Max A Mia is the quintessential Italian experience in the Greater Hartford area. Featuring a traditional Italian menu, Max A Mia also utilizes an authentic brick oven that produces stone pies with unmatched flavor.
This was our "go-to" restaurant from the moment we came to Connecticut. Sadly over the course of a year, the best way to describe the restaurant is tired. The decor is tired, the menu hasn't changed, other than a few specials in 3 years. Manager extremely apologetic x 2 for meals and service falling down. There's some more competition at this price point that far exceeds both menu and service.

On one side of the street there's the long-established homey Coffee Trade, where you can chat with the owners and their crazy-fun helpers, have a business meeting or ladies' tea in the quiet back room, enjoy tremendous coffee, pick up a gift (and usually you can also support a cause if you so choose)... and on the other side of the street there's Dom's. Completely different vibe - not a bad vibe, just seemed more impersonal. There are little nooks where kids seemed to be sipping and studying - that looked sort of perfect for that sort of activity. Or a secret rendezvous! If you're looking for privacy and a more modern feel, then Dom's could be the place to go!

We could have easily missed this wonderful shop and kept going down 44 but this was an amazing treat. The cupcakes were fantastic but I think the real magic is how absolutely delicious it smells just walking through the door. Get off main st and stop in to spoil yourself here. You won't regret it.

We received great service. The pizza was big! (we ordered a medium and it looked like a large!) Being pizza aficionados, we didn't have a problem with that! Our only complaint would be that Little City totally lacks atmosphere...but understandably they keep many local families very happy!

Too many people, tables too close together, tables too large, result was: too loud. Getting up to get food meant bumping into several people. Forget it if you are in a wheelchair. Very minimal service - cleaned dishes away, served drinks, never even served coffee/tea. Did access an automatic 18% tip. So with one alcoholic drink at $10, the final bill was $80 per person. Children 5 and under were free! But double check your check, because they charge if you don't tell them. Carving station person was fast, and smiling. Stuffing tasty. Nice shrimp & crab legs. Nice selections of desserts. Would go back to try them again, but definitely not at their buffet!

This is my favorite coffee shop in the Hartford area and I have been to a lot in my lifetime here. The atmosphere and gift shop are charming, the staff couldn't be kinder or more pleasant and I do love their coffee. Try this place!!

The ice cream is very good. I've been going here since 2008, and the service has been very inconsistent. The workers aren't very educated on the ice cream, and can't answer many of the questions I have (I'm both picky and have allergies). I once saw a girl drop ice cream on the floor, clean it up with a paper towel, then continue service without washing her hands. On the other hand, I once saw a girl give an autistic boy ice cream on the house when he didn't have enough money to pay.
Personally, I think that there's a better ice cream shop elsewhere in Simsbury, and I only go to J Foster's when there's a deal or someone else wants to go there.

Food and service are always consistent here. They also offer delivery which is super convenient. Their pad thai and spring rolls are the best!

We pick up pizza from E&D regularly and it's always good. Fairly priced, friendly and efficient service, good quality

I've been going to this restaurant for years. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is comfortable. Abigails is set into a historic Inn called the Pettibone Tavern which has local significance. The restaurant is conveniently located on RT 10 in Simsbury and is worth a try
