A Hotel and pub built in 1913 and recently reopened by the Hunter Family, who run the kitchen, bistro, bar and offer upstairs accommodation. re-opened Dec 3rd 2015!
We ordered the rump ($22) and lasagna ($14). Easily the best steak I have had in a long time. The lasagna was huge & yummy! Value and service that you definitely do not get in the city.
Will stop here for dinner next time we do the drive.

From Premium char-grilled steaks to the selection of pub favourites you know you will love what the Coutts Commercial Tavern has to offer. From pool tables to the Kids menu the whole family can get down to the Coutts and have a blast!
I had the ribs and wings, the wife had the stroganoff. The ribs were nice, tender, falling off the bone and the bbq sauce was pretty good. Good size serve, and to be honest, the wings could have been left off the plate and it still would have been a generous serve.
The wings weren't great. Not true buffalo, but not inedible either.
The partners stroganoff was heavy and a little bland. Again, far from the worst, a long way from the best.
Beer selection for a pub was varied if you like all the regular megaswill beers. Tried a coopers pale and I'd say the keg has been there for a fair while. Had two mouthfuls and bought a bottle of wine.
Not great value, not bad service, not terrible food, but not fantastic either. Something to fill the stomach, but if ever back in Ayr, will try elsewhere.

We had morning tea here, coffee and a snack, nice place, good staff and good price. Would come back again.

Recently visited Peppers on Queens with a friend. The restaurant was well set out, with appropriate lighting and music. $30 Buffet included the most AMAZING Sushi (And I am not a sushi lover) plus fish, sweet n sour chicken, dumplings. Service was so friendly! DEFINITELY recommend visiting!

Chill Parlour is a family owned cafe in the heart of Ayr. With a new menu for April 2016, new branding and refurb inside we are bringing the trends from Sydney and Melbourne to little old Ayr! Food is prepared on-site by our Chef and cooks with a food menu as well as a display case full of quick options. We support local, so why don't you give us a try!
A nice little place for a break and something to eat during a trip up north. Good alternative to Macca’s or a dodgy servo. Good range with healthier options available. Chill out vibe, a lots of on street and centre park in the area. Thanks for taking the time to write a review! :) See you on the trip south...

Had breakfast here on our way through. Mushrooms on toast, out of a can, was a bit bland, the eggs benny sauce was not homemade either, so made a disappointing experience. The cafe itself seemed to be popular with the locals.....noticed a lot of vegemite on toast being consumed. The menu had a great range, and we would go back for another meal if we had the need. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming.

Friendly Staff. Clean. The food in the hot box looked delicious if you wanted something hearty. We only wanted morning tea on our travels. The coffee was good. And the pumpkin scones were the best I have ever tasted. Home made and light and fluffy.

Enjoyed a lovely meal here and the surroundings were good, it was enjoyable to read and see the display in the club about past soldiers and there achievements, the place was clean and the service was quick, we didn't have to wait very long for meal even through they were busy and the food was tasty but thought a bit overcooked but the variety of the menu is good and the prices were reasonable
