We had an early lunch here, then spent the afternoon hiking and swimming and soaking at hot springs, then stopped for ice creams late in the day. Everything was good, the staff were friendly, the price was fair, and the bathrooms were clean too! I was impressed at the vegetarian options at this burger and ice cream joint on the main drag through town, try it next time!
Salmon Burger - Very good (one person said it was too soft/squishy)
Black bean chipotle burger - Excellent (add mushrooms to make it perfect)
Fries & Curly Fries - Both OK, the regular fries were great, the curly fries were a bit overcooked, dry and brittle
Ice Teas - Arizona in the can, but the can tops were clean, not everyplace thinks to wipe down their can tops which can be really gross from storage dust and dirt
Ice Cream - Absolutely Fabulous - Pick a flavor and cover it with good chocolate, yum.
Prices very fair, not cheap but you get good portions and good food for the cost
2 Salmon Burgers, 2 fries, 2 ice teas = $20
1 Black Bean Chipotle Burger with Mushrooms, curly fries & ice tea - $14
3 Chocolate Dipped Ice Creams were less than $10

The Virginia Creek Settlement is nestled in the natural beauty of the eastern slopes of the High Sierra within easy driving distance to Bodie Ghost Town, Mono Lake, Tioga Pass, Yosemite National Park, June Lake and Mammoth Lakes. Stop by on your way to Carson City, Virginia City, Reno, and Lake Tahoe. The resort is centrally located to some of the best fishing in the eastern slopes of the High Sierra.
Stayed here in the main building in a suite with friends. Quirky, but fine! Ate in the restaurant and food was good. Service was very good and the host was extremely helpful, not just to us but to other travellers form other countries.

I stopped on my way out of town on a Monday. (They are closed on Sundays.) They had a decent selection of baked goods. I had the maple turtle and it was pretty good.

Friendly staff! Nice and clean facilities. Has a selection of pastries and a large selection of coffee/tea drinks. It is like having your morning coffee and pastry in someone's house. Great stop if you are looking for a small bite to eat and/or your morning cup of coffee. There is also a small gift shop selection filled with eclectic variance of items like coffee mugs and water bottles, plus a great smelling locally made soap.

My husband and I were excited to take our son here for the first time. We always eat at Rhino's in Bridgeport, generally 4 or 5 times a year.
We stopped in Sunday night, about 7:00, exhausted after a 14 mile hike on Tioga, on our way home, two hours away. We hoped to pop in and get a quick burger before continuing home.
We went in and there were two empty tables and a girl told us to sit wherever we wanted. So we sat down and looked at the menu. I was so disappointed to see my favorite burger, the Teriyaki Burger was no longer available! The waitress told us it wasn't popular so they removed it. My husband and I ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger, my son the Garden Burger and Mozzarella Sticks.
We ordered right after the couple next to us. At around 30 minutes after ordering, our Mozzarella Sticks finally arrived when they brought the couple's meal next to us and they were very good.
It was another 20 minutes before our burgers arrived and we were almost going to leave.
So the burgers are much smaller than they used to be and the amount of fries was about half of what they used to serve! They were still very good, just not anywhere near the value we have come to expect. So we ate quickly so we could get back in the road, since we have now been there for an hour. During that time the couple next to us, who finished before our burgers even arrived, were ready to pay and could not get their check. They just left some money on the table and walked out.
We had not seen our waitress since she brought our burgers and we waited about 10 minutes and she was no where to be found. We stood up hoping someone would notice and bring out check- nothing! I finally caught a girl going by, who didn't even look at us until I had to practically yell at her that we needed our check. She asked who our waitress was and I said, " I don't know but she was terrible!"
So another guy finally brought our check (to be honest I really wanted to just walk out and leave a few dollars, since not one of the 4 employees was paying any attention to us and the place was nearly empty by now) and asked how everything was. I told him I was very disappointed and asked if they had new management. He said they did. I told him I could tell as the burgers were much smaller and he tried to tell me they were the same size. We didn't feel like arguing about that or the amount of fries, so my husband just signed the receipt and left no tip. Hope they get the message!
The only reason I did not give them a terrible rating is the burgers are still good.

This place was awesome! It may have been that we had just come down from the mountains after a backpacking trip, but we thought everything tasted so good! The burgers were big. I had a mushroom swiss burger and my husband had a bacon blue cheese burger. We also ordered the chili cheese fries, which were massive and delicious! Definitely more than enough to share. They also sell decently-priced beer.
There is indoor and outdoor seating. It can get very crowded, especially on Sunday afternoons. When we were there, they actually stopped taking orders for about 15 minutes (they just shut the window) so they could catch up on orders. There are only a couple bathroom stalls. There is a parking lot.

BLTs - the hard core of iceberg lettuce - clumps; one strip of bacon on each half of the sandwich, white bread from a package. Buffalo (chicken) wings. OK, but not worth bragging about. Under staffed. Only two waitresses during a bizzy lunch time.

Bridgeport is pretty small so I guess nearly everything is in walking distance. This was just around the corner from where we stayed the night.
The service was pretty good. Our server was a lovely young woman from Romania. We chatted briefly as she brought our drinks and then food. There are not a lot of menu choices. We tried the Mexican food. It was good, but nothing to write home about. It was more expensive than in less rural areas, but not excessively so.

This is an outdoor sandwich shop - walk-up, order window, picnic tables. For that reason it may be seasonal. It's right on the main road through town. The service was friendly and the burgers were very good. The prices were reasonable - about $15.00 for two adults with burgers, fries and drinks. The dining area was clean.
Don't forget, NO FRIES WITH THE $7.95 BURGERS!
So, I had a fish taco. It appeared to be two small fish nuggets wrapped in a soft shell taco with lettuce, etc. Surprise! This didn't come with fries either, and it still cost me around 7 bucks.

This guy knows how to make a hearty sandwich. You on a fishing trip and need some substance for the day? Man, Albert's got you covered. Just passing through, wayward traveler? Get a sandwich and then get some choice, quality cuts of meat from his counter ( the bacon is great! So great! )
