The people Red attracted, they were the inspiration. The patrons of a wine boutique turned out to be people who were open to the finer experiences. What a pleasure to fulfill their interests in fine food, good company and quality service. In rising to those requirements we found Red had become a restaurant, unique in its focus on the pleasure of an evening. Wine was the starting point. Beyond the snobbery that once surrounded wine in America, Red let’s you explore, enjoy and fulfill your interest, your own way, using a serving instrument that’s unique to our region. Please consider this your own invitation to join us for an evening soon.
Please! Try Red, The Restaurant & Wine Boutique. Located quietly in the Bluffton strip mall where Best Buy is located, it seems out of the ordinary for a location. But walk inside and you feel as if you walked into Tuscany, Piemonte or Umbria, to a small family eatery with exceptional wine values and such variety. The chef, from New Zealand, is so talented. Try his NZ Rack of Lamb although he will wow you with specials he changes up based upon the seasons. And sometimes while in the Bluffton area just doing errands, stop by for a nice glass of red or white and just order a cheese platter or his charcuterie assembly. Trust me, you will come back.

I expected excellence, because I knew chef Joe casually and his hardcore background in the business. The dishes for my girlfriend and I a few nights ago blew us away, even better than Patsy's in NYC, Sinatra's hangout. She had four gigantic, tender sea scallops...MoreThank you very much for your review of our establishment.it is rewarding knowing my cuisine is comparable and or better than Patsy's in New York City./Sinatra's stomping ground.i was there many times and I don't eat out Italian very often.grazi and ciao..Joe/chef/owner

Claude & Uli's Bistro is a small unpretentious European restaurant and bar, serving classic French-style bistro fare at affordable prices.

Please note we are closed between lunch and dinner from 2pm-5pm.
We visit this restaurant regularly but mostly for special occasion meals: anniversary, birthdays & when entertaining out of town relatives and or guests!
Claude is always ready to prepare non-menue meals whenever we desire something special & they're always delicately presented & deliciously prepared.
Uli is most gracious & always ready to suggest the best wine parings.

Our menu changes frequently, inspired by the seasonal bounty of local produce, cultural traditions from around the world, and new culinary ideas. We grow a lot of our own produce and we select other farmers based on a mutual respect for the land, the animals, and the people who tend to them. We portion our plates modestly, encouraging guests to explore several dishes at the peak of the season.
This is a wonderful small restaurant in downtown Bluffton. We parked on the street. We enjoyed dinner here. We had some small plates to share and the larger plates for dinner. Three of our diners had pork chops which were moist and tender as well as tasty. I had the steak special which was also very good. The small plates were excellent as well, the grilled oysters, and the carrot dish. My friend had a draught beer. We had the hand pie for dessert along with French press coffee. Wow, fantastic! Service was excellent as well. There is indoor and outdoor dining here.

As always, The Bluffton Room crushes it! Our party of four was seated immediately upon arrival, which is par for the course at this restaurant. The Bluffton Room is always more than willing to making slight adjustments to any of their fine dishes, if anyone in your party so desires. The ladies ordered Kale salads as starters and were in seventh heaven. I had a special of Jonah Crab Claws as my starter. They were tender and sweet, but not as meaty as their cousin Dungeness or Stone Crab's claws. On my next visit, if offered again, I would opt for my two standbys, She Crab Soup or Pan Seared Scallops. My brother loved his Sushi starter. Three of us had the Clams In Bucatini Pasta, with Shrimp and Beef Chorizo, in a white wine butter sauce as our mains. We all agreed this dish was absolutely delicious and generous in portion. My brother ordered the Hudson Valley Duck for his main course and he thought it was excellent. No room for dessert this visit but, the Key Lime Pie is always wonderful. Valet parking a big plus especially on weekends. In our book, The Bluffton Room still remains the best in town!

I love curry chicken salad. Truffles serves great curry chicken salad. It comes with a very good mixed greens salad and fries. I substituted broccoli for the fries (there were several options) and I was very pleased with my choice. Portions are ample. I would’ve been full with just that but I did also have a cup of the tasty tomato basil soup. Service was excellent and ambience was nice. I’ll happily have this exact same meal again in the future.

You won't regret this place. Owner works the prep area and clearly genuinely cares about his customers and food quality. Ribs literally fall off the bone...seriously. pulled pork is stellar, remarkable, etc. Did I mention they care about everything?

Remember when a lobster roll was just a lobster roll? Remember when the cuisine of the South meant hush puppies, collard greens, fried chicken, gravy & biscuits? It seems that in many Southern restaurants, they are no longer interested in---for whatever reason---keeping to good Southern food. So now we have Banh Mi's and New York bagels where no one knows how to make them. Ditto for this lovely-looking restaurant that thought a lobster roll deserved to be made hot, with shrimp, mango and avocado smothering it! I highly recommend the ham and cheese sandwich. The waiter was very apologetic about the first meal and took it back. Most of the other offerings on the menu were also tampered with way beyond understanding. Don't change good food and make it inedible! Lovely outdoor dining and top notch servers.
