Stunning landscapes and a unique pioneering history create a diverse and exhilarating destination to explore. A thriving, spirited outback center, Alice Springs is as famous for the personality of its locals and traditional art as it is for the natural wonders, including the stunning Larapinta Trail and the MacDonnell Ranges surrounding it.

A favourite dining experience for locals and visitors since 2001. Hanuman Alice Springs is conveniently located inside the Crowne Plaza Hotel, a 5 minute drive from the centre of town. The Asian mood is created through the clever use of decor, artifacts and lighting - a stunning contrast to the surrounding Central Australian desert landscape.
The three of us asked our server for recommendations and we chose the items she recommended - lamb korma, jungle curry of beef and barramundi moolie. Each was excellent and were sufficiently varied to make for good sharing.
The service was good and we had a very satisfying experience.

Only spendings one night in Alice. Short walk from our motel. A large Dinner/Bar. Lots of memorabilia fixed to the walls and roof ! Food wouldn't say was exceptional, but you get a lot of it. Service was quick and the bar staff were friendly. Worth a visit. Kids are welcome as well.

Windmills on the walls, saddles in the rafters, cricket memorabilia by the score and a warm outback welcome. That's what you can expect to see when you walk into The Overlanders Steakhouse, an Alice Springs dining institution in the 'Heart of Hartley'. But if you think a rustic atmosphere means rough cooking and an old-fashioned dining experience, think again. A check of the menu reveals some surprises. There are the signature dishes of course...like the 'The Famous Drovers Blowout', (tastings of Camel, Buffalo, Crocodile, and Kangaroo), which you'd expect from a 'steakhouse'.
In torrential rain ( yes, it does rain in Alice Springs ) we took shelter here, and having looked at the menu we decided to eat. We were not disappointed. Excellent food, friendly service, in pleasant surroundings and at a very reasonable price. Certainly a good choice.

The busier cafe next door was wall to wall, with horribly loud music. Chose the Red Dog instead. I had ham and cheese croissant, one small slice of ham, and all but invisible cheese. He had eggs benedict, the eggs were great, the ham and spinach were plenty, however, the "bread" was soggy and greasy. I was expecting so much more. Sadly disappointed. Never again.

Decided to go here for lunch as we had not been here for a while and it was lovely to see the new decor. Very modern, comfortable and inviting. Drink waiter was fast and efficient. Ordered oysters kilpatrick and this was over-cooked and not very nice. We also ordered the special of the day which I'm afraid I could not eat as it was not very appetising. Our other meal prawns, the salad was old which again spoilt our overall experience.

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the restaurant has established a reputation for quality food and friendly service within a picturesque natural setting. Guests enjoy a distinctive array of cuisine including local bush flavours and a select wine list.
Service was fast and friendly. The menu has a great selection, including some Australian dishes. The Salt n Pepper Squid with mango passionfruit dressing was delicious.

Interesting place. Would come back. Food was great. Service was good enough. They have great little fan devices on the tables to keep the flies away because it is essentially a shed with open doors.

We have been to this bar recommended by local people as they recomment their pasta and also the burgers. We choose Kangouro fillet with french fries and salad and a child menu with crubled fish. Kangouro fillet was really tender and a nice piece of meat, French fries are realy good. As they had a big table to prepare prioir to us we wait a little bit long and my meat and french fries were not enough warm.
I recommend this bar/

If you are a fan of the humble vanilla slice, you must visit this cafe. I only tried one thing on the menu, being "Rosie's Vanilla Slice" and it was amazing. There was no hard pastry, no rubbery custard and no overly sweet icing. Instead, this was a masterpiece where all three layers blended perfectly to create of fluffy slice of heaven. You will not be disappointed.
