A convenient coffee shop located on the corner of Richard and Pitt Streets in downtown Bedford. There is a parking lot across the street. Hebrews has a nice variety of Latte and Expresso coffees and 3 selections of international coffees that changes daily. There is also a selection of teas for the non-coffee drinkers. There were pastries and bagels to go with your beverage. The blueberry muffins, that I can attest to, were delicious. The pastries are homemade by local artisan. Besides the Christmas decorations that were hung in both sitting areas, there were burlap bags, that at one time contained coffee beans, that are now tacked to the walls. A great place to watch the news, read your newspaper, or catch up on your emails as you sip your Hebrews coffee.

An intimate full service restaurant, serving New American cuisine using only the freshest ingredients. Featuring unique pasta and seafood dishes.
While on a recent business trip to Breezewood, PA (and desperately trying to avoid chain restaurants), I dined with a small group of colleagues. The 10/09 Kitchen was a short drive from our hotel in a cute town called Bedford. We were greeted right away and sat immediately. It was a very nice, cozy location on a quiet Tuesday night. There were other diners, but it wasn't crowded and our server was very attentive. The owners both paid us a visit to our table. We spoke at length with Sarah, in fact. She was very pleasant, welcoming, and even helpful to us out-of-towners with recommendations for other restaurants closer to our destinations. Her husband, the chef, was very grateful for our compliments on the food. You can tell he's passionate about the simplicity of his seasonal menu. Service was top notch.
The menu was simple, and straight forward. I ordered the roasted cauliflower soup, five cheese ravioli with sundried tomato sauce, and ended the night with a chai tea latte. All were delicious! The food was not heavy and it was just the right proportion size. The prices were maybe a little on the higher side, but that's to be expected with this quality of dining. It's worth it.
Because this was a business dinner, we asked for a split check. They were more than accommodating. If I am ever in this area again, I would absolutely return.

AT OUR TRATTORIA...the food is traditional Italian. There is no menu, the service is casual and the price is fixed. Everyone is seated at the same table where five different courses are served. We begin dinner with an appetizer, followed by the first dish (pasta or risotto), second dish accompanied by a side (pork, beef, chicken, lamb, salmon... it depends on what we feel like cooking that night!!!), then we finish the meal with a delightful cheese plate including pairings, dessert and espresso. The dinner is perfectly complimented by a bottle of your favorite wine, which our guests are encouraged to bring. Although we do not provide the wine, we will happily make suggestions about what to bring to accompany that night's meal. We do not charge a corking fee. Every night is a unique and wonderful trip for the senses, showcasing the different flavors and traditions of Italy. The cost is $55.00 per person with service included. Our menu changes for each dinner, so please let us know when making your reservations if you have any questions or if you have any dietary restrictions that we should be aware of. Due to limited seating, reservations are required and we recommend making your arrangements several weeks in advance. In addition to our weekly Trattoria, LIFeSTYLE is available for your private events and parties any night of the week except Saturdays, which we reserve for our weekly dinner. For parties of ten or more, the price is $55 per person and we can accommodate up to twenty-two people per event. We generally serve a five course, fixed menu dinner as described above, but we are always willing to customize the meal to best suit your special event.
We were visiting relatives on the east coast, and spent a couple of days around Bedford & Somerset Counties. Found a treasure in LIFeSTYLE. A shop specializing in Italian foods including meats, cheeses, pastas and oils, they serve trattoria style meals on Friday and Saturday...MoreThank you so much for your review and I hope to see you back soon!

I'm a foodie and always plan my trips around the best spots to eat; rarely does TA steer me wrong. However, I will say the Crystal Room was a huge disappointment! My husband and I both had the buffet and it was extremely lackluster.
It was essentially an overpriced continental breakfast. =( There was cereal with milk, yogurt with fresh fruit and homemade granola (one of the only decent things, but still not justifying the price), the option to have an omelette made (good, but nothing special), and they wanted $5 additional if I wanted them to make a slice of french toast since they served pancakes that day! The cook was literally just sitting there with no customers and I was appalled that they wouldn't cook a quick piece of french toast for me without the upcharge (it was already almost $25/pp).
The pictures are also deceiving, there were no desserts or tea cakes, etc. on this buffet. Just eggs, meat, oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, and some breads w/jams.
I actually left HUNGRY (mind you, this is a buffet) because nothing there wowed me enough to go back for a second helping to fill me up. I think they could justify charging half of what they do ($12-13/pp), but even then would not have returned.
Furthermore, I didn't tip the valet at the door since they literally pulled it into a space a few feet ahead of the door, and my husband heard them making fun of the things in our car (I was moving across country for college and it was fairly packed). On the way out they just handed us the keys and asked if we wanted to just get it ourselves....
So, moral of the story, save your money if you are looking for a special experience or a good meal. Neither can be found here.

Bedford, Pennsylvania is not on the beaten path but if you are passing through PA, or more likely staying at the Omni Resort, this is a great spot for dinner. The scallop appetizer was cooked perfectly and had a great sweet potato / pistachio compliment. For entrees the filet mignon and NY strip were both terrific as well. I’d recommend passing on the sauces they have with them as they take away from the flavor. The entrees come with an artichoke heart as well and the other sides are a la carte. We didn’t have room for dessert but there was a lot of good options and after dinner drinks. Great service and ambiance made the meal that much better!

We are professional farmers planting, growing, harvesting/raising real, fresh food from our organic farm three miles away from our freshtaurant. We work with many small farmers in Bedford County & Surrounding counties to bring the best each season has to offer. Our main purpose is to share the tasty foods of our region and to recognize our hard working farmers who produce on this precious land.
We visited on a Thursday and the special ($12.00) each was all you can eat pizza. The flavors and toppings were wonderful. The dough was a tad chewy/tough. I am sure that it is difficult to keep fresh on a steam table. We will be...MoreElaine, I am glad you enjoyed the all you can eat pizza buffet! It was a pleasure to have you and we look forward to serving you in the near future!

Historic landmark located in a 250+ year-old stone building. Slow roasted Prime Rib, house-made Crab Cakes, fresh baked breads, desserts made from scratch and fresh local ingredients make us a popular dining destination. 18 beers on tap, featuring Pennsylvania craft brewed beers.
Wonderful, authentic , stone tavern dating back to the 1700's. Fire roaring in the fireplace. Snickerdoodle cheesecake on the menu!. The sweet and tangy wings are a bit hot. Avoid the habenaro sauce. It does not taste right- it is a bit too thick. The place is well staffed with friendly folks, like our server Eden.
They have 16 beers on tap, including Victory beers and Old Chubb! You gotta like that!

Set within the circa 1806 Stone Inn building, this casual lunch spot hosts a lively bar scene in the evenings where guests can unwind and enjoy spirited conversation over Pennsylvania’s local artisanal brews. With its flavorful menu and enticing beverages, Frontier Tavern is a favorite among locals as well as resort guests.

Lunch Menu : https://www.omnihotels.com/-/media/images/hotels/pitbsr/restaurants/menus/pitbsr-tavern-lunch-menu.pdf?la=en

Dinner Menu : https://www.omnihotels.com/-/media/images/hotels/pitbsr/restaurants/menus/pitbsr-tavern-dinner-menu.pdf?la=en
We happened upon this magnificent hotel one Tuesday afternoon in March. The hotel wasn’t busy but we wanted to stop and eat somewhere nice. The staff was very nice and accommodating. We sat in leather wing back chairs. Very charming. We ordered the 6 oz filet mignon with sautéed mushrooms and fries. We also got a cheese board. Everything was very tender and tasty. The one and only downfall was that we asked for a medium rare filet and they came out medium well. For the price it should have been cooked perfectly. Everything else was wonderful.

The setting was nice - informal, country artifacts on the walls, painted antique oak chairs, pressed tin ceiling. Lots of different homemade cookies that looked yummy, set out on the counters in large glass containers. But lunch is just soup and sandwiches. Nothing wrong with that if both are delicious, but for a place that touts it is “farm-to-table” I expect more than store-bought white bread (what restaurant charges $1 extra for multigrain?! Good grief!) Our meal was... OK, but nothing special. They also don’t have a website, so no way to check on the menu or hours without calling.

This is a must stop for anyone who enjoys a good old fashion breakfast. I had the cream chipped beef on toast, 2 eggs, Home fries and coffee! The food was excellent, good service at a very reasonable price. If you like to eat where the locals do, this is you place!
