We had lunch mid-afternoon after arriving about 13:30. Looked at several options and selected this restaurant. Very good quality buffet with many options for salads, entrees and desserts. For the 4 of us without wine or beer, the total bill was R$379 (US$114)...not bad since it became our main meal instead of dinner. A very good value!

The food was perfect! You must try de Ribs with goiabada, the Jaba Aquió and the Pastéis de Angu. It was delicious! The Caipirinha was also great. The ambient is restful and the view is very beautiful.

My husband and I prefer to avoid crows and like enjoying nature, so when it was time for lunch we went to Rancho do Peixe, a quiet place where we savored a fish meal looking at a pond and actually listening to birds singing, ducks quacking, geese honking and the wind blowing, without any background music being played.
To get there we drove a short distance from Belo Horizonte on a very easy paved road, except for the last kilometer that is a not too rough dirt road. The ride gave us amazing views of the city and Mountains, and when passing below Serra da Moeda we saw gliders coloring the sky. Finding the restaurant is easy, just follow the signs on the road.
The place is a small very simple farm, the ambience is totally rustic, not fancy rustic. The service is courteous and caring, our waiter had that sweet peacefull demeanor and country charm.
We ordered Truta defumada com molho de hortelã (smoked trout with mint sauce) as an apetizer, and Moqueca de Piratininga (kind of a fish stew in coconut milk) as the main dish. Prices on the menu are for dishes that serve 2 people, but you can also order ½ portions. Food is prepared at the moment, delicious and plentifull!
At our visit, on a Tuesday lunch hour, we were the only people there for the most part, perfect for us! Towards the end another couple arrived, and we assume they asked for music, for only then it started to play. We paid our bill with credit card and took our doggie bag with moqueca left overs to enjoy the next day.

Specialized in Arab cuisine, the restaurant uses a lot of spices and fresh ingredients A Casa de Abrahao Bistro Arabe is surrounded by a green area, what makes it a calm spot. Under the command of Antonio Abrahao, a Syrian descendant, the kitchen prepares typical recipes from Middle East. In the menu, lamb served in the pumpkin with yogurt and white rice. To whet your appetite, there's a serving mix of kibbeh nayeh, vegetarian kibbeh, salmonated trout with crunchy walnuts, spiced chestnuts, dips and breads. To sweeten the taste, there's a flan with a touch of musk and apricot syrup.
Casa de Abrahao is a very good Lebanese restaurante. The food is excellent, it is very cozy and recently the menu has been changed and there are many options to taste. Abrahao is always there comanding the restaurant, which makes a big difference. The prices are ok but the portions are small. You must have the bread and the labane. It's really delicious.

During the two days we visited Inhotim, we went twice to have lunch at Oiticica. The first day, a Thursday, we succeeded; the second, a Saturday, we were defeated by the crowds.
This restaurant is the pay-by-weight alternative in Inhotim. The dining room is huge but very pleasant, with a high ceiling and large floor-to-ceiling windows that open to the park.
The food is offered in a long counter, with many hot and cold dishes, as well as desserts. Food quality is quite good, mostly local specialties. It is nice to be able to sample small portions to have a taste of everything.
There are a couple downsides, however.
The first is that lines are always huge. Take all the food you want the first time around, because you will probably not be willing to go back a second time. On our second day, we arrived 10 minutes before opening and people were already queuing up in several directions.
Some groups had Reservations, which added to the confusion. After waiting for some time, we simply gave up and had some snacks in one of the cafes.
Additionally, I believe that staff is not really prepared to handle the crowds. The servers were friendly but it was difficult to catch their attention.
I only recommend Oiticica during off hours or weekdays.

Os restaurantes estão situados dentro de uma Villa Italiana, que valoriza a Gastronomia italiana e a Gastronomia Uruguaia com um toque de cozinha internacional.
The restaurant is in a beautiful location with a great view of the countryside from the balcony. It was extremely clean and the owner welcomed us like we were old friends. Service was excellent. The Gnocchi with ossobucco was outstanding. We had a combo lunch which included a bottle of wine and dessert. Best Italian food I have has in BH over the last year.

We arrived at Confins airport late in the morning and on the way to Inhotim we stopped at this road side eatery, which has a very nice bakery to go along with it. Foi uma boa opção depois de passarmos um dia em Inhotim e depois da orgia gastronômica feita no almoço no restaurante Tamboril. Crepes variados, pizzas, cerveja gelada e atendimento atencioso

This is the cheaper restaurant inside Inhotim , it's R$22,00 per plate buffet style but u can only make one plate lol . It was very good , homemade , typical Brazilian food, desserts were also delish. Now, they didn't have caipirinhas so the guy talked me into getting this artisanal beer and when I went to pay the bill , each beer was R$32,50 which is totally absurd . Kids eat free, they have tables outside in a garden w lake view , fabulous !
