This wonderful restaurant is located in everyone’s favorite mall — the Outlets at Tejon. If you’re looking for a step above the typical fast food fare, the Black Bear Diner Arvin is exactly where you should be heading after a day of shopping. We have plenty of tasty food that will satisfy everyone’s appetite. Stop in to say hello and we’ll make sure you leave with a full stomach!
Always awesome. Addicted to the chicken fried steak with the best country gravy. Huge portions too! All the cobblers are yummy too and giant size. Try the little lites size of meals if you don't want leftovers to take with you. Some of the little lites are very large portions too.

Four stars for the good and quick service and 5-star attitude of the manager, Martin Rojo. This Tejon location (about 100 yards from the Tejon Outlets on the east side of highway 5 opened in March. We travel between San Diego and Delano 3-5 times per year. The staff is friendly and helpful, as you would hope.
The positive customer-centered attitude of the manager is exceptional and deserves special praise. If all Starbucks managers were as attentive as Martin, Starbucks' profits would shoot through the roof. I mentioned that I was disappointed that Starbucks corporate had discontinued their one red antioxidants (unadulterated rooibos) tea. Green tea is high in antioxidants, but of a different mix of them.
Martin was appreciative of my comments regarding the health benefits of unadulterated Rooibus tea and assured me that he would pass my comments up the corporate chain of command.

This place has a very nice inviting atmosphere with friendly waiters and an enthusiastic manager. They only recently opened in Dec 2014 so everthing seems new and clean. The menu has many interesting items on it...I ordered the egg breakfast with pancakes. The pancakes were tender and delicious...the eggs were cooked exactly as I requested. All the items were $2 or $3 more than other similar restaurants...but the food was worth it!

Very popular, travelers and law enforcement were eating there. The line moved quickly, food prepared fresh, eat there or take out. I wanted the ingredients listed for the American Dbl but not the large size; they reduced my order to single, and adjusted the price accordingly. Clean. Very friendly staff. Located at north end of Grapevine Pass towards LA; take overpass across Hwy 5 towards the Outlet Shopping area. Easy access back on freeway. This is a chain, and I will locate the one near my home town as I think it is so tasty, very fresh.

We have actually detoured the last several trips driving from Washington to Arizona to eat at this restaurant, that's how good it was! Disappointed to learn the ownership had recently changed hands and it had a new name.
Fresh ingredients and decent food. The meal was not bad, tacos were actually quite good, but nothing to get overly excited about and not worth a detour in future trips.

This is real Mexican Food like you would find in a typical Mexican home. This definitely ain't Taco Bell or any other Americanized restaurant. This is the real deal. Nice little pleasant surprise as we were driving through town. Definitely caters to the locals, but a real treat for us. Very cordial help. Pick any item and you'll be happy. They were setting up the lunch buffet as we left and it looked outstanding.

Good Chinese food. That being said, 90% of the take out/eat in places in Arvin look like a box dropped by a crane and all of them need a paint job and new floors. I wouldn't even thing of using the bathroom in any of them. This one was no exception.

The sandwiches tasted the same as all others I’ve had at Subway and the restaurant looks like any other. However they do have a nice outdoor seating with quite many tables. One other thing to raise is that my impression was that they offer a very good service here and it’s better than most of the other Subway’s I’ve visited. Everyone in the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The bacon breakfast burrito is one of the best you'll ever have! They cook the eggs flat and lay them on the tortilla so that nothing falls out while you're eating. The right amount of bacon, hash browns and cheese leaves you with one great burrito! If you're travelling through Arvin in the morning they are great to eat while driving. If you're a local, you already know about them.

My family loves this place. The Canton Special and the Orange Chicken are really good choices. They also have a lunch buffet. There are very few dining options in our town so it makes me very sad that the owners are retiring soon and new owners are taking over. I hope they don't change the menu. The building is very old so it does look dated inside. Keep in mind that the original use for this building was the City Jail.
