Since 1978, Fairfax City's most popular restaurant. Enjoy boathouse favorites surrounded by handcrafted wooden boat scale models and Jack Gable's view of Lake Winnipesaukee.
Located in an aging shopping center in Fairfax, Artie's is a member of the excellent American Restaurant Group which includes Coastal Flats and Sweet waters. Reservations are a good idea because even at lunch on a midweek day the restaurant was very busy. The menu is diverse with accommodation for gluten allergies. Husband had a delicious pasta and my fresh sea bass with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus was perfectly prepared.

I have bought a dessert only in September and then I returned today (October) to have their quiche lunch special. This place is unique, authentic, and delicious!!

An intimate restaurant where everyone was warm and helpful and the complimentary Afgan bread and four dips made you feel like you found your new home.
The Hot Mazza Assortment appetizer (leek ane scallion turnover; roasted butternut squash, roasted eggplant puree, and leek dumping) is excellent and almost enough for a full meal.
The Sabzi Turnover (Boulanee) were phillo dough stuffed with spinich, kale, collard green, turnip leaves, and mustard greens and cilantro with an avocado chutney allows you to get a variety of healthy greens in a very pleasing manner.
The Pumpkin Dumplings with their thin shell wrappings were wonderful, heated up the next day.
The Sheer Birinj (Afgan rice pudding with cardamon and crushed pistachios) was delicious.
The Doogh yogurt drink came in a huge plastic beer mug was very healthy and generous, but it gave me a night of smelly gas. Not recommended if you have to go back to work or a movie later or if you want to impress your date. 8-)

The small chain of these restaurants (includes Coastal Flats and others) is tough to beat. Consistently excellent service and food, regardless of where you go. Our first time here and they didn't disappoint. A good sized group (8) and one waiter who kept up for the most part. Food and drinks delivered promptly. Didn't have anything fancy, a BBQ burger. Quite tasty but had to revert to a fork as the BBQ sauce is placed under the burger and the bun and sandwich fall apart (put the sauce under the cheese) and your hands get covered in sauce. Will definitely return and have a more substantial meal. Parking is a bear here and they pack it in....not sure if they call-ahead or reservations. We arrived at 4 pm on a Sunday and the place was packed and few places to park.

The place is tiny but offers really great bread and scones and an delicious bread pudding. You can see how they bake in the back while you shop/eat. They also offer interesting bread flavors like spinach, or spreads like strawberry butter. Service is really nice!

Our go to really great Thai restaurant was a bit flat this past weekend. We went on Saturday, had indifferent service and even the food was mixed. Something was off about the whole experience and as there were only three tables occupied you'd think the staff would be attentive instead hiding in the back and playing with their cell phones. Think we'll stick to weekdays from now on.

We love Eleni’s! Try the lamb kebab or the spaghetti with seafood, or, if you’re there for lunch, the reuben or the gyro, and be sure to get some of those marvelous Greek potatoes. The salads are always fresh and cold and crisp, and I love their house dressing. Everything is delicious. It’s a bit tricky to find, but you won’t be disappointed.
