I trully recommend "Avalon" complexe in Petrich. I spend there 2 days last weekend with company and we definately will come back there soon. The best thing about the complexe is that you can go first in the restaurant and enjoy the traditionnal balkan cuisine, after that get a nice cocktail in the bar just nex door, and later go and party in discotheque which is also situated next door...And all this at a really fair price!!!!

Although it looks like a snackbar rather than a restaurant, the food served is almost gourmet food. The appetisers come in large portions and are really good. However, instead of camembert cheese with pear and walnuts, my camembert was served with apple and hazelnuts. It was still tasty, so I did not complain, but staff should have informed us. Another drawback: the cocktails (we had a mojito and a margherita) contain very little alcohol. Still, the food was one of the best we had in Bulgaria, hence the 4 stars.

Situated somewhat on the outskirts of the city, the restaurant offers a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere of rural Bulgaria. The variety of dishes they offer makes it pretty hard to choose something, therefore I would recommend everything from the grill. The grilled vegetables are amazing, and so are chicken and pork skewers.
Service, however, could be improved (could be a bit faster).
All in all - a very pleasant place to visit, they even have live traditional music in the evenings.

A very good Italian family restaurant, offering a full range of pizzas, pasta, and salads. Food quality is very good, ambiance is casual and pleasant, staff is efficient and friendly, and there is an outdoor patio which adjoins a small play area for children. Staff speaks English, and there are English menus. Prices are very reasonable, even by Bulgarian standards. Highly recommended.

We visited with two friends and their two young daughters for my partners birthday lunch on Sunday. Outdoor table. Lots of fun being had, then clap of thunder, lightening and the deluge. We were swiftly moved inside. 6 starters, 4 mains, 2 children's portions plus 3 Deserts and beer and water was 100levs or 40£ or 60USD. Good food, great atmosphere. Amazing value. Only reason not 5* rating, the food came out of order. Ie some mains arrived before some starters.

Drank here a few times and finally sampled the food. Very good meal, I had the veal steak and it was lovely.
Service was brilliant. I left something there by mistake, went back and the staff had put it aside for me. Very honest and a huge thank you to the guys.

This lovely little place has amazing sandwiches and cream soups. Every day they make 3 different cream soups for lunch. And you can take them for home or eat in front of the venue, there are like 3 tables. The food is fresh and delicious. The sandwiches are also made there on the spot and if you do not see something or wont to change some of the ingredients just ask.

This is a nice restaurant located in the second floor of a round building very close to the American University of Bulgaria. As such, it uses to be full with students.
The environments is lively with people laughing and speaking kind of loudly, but not enough to bother, in my opinion.
The service is reasonable and the food has good quality. They have dishes typical from the Balkans´ region as one of the students in our table was explaining, since many dishes that are known as typical from Bulgaria can be also found with little variations in other countries from the Balkans and vice versa.

We provide top quality, where possible local sourced produce, to an American diner/gourmet burger restaurant experience. We are NOT a typical restaurant for Blagoevgrad, you wont get a 30 page menu, just good wholesome cooked food in an open kitchen where you can discuss with the chef your likes/dislikes and which he/she can then change accordingly.
Went there for a lunch and had one of the best burgers ever. Mark is a really nice guy and loves to talk with his customers. Most of the customers are students of American University because the prices are little high for locals. For the...MoreThankyou for your kind words.
