If you’re into eating locally and supporting sustainable agriculture, go to Asheville—and eat, eat, eat. This town of less than 100,000 people has 17 farmers’ markets, and the local restaurant scene is all about taking advantage of the seasonal produce sold there. And don’t miss the area’s microbreweries.

We tried five small plates and all were delicious. Our favorite was the cannelloni. I would recommend the El Bandarra Rojo vermouth as an aperitif. It was fabulous. Will definitely be back.

An Asheville favorite since 2003, Sunny Point Café serves award-winning upscale comfort food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Craft cocktails, beers and wines are available to enjoy with meals. Sunny Point Café is a family-owned and operated West Asheville restaurant featuring a covered, outdoor dining area and an on-site production garden providing fresh produce just steps from the kitchen. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Reservations accepted for dinner only.
Loved the fun, vibrant, friendly atmosphere. Only a 15 min wait around 2:30pm on a Friday. Bakery items and fresh coffee were available while we waited in a garden like waiting area. Everything we had was delicious, flavorful and fresh...heuveros rancheros, omelette, bacon (is a must!), carrot hoecake and angel biscuit (tastes like a cross between a biscuit and a roll). Waiter, Jared, was quick, helpful and provided just the right amount of service. Small restaurant with close seating, which adds to the fun atmosphere. If no parking in small lot beside cafe, park at Ingles grocery up the street to avoid getting towed. Fun little garden on backside of restaurant to walk through. We will definitely bring our family and friends back when we visit Asheville again.

Formerly the Award Winning Savoy now Vinnie's. Same owner, same attention to details, quality of food and service.
Sunday night--busy as all get-out! (They don't take reservations. This was our first time there and didn't know that; so you better get there early.) Told there would be a 45 min wait, but was only 20.
Waitress started us off with bread: house made herb focaccia and crispy baguette with olive oil and balsamic dipper. We shared a HUGE truly amazing Greek salad. My veal scalopini was done perfectly, served HOT, over perfectly done pasta, with a side of sautéed spinach. Really good and lots of gravy, just how I like it! Hubby had a penne with sausage and broccolini, which he liked but said the sausage was too salty.
Don't depend on the menu on their website--it didn't look the same and some items on the online one were not on the one we saw at the restaurant (my hubbys dish). And some Italian staples are on the online one, but not at the restaurant one (lasagna, unless I missed it, which is even pictured on the home page of their website.)
We don't get to Asheville that often, but would definitely go here again!

Great place, quaint decor, fabulous food and service. Worth the wait in line. Great coffee. They have a buffet of jams, jellies and spreads you can sample, the sweet potato chili was wonderful on the oversized Homemade biscuits

Roman's is an award winning deli located in the heart of Downtown Asheville, NC. We have been selected as one of the top 12 Deli's in North Carolina & Asheville's Best Burger. Local draft beer & cider accompanies our menu which is created with numerous local ingredients that are brought fresh to our door daily. We offer made from scratch sandwiches, salads & soups and more. Located in the historic Vanderbilt Apartments building between the Pack Square Library & US Cellular Center. Great views of downtown & the historic Basilica St. Lawrence Church.
Convenient to St Lawrences and the Grove Arcade. Clean and simple. Does a pretty good sandwich, soup, or salad. Small friendly space, great for alone, couple, business. Not so great for little kids. But they also do takeout and delivery. Would make a good picnic for the park!

Plant serves innovative, organic plant-based cuisine, local brews, craft cocktails, and biodynamic wines in a modern inviting setting.
Honestly, if each of us had ordered the magnificent [plant] Cheese platter and shared the plantains, we'd have been deeply satisfied. Both were standouts. One of our party had never eaten at a vegan restaurant or had cashew cheese, and she was wowed.
We also enjoyed the Kimchi Brussels Sprouts, Grilled Beets, Lasagna Cruda, and and Tofu Bibimbap (which I brought home for brekkie to save room for dessert).
The Carrot Cake was the best I've ever had. The Blackout Pie was intense and intensely delicious, but we'd have preferred it with peanut butter ice cream instead of the sesame, which was tasty but not with that pie.
We shall return when next in Asheville!

My sisters brought me to the Biltmore for a birthday celebration, and we had a very lovely dinner in the main restaurant. The crackling fire and the warmth of the Christmas holiday decor made it a place that felt very homey and relaxed, but the service and food were of the highest order for fine dining. Everything we had in the three course dinner was excellent, and the service was exceptional . . . unobtrusive but always there if needed. After a really disappointing dining experience in Dallas the prior week at the same price point, it was wonderful to feel that we were actually getting good value in both the food and the dining experience. I would definitely put this on your itinerary for a trip to the estate. Bravo!

We waited in line about 15-20 minutes to order then about 10 minutes for our food. The staff was very nice and handled a busy morning very well. We got menues while waiting in line so that we knew what we wanted before we got to the counter to order. The classic biscuit egg and cheese sandwich was delicious and not greasy. The rest of my group loved their food as well, you really can't go wrong with so many options to put on a delicious biscuit. They have a large variety of jams and specialty butters to put on a plain biscuit. Next time in Asheville, we will be back!

Moe's Original Bar B Que features award-winning Bama-style pulled pork, ribs, Turkey and chicken smoked over hardwood served fresh daily with two unique sauces plus eight to ten traditional Southern sides and tasty desserts. Located in the Biltmore Village area, there are many shops, music venues and attractions nearby with downtown Asheville minutes away. In addition to a beautiful outdoor patio, there are 4 large flat-screen TVs for sports viewing and will be live entertainment on the weekends.
Excellent service, fast and friendly. The restaurant is small but clean and welcoming. We ordered the ribs and pulled pork along with collard greens, baked beans, macaroni and cheese and hush puppies. All of the food was delicious- I only gave it 4 stars because I wish there was more of a variety of BBQ sauces. North Carolina BBQ is heavily vinegar based, and coming from Florida we like our "sweet" sauces- something you won't find here. Food was fresh and cooked perfectly. I would definitely eat here again.

Chestnut is an American restaurant. We are in a 1920s era building in downtown Asheville, right across for the Aloft hotel and the double decker coffee bus. Parking is plentiful (and cheap) at the public deck under the Aloft Hotel.
This was my second time visiting the restaurant over the course of a few years. This time for business and last time for personal. Highly recommend it for the amazing food, great service and beautiful atmosphere. Our server made fantastic recommendations for both food and wine.
