Braunton is an English village, civil parish, ecclesiastical parish and former manor in North Devon. The village is situated 5 miles (8 km) west of Barnstaple. While not the largest village in England, it is amongst the most populous in Devon with a population at the 2011 census of 7,353 people. There are two electoral wards (East and West). Their joint population at the above census was 8,218. Within the parish is the fertile, low-lying Braunton Great Field, which adjoins the undulating Braunton Burrows, the Core Area in North Devon Biosphere Reserve, the largest psammosere (sand dune system) in England. It confronts the Atlantic Ocean at the west of the parish at the large beach of Saunton Sands, one of the South West's international-standard surfing beaches.

Le bistro du Coin / The Corner Bistro is a relaxed and genuine French restaurant aiming at serving quality local products with a french twist. Now Boasting a Garden for drinks and nibbles
We were back in France as we went through the door of this excellent little restaurant. Our hosts were welcoming and entertaining, the food was delicious......... the complimentary platter of hors-d'oeuvres which I wasn't expecting was very welcome.
I enjoyed a warm crab mousse, followed by rib eye steak (cooked just right) and we all finished with the selection of at least five taster desserts which included a little melting chocolate pudding. A lovely evening .......... thank you!!

Down in Croyde Bay for a long weekend, we visited The Thatch twice and on both occasions were very impressed.
This is a beautiful old building which has obviously been extensively extended over the years, but it retains an 'old fashioned' atmosphere.
Service was friendly and welcoming, and it's one of the few pubs I've been to where there's table service.
There's a reasonable selection of real ales, ciders and lagers.
The menu is comprehensive and food quality is excellent.
Prices were higher than a normal pub, but don't forget this is a holiday area and quality was good.
Even though we were out of season, on both Friday night and Saturday lunchtime business was brisk, so if you're planning to visit for a meal (as opposed to just a pint or two) my advice would be to book.
Thoroughly recommended.

Home cooked locally sourced breakfast, meals and snacks. Freshly made smoothies, juices and excellent coffee. Private hire availble. Fully licensed.
Just off the square in Braunton in amongst surf shops and boutiques with Seating outside in a corner of the car park and inside. Really good home cooked food, not your everyday baguettes/jacket pots. Can recommend the mixed bean chilli and corn fritters, the humous and falafel salad wraps also very good. All day breakfasts looked and smelled good too. Local beer available. Free xln wifi and excellent coffee.

Welcome to the RiversideBraunton's favourite family-run restaurant situated in the heart of the village on the banks of the River Caen.Owned and run by local brother and sister duo David and Hayley Charlesworth. The Riverside prides itself on lovingly delivering the freshest dishes, at affordable prices, in a welcoming family atmosphere. The Charlesworth family even grow many of the ingredients used in the menu at their family farm, situated just outside the village.
What an amazing night we had for our work Christmas dinner! Lovely drinks on arrival, and cocktails. The food was outstanding, especially the starter of smoked haddock scotch egg...incredible! The only slightly negative comment i have about the mains was the Brussels sprouts. Why was there mustard on them? It made them taste really bitter...such a waste of delicious sprouts! Other than that, everything was delicious. I will return with my other half as he was most jealous!

Situated within a walled garden on a National Trust site at Baggy Point in North Devon. Sandleigh consists of a Tea Room, Allotment Garden and Interiors shop, The Oyster Catcher.
I know we were out of season but it was a glorious sunny day in half term. It’s a lovely little place, more room outside than in, in pretty Gardens. However, the food was mediocre. There were 8 of us , 3 of whom had the cream tea. there was a very long wait and the drinks were served first and then quarter of an hour later the scones arrived but we had already drunk the tea. We then had to wait another ten minutes at least, for the sandwiches and then another long wait for the hot food. The had run out of bread so our order had to be changed. I know they were short staffed and it was out of season but it was very disjointed service. Scones were lovely but pasties were mediocre. It was ok but expensive for poor service.

The Manor House Inn sits in the pretty village of Croyde with glorious sandy Beaches and delightful countryside. The original pub in Croyde is a 16th century former coaching inn, where the old coach house still stands. There is a large restaurant & conservatory overlooking the courtyard and large children's play area. The bar is spacious and in character with the building, where there is a wide range of local ales, ciders and beers along with an extensive wine list. A freshly prepared, locally sourced menu & specials board is available every day, from local fish, meats & vegetables to simple sandwiches. There is also a comprehensive children's menu. We show all major sporting events via Sky &BT Sport on our large screens as well as regular live music, pool table, darts and skittles. You can be sure of a warm welcome at The Manor House Inn - just as it should be!!!
My wife and I went with our youngest daughter and my father in law. We had a pleasant meal. It's been refurbished recently and looks nice and clean inside. The staff were lovely and very helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The food was good but I wouldn't call it great. The fish pie was tasty but short on fish, the duck was lovely, the lamb sirloin was lovely but the day hadn't been rendered art all so had to be cut off as it was inedible and my burger had a lovely flavour but was was hard as it has been overcooked and was slightly burned making it very tough to cut and the pulled pork, whilst having a lovely flavour was also overcooked and hard. It was an acceptable meal but with a little more care in the cookng it would have been amazing. Despite this experience I would say it's a good place to visit. Just an off day I would say.

Located just a scone's throw from the traditional pannier market in Barnstaple town centre, we at The Cream Tea Café are on a Mission to provide you with the freshest food possible, and so to help us in this quest, we make the vast majority of our food from scratch here in our kitchen. We source other ingredients from local suppliers to bring you the very best Devon has to offer.
I have been here a number of times, and would definitely recommend it. The cakes are great....and all home baked. Service is pleasant and it’s a nice relaxed atmosphere. It is quite small so sometimes difficult to squeeze in but it’s definitely one to try if you haven’t already.
