavoring. We would definitely recommend them. Nice to see there is still a place out there that knows how to make a great breakfast that isn't at a ridiculous price.

Open May - October, 7 days a week. Serving Breakfast, lunch and Dinner. Lot of home baked goodies to choose from. Licensed, ,serving beer and wine.
Four of us stopped in for breakfast on a Friday morning. The place is situated along the Cabot Trail. It has plenty of parking outside with a tourist setting of moose antlers ready for photos. The inside is very clean and bright. It offers very good and fresh options to choose from with reasonable prices. It has a great little bakery that taunts you on your way out. A very nice place to stop.

This has a variety of food and we ate there once while in town. The food is good and the service great.
This restaurant was recommended to our party of seven, for dinner before attending a concert in Sydney. Reservations are not taken, but we were fortunate to be seated right away, despite the restaurant, which seats only about 30, being very busy. The food was fantastic! The best meal we had during our six days in Cape Breton. Our server was great, and the prices were very reasonable. Highly, highly recommend!
