Named "the only place in the world where snow falls upside down" by Ripley's-Believe-It-Or-Not, the legendary Blowing Rock geological formation has been attracting visitors to its corner of North Carolina since 1933. The accompanying mountain village of Blowing Rock sits 4,000 feet above sea level along the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway. The winter brings enough snow to the nearby Blue Ridge Mountain peaks that it is possible to ski the south, staying over at one of Blowing Rocks charming B&Bs.

Located on top of Gideon Ridge, guests enjoy dining Al Fresco or in our intimate dining room. The cuisine is an eclectic blend of the freshest mountain ingredients, prepared in the classical style. Dinner served Tuesday - Saturday by reservation.
Chef Hunter prepares a magnificent meal in a perfect atmosphere. This cozy restaurant is perfect for that special night. The bison campanelle was a very good starter. The pork tenderloin melted in your mouth. It was served over a creamy risotto. An after dinner drink in front of the fire is as good as it gets.

I dare you to walk down the sidewalk and pass this place without drooling. They make their waffle cones and exhaust the smell straight out to the sidewalk. You'll find yourself going in to this place before you realize you want to. Great ice cream and fudge.

Camp Coffee Roasters, formerly known as Bald Guy Brew of Blowing Rock has a new name but we are still under the same great management with our same owners. We are located inside Footsloggers in an old stone building on Main Street in Blowing Rock. Up in the attic you will find our warn and cozy espresso bar. We look forward to presenting our fresh roasted - fair trade and organic coffees and finely crafted espresso drinks...CHEERS! Stop by and check out our new roastery as well.
I thought when they moved to their downstairs space service might improve. They are nice but totally unprepared to handle large volume of customers. If you know it is going to be a busy weekend staff up. You shouldn't have to wait 20 minutes to get a single black coffee.

Yesterday we picked up a bag of oatmeal cookies, and they were chewy, moist and delicious. Today we returned and split a slice of the beautiful fruit tart. It contained cherries, rhubarb, blueberries and strawberries. The fruit was generous and delicious, but the crust was limp and disappointing. It should have been made with a crispy cookie crust like Julia Child's.

We ate here 2 out of 3 mornings and wish we'd done the third. Great breakfast, lots of variety and the servers were very nice and efficient to a "T" to get every detail correct. Omelettes and biscuits were just super!

On a gorgeous fall day, we enjoyed a brunch of tomato Gouda soup, Mediterranean crepe and a cafe latte. Many daily specials on the chalkboard to choose from in addition to the printed menu. Come early to avoid a wait, or call day of for a reservation. Our waitress was friendly and organized with our group of 8. Loved the garden setting!

Our hotel recommend this restaurant. It was ok, average. We had the cheesesteak sandwiches. We are foodies and I didn't think the food was anything more than average. We ate at the Outback Steakhouse the next night~even though I hate to eat at chain restaurants while on vacation but it was a Sunday and there weren't many options. Outback was much better and the food was much better so I would say skip foggy rock and head to Outback.

A delightful, first class dining experience in a beautiful setting. We were blessed to be seated near a fire place which was lovely. The lobster bisque soup is wonderful and the seafood sampler had shrimp cocktail, oysters rockefeller and two small crab cakes which were the star of the show. All presented well and were done nicely.
A very romantic, special event place that has excellent service and great food. Would love to return!

One of Blowing Rock's most popular restaurants, Bistro Roca serves inventive American Bistro cuisine from Chef Seth Parker in a rustic yet elegant setting. Bistro Roca's superb staff combines efficient service with gracious hospitality and will delight you with a great selection of wines and mixed drinks from Antlers Bar
We enjoyed our dinner at Bistro Roca. We started with the figs wrapped in procuitto...which were not really that good - very salty and did not seem fresh. However, all our entrees (Shrimp and Grits, Steak, Brussel Spout salad w/ steak) were all very good. Our table by the window on patio was excellent and service was good too. My only real complaint is the $12 cocktail that was served in what looked like a tallish shot glass. I expect a larger serving of a cocktail at that price. Also the 91.5 health rating gave me a bit of pause ...but i didn't see that until after we were done with dinner. We will return to the Bistro if we return to Blowing Rock.

We visited this pub while visiting for a weekend. We decided to eat here after reading great reviews on Trip Advisor. We weren't disappointed! I had the Guinness stew and my husband had the Shepherd's Pie. Both were out of this world. The prices were reasonable, the staff was friendly and the service was exceptional. We would definitely eat here again!!!
