Eagles Nest Resturant

We spent too much money for a nicely flavored but skimpy lobster stew, and fried clams that were mostly coating. I got the runs from the lobster stew a couple of hours later, and my husband had to chew antacids from that fried coating. Too bad about the food and over-pricing. The hostess/server was very nice, and the atmosphere was nice and simple with a pretty river view. Can't think I'd ever want to return, though.

I am not a fan of cake or anything of that sort, but this place does it right! I tried their red velvet cake (which cake I normally DREAD), but this was so good!

All of their pastries, breads, cakes, etc.... are just so dang good. I've been back a couple times and have never had an issue. The prices are amazing too! Their doughnuts and pastries cost less than that of the grocery store!! Definitely check them out!

Timber Kitchen and Bar

Our family has enjoyed brunch at Timber several times. The food is always perfectly cooked. Service has been consistently good. Easter brunch featured lamb at the carving station and it was delicious! The prime rib at the carving station was also very good. The chef serving the meats was friendly and kept a sense of humor when faced with difficult people. There were some patrons complaining about "running out of ham and pork" at the carving station. How ridiculous. It's not an all you can eat buffet. The intent of the station is to feature roasted meats on a rotational basis as part of the brunch menu. There are plenty of local restaurants that feature ham or pork dinners for Easter if that's what you're looking for. We enjoyed our experience and we will return again soon. One detail item I would suggest would be including spoons and steak knives for guests who order coffee or choose to enjoy the roasted meats provided as part of the brunch menu. Otherwise don't change a thing! Thank you for sharing Easter with us!

Stopped here while walking through Bangor and looking for outdoor seating (we had our little dogs with us). This fit the bill. We had a Dark Tower and Meatball sandwich. Both were good. Ingredients were fresh and tasty. Staff was helpful and friendly. Dogs loved sitting on the corner and watching.

Friars' Bakehouse

Friars' Bakehouse is a small bakery smack in the downtown of Bangor, Maine. It is operated by the Franciscan Brothers of St. Elizabeth of Hungary. The baking brother is a master at his craft. Due to the fact that the establishment has only one baker and all of the baked goods are artisan, you will not find the variety that is available at larger thaw and bake bakeries. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Friday from 8:30 a. m. until 2:00 p. m. When the shop is closed, Friars' breads are available at the Fairmount Market on Hammond St.Friars' Brewhouse is a adjunct to but, separate from the bakery. The baker has branched out and is now creating artisan beers in the same manner that he creates breads and pastries. The actual Brewhouse is located on the 34 acre grounds of St. Elizabeth Monastery perched on the side of Orcutt Mountain in lovely Bucksport, Maine. NO BEER IS SOLD OUT OF THE FRIARS' BAKEHOUSE! We have teamed up with Bangor Wine and Cheese Co. on Hammond Street. All of our fine brews are available there on a regular basis. Stop in at the Bangor Wine and Cheese an say, "Hello!" to Eric and Christine.

There were four of us today. We ordered two chicken caesar salads; one chicken salad sandwich and then one vietnamese sandwich special. The salads were good, loaded with meat. The chicken salad sandwich was bland, and appeared as though it had only mayonnaise in it with a pound of chicken. It was quite boring. The vietnamese sandwich was a favorite among the group. I would highly recommend that sandwich, and would go back tomorrow for it, and the next day too.

We had a business meeting here for four people. We were never rushed, and the location is quite suitable for chatting.

We had two sushi appetizers and two kitchen appetizers- the beef tataki is amazing! Everyone had different meals and none were disappointed. The pork katsu was a particular favorite.

This is a great place with fantastic staff and management. Cannot wait to return for more delicious items!

Like the atmosphere at the Longhorn, friendly staff, very attentive. The food was excellent. I ordered a small fillet which was done to perfection, (medium rare) and was delicious. I'm not giving them a high rating because there wasn't much else on the plate. Two choices for sides, I picked a baked potato and a salad. Next time I go I'll be ordering something extra because it really wasn't enough.

Humble Comfort Food and Spirits

Reviewed By Fishrwmn

Tristen was our waiter, very friendly, offering recommendations for a late lunch. I had the bacon bleu cheese burger, it came out hot, smelled wonderful, brimming with crispy fresh cooked bacon, sprinkled with nice chunks of bleu cheese, topped with crisp romaine lettuce, and a slice of tomato. On the side was a amazing pickle and the housemade chips. Humble pie was ordered also, it has a deep richness to the slow cooked braised beef, the carrots and onions melted in your mouth. The mashed potatoes were just amazingly awesome. After trying to finish the main meal, we were tempted by the peanut butter velvet pie, and the blueberry shortcake. Both were to die for! First time here and it felt like lunch with friends, absolutely love Humble!!! A little hard to find, but once you find it, you will be back. Hint it's at the lights, across from Cianbro, and next to schoolhouse antique mall.
