Bethel (Mamterilleq in Central Alaskan Yup'ik) is a city located near the west coast of the U.S. state of Alaska, approximately 400 miles (640 km) west of Anchorage, in the Bethel Census Area. Accessible only by air and river, Bethel is the main port on the Kuskokwim River and is an administrative and transportation hub for the 56 villages in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta.

Alba's is readily accessible as it is located near many of the state offices and some of the other businesses in Bethel. Alba's has a bit of a convenience store feel with an almost random assortment of goods to purchase- meaning you could get a watergun, therapeutic pillow, energy drink, and pregnancy test all in one location. I've only had the basic coffee which is decent quality. Unfortunately they do not have soy milk or non-dairy creamer available. They're fairly popular, though, as there always seems to be someone there.

Dmitri's is always very consistent and good. Love their Chicken Lemon Rice Soup, served on Wednesdays only. And their greek salads are delicious as well. I admit, I only really get those 2 items when I go out to lunch. For dinners, we order pizza for delivery.

With a limited offering of restaurants in this small Alaska community, I didn't expect much. But, I followed the recommendations of others who have traveled there and tried this place out. The food was freshly made, very tasty and the service was awesome. Will dine there again on my next visit.

We lived in Bethel for six months and ate at every restaurant at least once, this was the best. One of the few places that didn't make pizza, Eat is is a modest place like everyone else in town. Take out was fast and efficient, huge portions with a fair local price. Loved the egg-foo-young!

The staff are wonderful, and ever since adding alcohol to the menu they have even more appeal. The restaurant is clean. There are plenty of options. The options are mainly American and Italian.

Just got back from a business trip to Bethel. It's like going to the edge of the planet! Everything is either shipped in by barge from Seattle (4x per year) or comes in via air freight from Anchorage, so sticker shock is the first thing you have to get over. There are only 15 miles of road in and around town, connected to nothing of the outside world. Gas is $6.50 per gallon, milk is $7.50 per gallon and on it goes. There's only one chain food establishment in town (Subway).
My associate and I are here for breakfast and received a decent set of omlettes, toast and hash browns. There is no espresso we could find in town, so settled for Folger's....
We came back for lunch, intrigues by the Asian menu, and we're not disappointed. I had the General Tso's chicken with fried rice and he had a Bulgogi/Tempura platter. Both were well prepared, very tasty and filled us up. We laid down $50 for lunch, which considering the cost of food at the only store in town was reasonable. If and when I do come back, I would go again.
Bethel seems to have a fixation with Asain restaurants. In a town of about 6,000 people, the majority of eating establishments we drove by were Asain... Go figure....

I am truly in love with this place and it is mainly because of the staff. She is always so friendly! She quickly learned my name whenI would call and would usually make me special menu food because of my diet. Szechuan tofu is amazing!!! :) I am in love with her so much because of her heart and dedication to people. The food is good and the menu prices are good for lunch. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for food in Bethel! :)

One thing many people who have lived in Bethel understand is the variety or lack thereof with food and quality. I am not going to say that this place is the best in Bethel but being that I lived in Kasyuli this was the closest and they do deliver. Also it was a quick place to go too when time was late and I didn't feel like going into town. They offered a veggie burger here that was ok, if the ingredients weren't available for the menu item he would always sub something out for something else which was always a fun thing when we would decide. The times I have gone hasn't been too busy but someone is usually eating here while waiting for their plane which is a good sign in my opinion. They have a view that overlooks the tarmac so that is an added bonus with plenty of seating and a quiet atmosphere for eating.

We have eaten here a couple times while living in Bethel. They have buffet and menu options but the service and atmosphere is pretty good for Bethel. Though I haven't used it myself they have a drive through for coffee and things in the morning. Overall a good place to eat here in Bethel, Alaska. We are vegetarian and don't have too many options but when you ask you can get a bean burger. Those who eat more food have a lot of options though!
