Was worried when the car turned off the congested dusty road into the non descript driveway. Then the front doors to the lobby opened and wow... A beautiful authentic vibrant hotel was exactly what we saw. The hotel is everything you would want in Katmandu. The people, food and atmosphere were excellent. Nice pool, spa and restaurants. Rooms are great and decorated to go with the hotel. The Nepalese restaurant was excellent. The birds are loud but not at all a negative. Wonderful hotel i would recommend to all.

First Spanish Restaurant in Kathmandu, Nepal with the experience of a fine dine along with variety of tapas and mediterranean cuisine.
I have eaten at El Mediterraneo several times now and the food is affordable, delicious, and fairly priced. I’ve met the owner twice and have even had complimentary dessert given. This is a nice restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and ambiance and it despite the food being eccentric, it won’t break your budget.

NAMASTE- welcome to the place of excellence! "Food for the body is not enough. There must be food for the soul." -Dorothy Day Rosemary Kitchen does not have a long history back, but the humble appreciation of satisfied clients so far makes it a Legend! It has been two year that Rosemary Kitchen was open to serve the public. Since then, it has been serving the food for soul and accumulated great client base of internal and external tourists who come to visit the Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal.
Wow that bruchetta was to die for. Really flavorful. I will remember that for a long time. The staff were very welcoming. It's a neat place in the heart of asan shopping district. Great garden, private atmosphere for lunch and dinner. Will be back here next year.

The food here is so delicious! The tofu was unlike any tofu we've had before in the way it was prepared.
The wasabi actually has a hit!
My mouth waters when I think about the okonomiyaki.
Their Japanese green tea was very tasty.
We were in Japan in march and we were not disappointed with the food here.
Staff are very friendly and the food came out quickly.
Recommend to all.
Only area for improvement is the edamame, which was overlooked.

Perfect example of what happens when places like this get hyped on tripadvisor. Everybody goes there and make themselves believe its fantastic. It's nothing special though. It's not bad either, and yes, it's quite cheap. But food here is really not that special. Mediocre at best, more or less what you'd eat in cheap Indian eateries in Europe. There's way better Indian food around, for those that look a tiny bit further than Thamel. Gupta Bhojanalaya on Chetrapati, for example.

Spanish Home Style Restaurant Inside the Awasome Boudha Stupa. In La Casita you can enjoy one of The best views of Boudha and all The Monasteries at the Mountains . Its like a small Oasis where enjoy a Coffee or any of our Great juices, mocktails or cocktails at the rooftop . In La Casita you can experiment The real Spanish taste of food and Tapas. Best selection of Spanish menu feeling at home. SATURDAY CLOSED FOR STAFF HOLIDAYS.
This is one of the best restaurants in the Kathmandu Valley. The entrance is in a little alley right off the stupa. That same alley is the perfect way to enter the stupa from the street. The menu is varied and the food is always tasty. The view from the windows is fine, but the best view is from the rooftop tables. My photo of the stupa with 'Losar' lights was taken from this restaurant. This is a small operation that gets plenty of personalized, loving care from the Western owners. A great place to meet friends and hang out for the evening. Popular with expats and old Asia Hands.

Two different cakes, one really miserable, other one a bit better but nothing great either.
Grilled cheese Sandwich also cant recommend. All tasted a bit artificial, cheap, no good spices etc.
Pity because it did look like a nice little cafe with great location.
I dont know how is the coffee here (cant have any caffeine) but foodwise its something you can skip. Dont get seduced by the menu or cakes in the glass showcase..

Thamel caters to tourists, so many of its restaurants feature international fare. The problem with that is getting the proper ingredients when they really aren't accessible in Nepal. Thus, your best restaurants in Nepal tend to be the ones that specialize in Indian and Nepali...MoreThanks for your encouraging review. You are right about the difficulty in getting some ingredients ... and they can be very expensive as well. We try to reach a good balance. Hope to see you again.
