My sirloin was excellent. The sauce was delightful. Husband's rib eye was marginal but rib eye can be hit or miss on the cut. The rice/shrimp/lobster cake appetizer was really special. We're inspired to try rice in our crab cakes at home. The blackberry cobbler less impressive, a bit more dough than berry . Wine selection heavy on California wines and needs more international influence. The prices are really good compared to larger city markets but this is a high end restaurant in a more rural area so its expensive in situ.

This is very typical in Bay City. If you have right friends at the right place, you can maintain a monopoly. A 'city' with 20k inhabitants have this only option. I love my coffee and every time I have been here, I have been disappointed. You are better off walking to McDonalds and get a better coffee.

I every once in a while get a craving for donuts. I love Boston Cream donuts but they don't have that here. But they do have a Bavarian Filled donut. It just doesn't have chocolate! It is super delicious! If you want some great donuts come here you won't be disappointed!

My husband and I are major carnivores! We cannot resist a steak house. Sometimes we are badly disappointed but this is not one of those times. This restaurant has the most wonderful steaks we have had in years. My ribeye was perfect and just melted in your mouth. They have a salad bar that comes with your meal along with 2 sides. Our server, Marciella, was very friendly and helpful. She was attentive even though the restaurant was full with people waiting to be seated. This was a wonderful experience.

One evening almost before closing, my wife and I decided that we couldn't retire for the evening without a big cone of ice cream. The DQ light was shining brightly and we whipped through the drive-in window and enjoyed a quickly, friendly served dessert that just fit the bill.

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant. Service is great. Love the soup they serve with many meals. Their prices are decent and the atmosphere is authentic and pleasant. We haven't ever had a bad meal there.

The service here was ssssslow! The food was hot and I'll give them that, but it's pretty bad when you're in the drive through and they tell you to park it and only to have to come in 7 to 10 minutes later and ask where the food is. And that wasn't even me. I sat outside and watched the drive through cars while my wife was inside asking where the food was.

This restaurant is owned and run by an Italian family. Everything on the menu is Italian. The service is very good, and the food is delicious. We were a group of 8, and that didn't bother them at all. We had appetizers(bruschetta and bread with olive oil and marinara sauce) and then our entrees: spinach ravioli, chicken cacciatore, chicken piccata, lobster ravioli, eggplant Parmesan, and each dish was excellent...and filling. We had no room for dessert.

Hadn't been here in years, but when my husband and I were in town, we had to stop by. We shared a deluxe plate with brisket, ribs and chopped beef. The green beans, potatoes and pinto beans were delicious as well. The BBQ sauce was a great complement to the meat. This family owned restaurant is a gem! Don't pass it up!

When returning home from a quick trip to Matagorda, my husband and I were planning to eat lunch in Bay City. We missed a turn and came upon 9ers Grill. Very neat building, clean and spacious parking and lots of outside dining tables. Once entering, we were overwhelmed with a huge menu above the counter where you place your order. They have a "lunch special" menu as well as a "special of the day", in addition to the regular menu.
There are large booths, small booths, and tables. They offer a variety of desserts, but after the large entree portions, we did not order dessert, but they looked fresh and delicious. I ordered the chicken fried chicken plate. It came with a salad (mostly head lettuce) and 2 sides. I chose green beans and tator tots. My husband had a chicken fried steak plate with salad, French fries, and cole slaw. Both steak and chicken were fried with a crisp, light breading. The tator tots were super fresh and crisp! I saw other orders and most everything looked delicious. I was hoping for grilled veggies such as squash etc. since it is summer...but the "sides" are somewhat limited. I love sweet tea, but not too sweet, and it was great. I did add a little unsweetened. If passing thru Bay City, it's definitely worth looking into, especially if you are super hungry! You won't be disappointed. The menu includes various loaded baked potatoes, various sandwiches, and drinks including milkshakes. I would definitely stop again!
