We came by for a meal on the way back to Toronto. We read reviews beforehand and had our expectations on the restaurants.
The restaurant did not disappoint us!!
The restaurant is very rustic and authentic and very popular by locals. When we entered the restaurant, it was 3:30pm, which is not really lunch time nor dinner time. The restaurant was almost full with locals!
We had pickerel and perogi with sausages.
The meal was delicious. The pickerel was very well seasoned. The perogi was very delicious as well. We bought two butter tarts (pecan and raisin) to make it to go. The butter tarts were very delicious. Wish we bought more!
Definitely will be happy to come back to this lovely charming and authentic restaurant in the future.

Tim Hortons is so popular with Canadians, and this particular one is in an ideal location. There isn't much else around. Perhaps we picked the wrong foods, but we were not impressed with the quality of what we had. They were out of a lot of food as the 6th bus of the day had just left. Two more were scheduled to stop later in the evening.

Kind of pricey for basic food. I ordered the special, stuffed chicken. The salad was served in a small bowl, so not much salad. I did get 2 scoops of mashed potatoes, and a nice serving if steamed mixed veggies. The chicken breast wasn't overly large or flavorful but it was ok. My boyfriend ordered the whitefish and echoed my sentiments, that the food was ok but just average, nothing special. Our 2 meals, with water to drink, cost $35, which seems a bit steep for what we got. We were there on a Saturday and they closed at 7pm. The waitress was trying to do dishes and end-of-evening wrap-up stuff while we were still eating.

Monique's is a newly renovated, restaurant, featuring French and Canadian cuisine.We specialize in homemade food.. Bread, and desserts. There is a private dining area that is available for group meetings, parties, or private dining for larger groups. Special international evenings, with food from different parts of the world are featured from time to time as well as live entertainment, wine tastings, scotch and beer tastings paired with food. And during the summer months Monique's features an all you can eat fish fry every Friday Night. We are also lining up several evenings of live entertainment. The atmosphere, the service and the great food makes Monique's a place to come, stay and relax while enjoying a delicious meal!

My daughter got married at the round bard in Thessalon this past weekend and she chose Monique's Catering based on recommendations from friends. The whole experience from the time she enquired to the awesome meal that was prepared was amazing! Monique invited her and fiancé (now husband) for a tasting event back in March. I was able to attend as I was out of town however my daughter raived about how awesome the food was. I was never concerned about the taste of the food itself but I must admit at first I had my doubts as to whether the food would be hot / presentable given that Blind River is about 20 minutes from the Round Barn. This doubt was quickly erased with the first course. A maple glazed salad that was the best salad dressing I have ever had. The chicken pesto and tenderloin, were out of this world. The roasted potatoes crazy good. I really can't say enough about how awesome the food was. Monique I need the recipes! The service was also great. Our guests were very complimenting. If you ever need catering for any function Monique's in Blind River is your place! Thank you Monique for making my daughters wedding so incredibly amazing! Angie

Friendly service at this Subway. Came here because there was literally no other restaurant open on the Monday at 8 when I was looking for food in Blind River. For those used to larger cities, this Subway offers no "deal of the day" menu, and no "3 for 20 after 6" deal, probably because if you're there after 6 it's because they are the only thing open. Subway, honestly, thanks for being there.

Blind River is a very small town. This place had a nice relaxing atmosphere. Large area for eating so your not crowded or hearing other conversations.
I had Fish and Chips and other person had Steak Sandwich. Both we good and filling.
You could bring anyone here for business, Friends, I saw families, you can sit outside to watch the river. They also have a connecting Bar with a large nice pool table.

This great spot offers meals to go! Mid morning muffin specials daily, with St. Joseph Island Roasted Coffee always fresh! You can buy the coffee by the pound here!
Each day a lunch soup and Sandwich special, and a weekly menu with dinners to go! Ranging from pastas, to meat loaf, cabbage rolls, ribs, chicken, and more! Each served with sides from potatoes, rice, salads and fresh cooked vegetables! Great prices!
An excellent selection of daily salads, plus often macaroni, potato and broccoli salads! Some days a cold plate special, and more!
The cooler is filled with tarts, from lemon, coconut cream, key lime, etc, butter tarts, fluffy dessert creations, cupcakes with real butter cream icing, individual pies, carrot cake, date squares to name a few!
The freezer is filled with take home meals, meat and chicken pie, pirogies, burgers, cabbage rolls, soups and individual icecream cakes! Lots to choose from and all are absolutely delicious. You can custom order cakes, and anything that might be desired!
Fresh breads from Rye, sourdough, rolls, cheese buns and bacon, cheese tea biscuits are available! Locally owned, great owners, staff and clean!
