It doesn't matter how many times we come here it always maintains the standard and that is excellent. A loose group of ex workmates use this restaurant as their catch up point every 4 months or so. Young service staff are polite and friendly, we always start with dumplings and then move on to shared dishes but really i would be happy to stay with dumplings because they are just so plump and full of flavour. The wine list may not be big but it has a good range and they are cheap when compared to other restaurants. Food prices are excellent and service is fast - we will return again and again

When I made a 6:30 booking I was informed we would need to leave by 7:30. It was the start of a very disappointing evening. The food was very westernised. The service was terrible. We were constantly interrupted with requests for decisions or clearing the table. Then to add insult to injury, we were told to leave even though there were two empty tables close by.
I would definitely not recommend this restaurant.

I enjoyed my dish of marinated and grilled calamari which was tender and tasty accompanied by tzatziki and Greek salad. My companion's chicken parmigiana was huge and also tasty. The young waitresses were very attentive and friendly. The only negative was the corkage at $7 per bottle.

A warm restaurant with white table cloth on each table. You could have good conversation as the acoustics is good. A comfortable homely ambience with a good selection of food. Prices are reasonable and service is good.
We had curry and garlic prawns for entree, kangaroo steak with veges and mixed seafood fritters with salad. They were delicious.

A quality restaurant, delightful ambinence with Hema providing unrivalled friendly service which is matched by the high standard food presented for one's enjoyment.Probably the grestest compliment was provided by my partner's daughter, herself a chef & restuaranter who rated it excellent in every aspect.
Returned after a long absence and was pleasantly surprised. Nice hard working staff who manage to keep everyone happy. We enjoyed a selection of entrees and shared the mains which were filling. The chef's sauces were thick and delicately spiced to enhance each dish. A very enjoyable meal had by all.

We ordered a smoked salmon pizza to share for starters. It was just delicious.
My husband ordered the barramundi in the specials and really enjoyed it. I ordered the veal scallopini. It looked ok, but as soon as I got into the veal it was tough and chewy. So much so, that I had to spit my mouthful into my hand. Not nice, the potato and cauliflower mash was absolutely tasteless and lumpy. Sauce was mustard and just ok. Not a success. As this is the second meal here which has been dodgy, I would not like to go again, there are plenty more restaurants to try in the area.

We have not dined at Defazio’s for many years and finally returned a few days ago.
Parking is no problem in the surrounding streets except for a daytime limit of 2 hours. We received a warm smile and welcome. Most tables have enough space to be comfortable but you could encounter a tight experience if they have moved things around to cater for a group. The place is clean and bright and they close the side blinds while the sun goes down to eliminate the afternoon glare. The front section is for pizza preparation and takeaway.
Service was a little slow at times but easily fixed with a wave. The menu did not appear to have changed in the many years since our last visit and did not have anything other than the traditional “Italian Pizza Restaurant” range. Pricing was moderate and the serving size was average. Quality and presentation did not inspire us to return soon.
They do not accept Amex although our bill came in an American Express folder.

Italian restaurant & pizza. Casual dining experience, family friendly & great value for money.
There is nothing particularly wrong regarding Cantina Centrale, the food is nice and that's it. Nothing spectacular that warrants more. Thought we were in trouble when we first arrived on a very hot Melbourne evening. We were placed down by the kitchen a metre from the cooking and not far from a raging pizza oven fire. It was extremely uncomfortable so we asked to be moved, which we were upstairs under some a/c. I really don't understand why you would place people there on such a hot night as it was so uncomfortable.Once we were upstairs things improved. The restaurant is in a lovely little street, and is quite charming. It has quite a limited menu and wine list, although very nice. The foccacia (really a garlic and cheese pizza) was nice as was the Arancini balls. The sauce was very similar, if not the same, that was on my wife;s gnocci. They were nice meals but again, similar to many restaurants. The servings were good, and they were reasonable prices. The wait staff were very accommodating and professional. The menu is mainly pasta based offering one fish of the day, and a meat dish. It was a nice evening, but I've been to much better. To be honest, not sure I'd go back.

I highly recommend this little cafe on the corner . We went for Father's Day and the team delivered . Great service , no long waits and fantastic food and coffee .. French toast was a hit as was the eggs benedict. Book ahead on weekends or drop by for a coffee and a great selection of slices and muffins ...
