Another of the Big Jake's chain restaurants.
We were traveling and stopped in based on TripAdvisor reviews. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but once you're inside, it's clean, decorated, and full of friendly people. The food was great. It wasn't the best barbecue in the world, but the portions were big and the flavors were spot on. They offer free pinto beans for dining in, and those were good too. We would return.

Drove past this retro looking drive with car hops and haven't been to one for awhile so what the heck. Got a spot and ordered using the speaker, made me feel like a kid again. the prices were good, the service was awesome and the food tasted just like old time drive-in food. thumbs up

Apparently, they gave us someone's leftover chips. We were eating chips while waiting for the manager to return with chicken for our order. They ran out of chicken! Anyway, there was a huge wad of chewed gum in the bottom of our bowl of chips. The owner was very rude and unapologetic.

This place isn't convenient to anything except a few folks living or camping around Lake Millwood. About 10 miles from Ashdown and 30 miles from Texarkana, it's definitely worth the drive. We ordered the fried catfish. It comes with french fries, and a set-up of coleslaw, tomato relish, pinto beans & hushpuppies - all very good. You can order the catfish dinnner with 3 - 7 pieces. We ordered the 3 piece dinner to share, and paid $5 for an extra set-up. It was more than enough for both of us. The catfish filets were thin and crispy, just the way I like them, and very flavorful.

Poblano's is a Mexican Restaurant on North 2nd Street, which is also Highway 32 Business. It's in downtown Ashdown, across the street from the Little River County Courthouse, and 2 blocks northwest of US Highway 71 and 59. It's a block and a half from the Kansas City Southern Railroad tracks. The restaurant was busy for lunch. There were tables and booths. The service was good. The owner and several employees were from Mexico, which added to the authenticity of the place. The food was tasty and affordable. It compares favorably to other Mexican restaurants I have visited. There were a few parking spaces next to the building, just off of the street, but not that many. When I arrived at 11:30 AM there was just one vacant space left. The limited number of spaces around the building was the only problem I found with this location. The menu offered many choices of dishes. It showed that they had another restaurant in Nashville, AR.

We visited my aunt and she brought us here because it has a broad range of foods and a few salads typical of a family cheap eats diner. We enjoyed our selves and everyone found something they liked. The staff is super friendly, they enjoy them selves, and the food is cheap. Will certainly go back. Not a fancy place. But it's fried food. Fancy and fried don't go well together!

Great Fun, Good Food, Good Prices!
The staff is awesome, and the people that hang out there are a lot of fun!
The food is as good as it gets, and the drinks are a nice touch. There is pool, darts, pinball, pacman, golden tee, and all the sports you can watch.
Bison meatloaf and bacon wrapped port tenderloin? I'll eat it all day!
