Jacks Coastguard Restaurant

Jacks Coastguard Restaurant is a landmark building overlooking Rossbeigh and Inch Peninsula in the seaside village of Cromane between Kilorglin & Glenbeigh on the Ring of Kerry route. Nestled against the Atlantic Ocean, enjoy panoramic sea and mountain views in one of Kerrys Top Restaurants recently named Best Seafood Restaurant in Ireland by well respected foodie Georgina Campbell as well as listings with Bridgestone & Michelin Guides. The Station Bar and Coastguard Restaurant successfully combine old world charm with modern elegance.Guests can linger over a drink in the bustling Station Bar or enjoy the soft tones of the piano through the restaurant by our resident pianist JP Murphy. Only the finest and freshest of seafood is used to create dishes that would rival the most discerning of palate. Signature dishes such a Cromane Mussels, Tiger Prawns or perfectly seared Scallops should not be missed. For the unwilling seafood diner, our succulent Fillet of Beef should suffice nicely.

The South Pole Inn is a must for Antarctic fans- the original owner Tom Crean made 3 expeditions to the South Pole- great history on the walls and the toasted sandwiches were plentiful and delicious- fresh hot soup also very good- and a lovely pint of Guinness - a great stop on the way to or from Dingle

We had dinner here after a days walk (the Dingle Way). We didn't have Reservations, bur, although it was really busy (which I consider a good sign) they could accommodate us. The food (Salmon with mash and vegetables; Linguini with king prawns and salad) was excellent and reasonably priced. This is not a pub but a real restaurant with professionals who know how to cook a good meal.

With this place being on the beach and a tourist trap with a huge number of visitors stopping off I was sceptical on what the quality would be like. However it was actually spot on. I had a Cheese and Ham Toastie and some chips. Portions large. I also asked if I could take a pizza away with me which they were happy to accommodate. This was also tasty.
The coffee shop side had a pretty impressive selection of fresh cake too!
Well worth a stop off it at Inch Beach.

Wonderful supper from a huge choice, lots of specials. One waitress served everyone in the restaurant and it was packed. Bless her heart, she then switched over to barmaid in the pub attached. The owner's are very warm and friendly. We stayed in one of the rooms above and went to sleep with the dull noise of music and people talking below. Very soothing. Next morning, the owner is up and making breakfast and serving very quickly. She was making other guests breakfast when we were leaving, but made sure she came out for a 'proper send off' . Loved it here !!!

They were busy the night we went and they probably always are. The food was nothing to write home about and the service was quite slow. Nevertheless if you're hungry and want a meal this pub is convenient to people staying in Camp or Camp junction and reasonable value.

Our modern and comfortably appointed dining room overlooks the peaceful Annascaul village and Mountains in the distance. We can accommodate groups of up to eighteen and our ‘Bill of fare’ includes our well known and justifiably famous Irish stew and our Seafood Pie. To end your meal you can choose from our range or delicious Deserts, esspresso based drinks or savour an Irish coffee.

We arrived a little early after our first walk on the Dingle Way and a note in the window made it clear that entry would not be possible until 3.00 p.m. That's perfectly reasonable given that this B&B/Restaurant is obviously very demanding for the couple who multi-task in it, but still not all you might hope for at the end of a walk where you've already made use of a cafe in the fairly slim supply of stopping places in the village.
The room was pleasant, if slightly spartan, and we had a good evening meal and excellent breakfast to see us on our way.

Our family had dinner at Patcheens Bar based on the recommendation of Noel at the Annascaul B&B. Were were not disappointed. The pub is in an old stone building on the village's Main Street. The great room has several small tables and stools at the bar. The menu includes the usual Irish fare - stews and such - along with options for the kids. Of course, the bar is a full service as well. The locals and staff all greeted us and made us feel welcome.

Tried 2 desserts,....the chocolate cake and the shortbread caramel chicolate bar. Both were outstanding!!! That was tje afternoon snack.
Then we went back later for the healthy and delicious salmon salad..with homemade balsamic and mixed greens from the garden.
And the owner and her staff could not be more friendly and welcoming. A must try!
