"The leafy Hadley Green, just outside High Barnet, is home to Savoro; a contemporary neighbourhood restaurant where good design meets excellent food. The simple, clean design of the dining room with its warm earth tones and impeccably dressed tables is a reflection of the Modern British menu. Head Chef Robert Brown has designed a menu based around the very best seasonal ingredients treated with the utmost respect and a simple approach which combines international ideas and techniques. So you might find yourself tempted by Barbary duck Breast with a sweet potato mash and bok choi or indulge in some of the finest fish around fresh from the grill. If you have enjoyed yourself so much that you don't want to leave, just book one of the nine luxurious rooms upstairs. "
HIdden from the High St - but make the effort to find it. Bentley garage next door is landmark. Super service, maybe a bit slow, but well worth waiting for. Faultless cooking, wonderful flavours, eight of us so we sampled everything and nothing disappointed. Special mention of waiter - totally on the ball - and chef, could be employed anywhere. Third visit, and will definitely go again. Great drinks, cocktails and coffee by the way.

Located on the High street of Barnet, its a cosy restaurant with delightful decor and a lovely atmosphere.
The staff are friendly, helpful and very attentive to your needs.
We were pleased with our choice of food - halloumi, baked camembert, bruschetta and garlic mushrooms to start followed by beef fajitas, and a rack of lamb. The food was delicious and was fresh and tasty. Decided against dessert ( need to preserve the waist).
I would definitely return and recommend strongly.

Classic French bistro ambience with some of the finest French food. This family run restaurant has been running for over 30 years and has a team of excellent french waiters and chefs. Let Eric & Claudine offer you an immersive french experience that will give you that feeling of.. Je ne sais quoi. A Bientot
We visited this little French restaurant on Saturday night after recommendation from a work colleague. It’s an authentic little French bistro and we loved it. Lovely friendly service by the owners and tasty and well prepared food. They forgot our water but we didn’t care as I loved the intimate and welcoming feel. Magnificent mussels and lovely lamb. A bit too well done for me but my fault for asking for it medium. Nice potatoes and veg accompaniment. I only wish I had room for the baked Alaska which looked divine but I was too full to try. We will definitely return.

Tucked away inside the West Lodge Park Hotel, the Mary Beale Restaurant and Bar provides an elegant but unpretentious setting for any occasion. Enviably located close to Trent Park and Hadley Wood, the dining room is a traditionally stylish space with huge windows letting in plenty of natural light. Executive Chef Wayne Turner and his team use locally sourced produce to create seasonal British dishes and a selection of snacks and light options which are served in the bar. We recommend the organic salmon with dill risotto and the Sacombe Hill Farm beef fillet with mushroom gratin. Why not treat the family to the Mary Beale Restaurant's legendary Sunday lunch, or sample a glass or two from their excellent wine list?
Having not been for many years we again visited with guests having pre-booked.The booking on line was very straightforward and we were expected. Arriving slightly early we were able to go straight to the table and from then onwards the staff, although steadily getting busier, were attentive and the service good. We chose food from both the table d'hote and a la carte menus -there was a good choice of dishes - and all the courses were excellent, tasty and well cooked - the beef fillets especially. With a pianist playing quietly in the background the atmosphere was pleasant and though eventually full the background noise was at acceptable levels. Overall a very pleasant experience and we will certainly return in the future.

Fine or casual dining
8 members of the Foodie Group chose the Haven Bistro for lunch today. Beautiful big room with jardinieres full of flowers. The tables are round - so much better than square or rectangles - so we were all able to chat and enjoy each other's conversation - almost as much (but not quite!) as the food.
We chose the prix fixe lunch, which is changed on a daily basis. Most of us chose either the smoked salmon terrine or the Halloumi salad. Both were delicious. We then progressed to Sea bream; Confit of duck with pommes dauphinoise; Vegetarian Wellington etc. etc. All was excellent, except for the dauphinoise, which needed more time in the oven. Not a problem for the lovely staff, who whipped it away and replaced it with a very yummy potato cake instead.
I was too replete to have a dessert, but my gallant friends managed apple pie with ice-cream and a selection of sorbets and icecream. Everyone thought their choice was the best and I was asked if we could make it a regular haunt for the Group.
Think that speaks for itself !

I love the food here. They use a card system where you turn it green if you want food to keep coming, or red to take a break. The problem is that staff seem to ignore red as they try to empty their skewers!
Chicken teriyaki is delicious, amazing salad bar too

Found this gem in North Finchley / Whetstone opposite the old Ever-ready building tucked in to a small parade of shops.
We booked and glad we did the restaurant is not very big , I would guess about fifteen tables , and was full all evening.
There is a small bar and a lovely if noisy atmosphere.
Now to the important bit the menu was really good and quite extensive to cover all food requirements.
There was a good portion of olives on the table which was quickly supplemented with a generous basket of fresh bread and butter.
The service was great not rushed but timely.
When the meals arrived they were piping hot nicely presented but most importantly beautifully cooked and full of flavour .
We had the starter to share..... a good idea as the portions are large.
The liver and onion grill was fabulous. The whole bass was incredible and the steak tasty.
Overall the cost was very reasonable we paid £90 for three and that includes a bottle of wine and Irish Coffees.
We were all very full and regretting not having room for Deserts which looked amazing
This is a MUST if you love Italian food in a real family restaurant.

Probably the best food I have ever eaten for lunch in such a small cafe. Friendly and good service mostly, nice choice of foods on menu plus blackboard specials and all freshly cooked. Wonderful salads, even the side salad is great. Shakshuka (baked eggs, feta cheese, tomatoes and peppers) tastes very authentic and the portion is huge. Really nice hot sandwiches with choice of breads and the chips are very good too.

Not exactly a regular but been here enought times to know what’s on offer which is usually a good all-round experience. On arrival for an early lunch, greeted by half the bar area covered in dust sheets. Assumed they’d had work done this morning and were just finishing off before we all packed in for what turned out to be a busy Friday lunctime.
But no.
We all sat and ate while workmen drilled and hammered, taking out a fireplace and putting in a woodburning stove apparently. Appalling noise! Unbelievable! No sign up to apologise for the inconvenience, and we were all expected to carry on enjoying the experience as it nothing was happening.
It did stop for a while... when the two workmen went off for their lunch break. You couldn’t make it up!

Sofalino is a family run restaurant specialising in homemade pasta and pizza. We also have a selection of meat and fish. We cater for vegetarians and vegans. We also stock wheat free pasta. We offer an express lunch menu from monday to saturday which include pasta's and salads of the day.
We visited Sofalino for a family dinner. We were met by their charming owners, Adriano and Amanda who both made us feel so welcome. The atmosphere, food and general ambiance was exceptional and we are definitely planning to return on a regular basis. A must for all the foodies out there. Grazie Mille!
