The very friendly staff in this place are very used to tourists arriving on the Jacobite train from Fort William with only 90 minutes to spare before the return train leaves, but I would recommend that you book because when busy it's difficult for them to accommodate everyone in the limited time. We booked and received a warm welcome and a window table. The menu is reassuringly short, and really this place is a fish and chip restaurant so we went with the vibe and chose haddock and chips and peas. Glammed it up with a very pleasing bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. Fine dining this is not, but hot, tasty freshly prepared and local it definitely is.

We had booked elsewhere (Chlathlain Inn) but it was closed without warning, so crossed the road to the Steam Inn - warm welcome, blazing fire excellent quick service, and really good hot food on a cold day. Cullen skink followed by Scampi and chips for lunch was enough to keep us going until breakfast the following day! Worth booking - it filled up quickly and quite a few people were sadly turned away.

We stopped recently during a storm, in the daytime. Excellent bowls of leek and potato soup in front of a coal fire warned us up. Good, friendly service, nice decor. Another couple ordered a children's portion of haddock and chips. That was beautifully presented and they declared it was the best they'd ever had. It is a bit pricey though, hence only 4/5

We stopped here on the way back from Mallaig to Edinburgh. We sat outside in the sun with views over the seafront. Filled rolls very good. Coffees good. Service could be better as we were almost finished our drinks before the rolls arrived. Toilets clean. Cafe clean

We had dinner and breakfast here. Excellent meals and great service. Local fresh seafood, produce, and meats prepared in a creative , modern way. We certainly weren't expecting this type of food in such a remote small village. Maggie and staff are to be commended for the quality and presentation of the food. We also stayed st the B&B. Very good.

This B &B is beautifully situated round the corner from Arisaig with stunning views. It is very welcoming and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delicious - they catered very well for people who are gluten intolerant. The "dram before bedtime" was a lovely idea. The dog loved the secure garden too.

Stayed for 2 nights as part of birthday/anniversary celebrations.
Stunning inlet setting, amazing views across the loch.
The rooms are modern, chalet style accommodation and somewhat basic but v clean and comfortable.
The food in the inn was v good, the staff friendly and the beer was great too!
Be aware, there is no internet within the inn other than the 4G tower was sadly broken when we visited, but 200 yds up the lane is the community shop which has free WiFi accessible at the picnic table outside.
Glenuig is a centre of outdoor activities and particularly sea kayaking, and is also within easy striking distance of Mallaig so ferry trips to Skye are readily doable.
Amazing place. Go.

Fresh Local Produce cooked by our team of chefs showcasing the best of local ingredients and produce in a relaxed pub atmosphere.
Lunch on Sunday; one prawn Sandwich and two bacon pieces.
Each Sandwich was bounded by two thick slices of home made bread, baked fresh that morning. The Sandwich contained real prawns aplenty and the " pieces" 4 rashers of smoked bacon.
This was a significantly good lunch!

Just had fish and chips in here. It was that fresh the haddock fell apart from the batter on the plate. Delicious and we will be back for more. All the bread and cakes are homemade and just yummy. Great job

Excellent food, great service, we were there with 11 people, all staying at the hotel and they sat us together. There were other large groups 5-8 and they rearranged as needed to accommodate them all wit crowding anyone. We were there during the Arisaig Highland Games and while busy never seemed understaffed and extremely competent management of service between the main dinning room and an auxiliary dinning space that we took advantage off for a private diner for our family. Absolute must, Shaun and his staff are great-hang not to them
