They're famous for their crumb cake- and it may be the world's best.
We also love the Rainbow Cookies- they are also one of the best we've ever had!
Numerous other cookies & pastries we have had are excellent!
On the negative side we don't love the spice cake or the small hand-held fruit pies- but maybe we just don't care for these items in general.

Probably eat in Amarone once or twice a month. Very consistent service, excellent menu and accommodating hosts (Nick and Nick). Kind of quiet, but nothing wrong with that.

During the summer season and again in the Fall we bought various ice cream flavors here. Even though the ice cream was quite good the "stone-cold" arrogant attitudes displayed toward us soured our appetites. Observing the impatience and anger of the employees when children changed their mind shocked me. If they hate their jobs that much why not hire new employees ? Moreover, the portions on an Ice Cream Sunday are too small given the high prices. Why are the tables unsanitary knowing that families bring children to sit down for cakes and sweets ? With so few tables available one expects cleanliness but even the floor was sticky. There are cleaner places in Bergen County serving fine homemade ice cream where customers are accorded greater respect. We'll return during Summer 2018 to see if there is any improvement.

If Cuban food is your thing then this is the place. All of the typical dishes are here and they're cooked to perfection. The Ropa Vieja is top on the list followed by the churrasco. Great home made empanadas with several typical of fillings. It's a bring your own bottle and the sangria is definitely worth an order. Prepare for a nice night out but make a reservation especially on the weekends because this place fills up quickly.

When Balthazar first opened, I worked within walking distance. Several years later, I was relieved that there would now be a longer distance between me and the bakery. But the memory of the buttery croissants, scones, and palmiers compels me back.
The key is to buy lots of stuff when you go. All of their items freeze remarkably well, even the delicate pastries. The breads are to die for, all of them, but especially the cranberry/pecan. Whatever is left of your baguette from the night before makes a delicious breakfast of toast (with real butter, preferably Irish, on top). And the staff is helpful and calm even in the face of an endless line of people asking questions about the ingredients.
Another piece of advice is not to focus on how much you just spent for treats and breads. It's worth it!

I either order for take out or dine in if its a weekday lunch because its less crowded. There are maybe 30 seats on the side to dine in so very small. My favorite dinner is the penne vodka with shrimp & scallops. You cant go wrong with anything, oh and like most local spots its BYOB.

Teaneck Road Hot Bagels provides the most outstanding bagel with phenomenal service. It is New York City quality coupled with New York City speed of service but with some of the nicest, most polite people you will ever meet. A perfect coupling of service with excellent bagels! Don't miss it.

We have been to Riviera Maya several times. It's family owned, and the owner's son was our attentive waiter this time. We took my brother and sister in law. My brother was reluctant because he has only had tex mex, and is not a fan of cumin. We always start out with the made at the table guacamole, very rich and creamy. Reasonably priced compared to other nearby restaurants. Well he had the chicken enchiladas, which he loved. I had the veggie enchiladas, as did my SIL. Hubby had the beef tacos. Let me say its a BYOB. They have margarita mix that they will serve you for your tequila ( my friend sais it is delicious) while I prefer a cold cervasa with my food. Another menu item, pollo pibil, which is chicken marinated, served with rice, beans and cactus. It is delicious. Family has also had chicken fajitas as well as beef fajitas and reported it was very good. Waitstaff is excellent, chiops and salsa included. I find the food is more like authentic, not tourist mexican

Had dinner reservations here for an early Valentine's Day dinner celebration. Our waiter Franklin was impeccable with his service and making sure we had everything we needed during our dinner (we hope our tip reflected our happiness with him!). Best lobster bisque we ever had...creamy with large chunks of lobster in it. The Filet Mignon, Tenderloin, Lobster tails and South African Lobster Tail was cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. Not lost were the sides too...probably the best Au Gratin potatoes I've ever had. Dessert was fantastic too which we weren't able to finish due to being so stuffed from everything we had prior. Can't comment on the wine selection as we didn't order drinks but it looks like they had a nice wine collection.
While this meal was more on the pricey side of what we normally spend when we go out, I knew what the prices were going to be before hand and I thought everything we had was reasonably priced for what we got.
