Prashad is an award winning Indian vegetarian restaurant in the heart of West Yorkshire. It is based in a renovated pub building in Drighlington, which has been transformed into an intimate and vibrant Gujarati eaterie. It features a large bar area where the in-house mixologist serves up perfectly-matched cocktails, locally-brewed beers and wines with roadside snacks and Indian tapas. There are three different dining areas and a snug that can be individually booked for private parties. The open pass kitchen brings the passionate Head Chef and her team closer to the customers. In the last 12 months alone we have been awarded the Morrisons Magazine Great Grub Award 2013, the Yorkshire Life Chef of the Year 2013 (which Minal and Kaushy won jointly), the Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand 2014, and the Yorkshire Evening Post Oliver Awards Best Indian Restaurant 2014!
I could eat food like this everyday, wonderful variety of dishes and flavours all perfectly executed. We had poppadoms, the starter platter, puri, thali and masala dosa and jug of mango lassi. Way too much for three but we took what was leftover with us. Nice relaxed service and a lovely space.

We've a top notch selection of ale from local and countrywide Breweries, kept to Cask Marque quality standards. Beautiful outer architecture, enhanced by cascading ivy on the front of the building. Inside a three room set up with quirky signs and pictures adorning the walls, giving a weary traveller a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. The West Riding Refreshment Rooms is part of the Transpennine Real Ale Trail.
I visited here with family as part of the real ale trail. Great selection of beers and good atmosphere. The Pork Pies and Pasties were also very good.

Modern bar restaurant with heated outdoor Terrace and first floor cocktail bar.
Since our last visit, some alterations have been carried out to the bar area which have improved the overall ambience of the cafe.
We enjoyed a decent bacon Sandwich and toasted teacake with tea. It's a little alarming to note that a jug of hot water is £1 when this normally comes free with a drinks order at other establishments.
Nice little cafe with a good choice of dishes available. Not sure what the evening menu is like these days, though.

We Are Now Celebrating 30 Years Of Business As From Today 1 April .thank You To Everyone Who As Made This Possible
Food is always excellent, never had a bad dish. It’s traditional trattoria/ristorante/pizzeria fare, but their 30 years in business is testament to the simple thing done well.
I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it for a quiet romantic night out for two, the atmosphere is a little too “vibrant” for that, but not unpleasantly so.
So much nicer place to go to than a chain restaurant and for the same sort of money.
N.B. You can’t book a table for small groups and it’s usually busy on Fridays amd Saturdays. Then again, isn’t that a good sign?

We visited this venue yesterday 2/01/2018 for my son's 15th birthday family meal.
I had pre booked via telephone.
The welcome, the service, the food and the value for money were all excellent.
The chicken, the pasta and the calzone pizza were all amazing dishes.
We were given plenty of time to enjoy our starters and mains, and chorus of happy birthday accompanied by the pianist was a treat.

I had not been here for a few years, but went mid-week with my son. We had not booked but they fitted us in. We were in a hurry so only had main course. I had halibut from the menu with it being mid-week and maybe not the most popular dish in an Italian, my expectations of it being fresh were fairly low. It was however very white and firm as well as delicious. In fact we 'nipped' in the week after and I had the lamb kebabs again it was superb. The service is very good and the fresh food good value. This will now be my very local last minute choice.

We have been loyal customers at the Bangla Lounge for many years but recently we had an experience from hell! I sent the following complaint to the Bangla Lounge listing the problems experienced on the evening and this has just been ignored.
Hello
First of all, I need to make you aware we have been to the Bangla Lounge, Birstall on many occasions and have recommended you to many people.
Secondly, this booking was a celebration which your restaurant totally ruined!
I need to make you aware of the following things that happened to us last Friday evening.
- I made a booking to arrive at 19:15 hours, we arrived at 19:10 hours.
- We were shown to our table and we placed our orders.
- There were empty tables during these problems experienced.
We ordered our food and the following events occurred:
1. Black hair in the salad of starter plate.
2. Mixed started was over cooked, dry and badly spiced.
3. Mixed kebab starter was overlooked/burnt.
4. My main dish was missing from our order.
5. Garlic naan was missing from our main order.
6. When questioned where our missing food was, the server disappeared and never came back.
7. Arrived at 19:10 and by 21:00 hours we had only had our starters.
8. I went to the main desk and complained at 21:15 hrs as we had just received our mains and we had missing items.
9. Server apologised and said it was on its way, we would would not be charged for the missing dish.
10. A minimum of 5 large takeaway orders had been sent out during our wait.
11. The people at the next table arrived a long time after us, got served immediately and had their main course delivered at exactly the same time as us!
12. When staff were made aware of our issues we were told they were short staffed, 2 people had not turned in and it was a different cook.
- People were still being seated and takeaway orders accepted at this time.
13. When we complained, some of the staff told us they had problems, felt ill, had come in on their day off, not what you say to someone paying for their evening meal, regardless of the supposedly celebratory evening!
All in all, the evening was a Shambles - the food was disgraceful and your staff were obviously overworked, the cook did not seem to have any idea what they were doing!
We paid for the privilege of this in full except for my main dish which was dreadful once it arrived and was not eaten.
All in all, we also advised had it been our first visit, we would never have considered returning, as it is at the moment I feel it will be a long time before we return, if we ever do.
Your restaurant absolutely ruined our evening of celebration and we are disgusted by the food which was presented to us.
I have put put this in writing to make it an official complaint.
Disgusted customer.
