I had wanted to try eating at the Mill Street Tavern for a while, as I was hearing good reviews. We arrived for dinner, were not greeted, but I had to ask the person at the cash register behind the bar if we seated ourselves? With her affirmative answer, we seated ourselves on the patio. We were waited on in good time and our servers were attentive with our food. Where it started to go south was when the food arrived. My husband's New York Strip steak was not medium as he requested, it was an overcooked, very tough piece of meat with plenty of gristle. We took the steak home for the dog. I ordered baja fish tacos. I questioned if I wanted fish tacos made with salmon, but I love fish tacos! And they had a cilantro lime sauce with them, which makes them even better! Unfortunately, the salmon tacos were awful! My salmon was in teeny tiny pieces lumped at the bottom of the taco, topped with very few (countable) black beans, melted cheese, lettuce. The cilantro lime sauce I looked forward to was flavorless. My parents split the cod dinner. Mom asked for a dinner roll and the waiter said they were only included with the salad. Mom said she had to smear her baked cod with the tarter sauce for some flavor. As I walked out I questioned what someone would have eaten here that was so good as to make a recommendation to eat here.

Had dessert at the bakery after lunch. Everything looked awesome. We has filled Bismarcks that were delicious. $2.50 for both. I recommend a stop to satisfy your sweet tooth!

Awesome burgers, great flavor and 80 different choices. Not only are the toppings and combination good, but the ground beef is also very good and cooked right.
The service was fast and friendly, even during the lunch rush.
If you like horseradish, they have some of the best horseradish sauce I've ever had!

Travelers along route 52 should plan a stop at Nick's Diner in quaint Canon Falls. The owners prepare routine diner food but with top quality ingredients (local sourced focus) and talented cooking skills way above the typical diner short order cook. Turkey club prepared with fresh roasted (no, not the deli roll stuff) Turkey, served on delicious bread. Cheddar cheese burger and chips - high yum factor! Clean, efficient, and great food, can't Sk for much more when traveling or for those lucky enough to live nearby.

A small, independently owned venue that is like a Dairy Queen from 60 years ago. There is small inside dining areas with 50s memorabilia that adds to the quaintness. They have the usual assortment of shakes, burgers, sandwiches, and soft serve ice cream. For those with good cholesterol profiles, I recommend the "bag of sliders".

I was there this summer with a large group (15). The only people who enjoyed their dinner were the few that ordered filet mignon. I had a hamburger steak, and it was good. However, everyone else, especially those that chose seafood, were very unhappy with the food. The salads were bland. The relish trays weren't fresh. The baked potato was OK. Just not impressed, and haven't been in a long time. I won't be going back unless I'm forced to go because of a gathering, and I won't be ordering anything but the hamburger steak.

This place is excellent in all ways: service is exceptional, food is great, deck is excellent. Prices good. Location rural and half way to lots of places! Just 3 miles off 52! Well worth it.

Our group spent three camping at Lake Byllesby near Cannon Falls over Labor Day weekend. We decided to go out on Friday night of the weekend instead of cooking in camp. We were more than pleased with our choice. Even though the kitchen was out of the dish that was my first choice; I enjoyed the spicy shrimp meal that was my second choice. Our drinks came out in a timely fashion with 2 servings of chips and salsas (there were 5 of us...). There was an abundance of food and everyone loved what they ordered. We will definitely return to this restaurant.

Driving from the Twin cities to Rochester, we wanted an ice cream treat. It is right next to the highway, but you have to take the next exit, 1/4 mile turn right, another half mile turn right again. Then another 1/4 mile and you have arrived. Half gravel, half paved parking lot, a few outdoor tables and more inside. We each ordered a Blizzard. In my opinion the best item on the menu. They overfilled mine and it was spilling over the top. We heard someone else order a Banana Cream Pie Shake. Never heard of it and it isn't on the menu.
