The Ronneburg Restaurant is a German-American restaurant located in the Amana Colonies that have been serving family style food for over 60 years.
Yanna and her staff have delivered wonderful service and great good at a reasonable price forever. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu and you will appreciate Old World pride in what they do. No hurrying, staff are personable and you leave 100% satisfied.

The open hearth bakery has been in operation since 1864. Fresh baked goods are available early in the morning until all is sold. Breads, pastries, coffee cakes and cookies are there to choose from. Get there early for the best selection.

This really isn't a restaurant, so if you walk in thinking that you're going to be eating a regular meal, you might find yourself disappointed. This is pretty much dessert haven. Candy, fudge, truffles...that's what you'll find here.
Yes, it's a bit on the expensive side, but when you're in a place like Amana (or Galena or any other small enclave of shops that are more 'specialty' than 'big box'), you're going to dig into your wallet a little deeper than usual.
We bought some fudge, a few pieces of candy, and a couple other delectable to bring home. We ordered tea (the selection was limited - that's why the 4 stars instead of 5) and sat at one of the few small tables for a while, letting the vacation vibe sink in. The girl that waited on us was really nice and friendly. Overall, we left the place with a good feeling - just the kind of store you want to remember long after you get home and the laundry is going.
High recommend as a treat place.

You hungry? Famous for American and German food served "Family Style". Hearty and light portions including chicken, hand cut steaks, roast beef, sauerbraten, wiener schnitzel cutlets, Amana made brats, pork chops, catfish, sandwiches, salads, homemade soups and desserts...Including rhubarb custard with meringue topping, chocolate and coconut cream pies. Pies to Go. Children's and Carryout menus. Local, American and imported wines, beers, and cocktails. Serving daily Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Banquets and on Sundays a Four Entree Brunch Buffet. The Ox Yoke Inn is "An Amana Colonies Tradition Since 1940." It's main dining rooms were built in 1856, and is a National Historic Landmark. Five generations of the Leichsenring family have owned and operated the restaurant.
Here's a place to enjoy some great German cuisine, nice atmosphere and excellent, friendly service (ask for Wendy). The food was delicious, plentiful and served quickly. We enjoyed an appetizer of pickled beets, followed by the Jager Schnitzel (delicious pork chops). They offer a family style if you're really hungry, but we ordered the individual meals, which was plenty. Being our anniversary, they provided a nice complimentary photo. This restaurant is located in Amana IA, the main colony of Amana Colonies and I would highly recommend it as the place to eat if you visit the colonies. I give them an A+ for food, service and friendliness.

It was a cold, cloudy sunday but the smell of popcorn lead us to this site where we tasted several and left with several bags. They have an Extra Cheese that ended up being my favorite, but they also have flavors like Mountain Dew, Dr. Pepper, and Chocolate with Peanut butter which is amazing.

Arrived just after 6pm on Wednesday night looking for a good thin crust pizza. The only complaint was that there was almost too much 'toppings' in the pizza. Still, great taste and excellent service, but they closed at 6:30 so I was kinda rushed out. Beer was cold too.

Both time my friends and I have planned a girls weekend to this area it has always landed on the weekend they have their brat &a beer fest. Both times have been a great night. Amana is a beautiful area and it's wonderful to relax and drink good beer with good live music. Their beer is so good and we look forward to our next girls trip with a stop at Millstream!

We decided to have dinner at the Bau Haus. Our family of three had delicious meals, great beer, and great root bear. Two of us had the brat and signature mac n' cheese and third person in our party had the chicken schnitzel with noodles. All our meals were excellent as well as the service. Prices were reasonable and definitely would return.
