Had worse meals - can't quite remember when though. Alarm bells started ringing when the anaemic looking calamari arrived with equally pasty looking chips. I don't want chips! If I wanted chips I'd go to Margate. The Canary potatoes were bland with an awful sauce - totally at odds with the delicacy we had this time last year in Lanzarote.
I had the local fish - turned out there were 3 of them - they were ok but arrived with bloody chips. Not a bit of sale or vegetable in sight. My good lady had veal which came with bisto gravy and ........yes, you guessed it!
Nothing remotely green or healthy anywhere near either plate. Disappointing..? Enormously!
Stormy and wet Sunday night and first place we came to. Hope the weather improves so we can walk a bit further and hopefully find somewhere that matches the high expectations we have from previous experiences in Spain and the Canaries.
Did I mention the service? That's because there wasn't any. Not once did we get asked if things were ok - and it was that rare occasion when I was prepared to say 'no, it bloody isn't!

If you find yourself in Agaete I can recommend this restaurant in the central village square. Initially my wife and I were put off by the entrance, which appeared to lead to a basic unattractive cafe. However go further in to the restaurant which overlooks...MoreGracias?

We thought it looked traditional and a place where locals would eat and therefore we were looking forward to sampling. However, staff were not very welcoming, service was ok. We were charged for the bread even though we had said we didn't want it and sent it back.
Food was ok. I had prawns, my partner had fish.
We did not feel comfortable dining here.
For 2 beers, prawns, fish dish and bottle of water we were charged €37.50 which was fine but, same food in another restaurant in Puerto de Las Nieves was €10 cheaper and alot tastier and more pleasant. Check out Dedo de Dios.

I´ve eaten here quite often and it always manages to provide straighforward seafood served in a simple way. Lovely views over the port and good friendly service.

My friend and I came to this restaurant initially as part of a day excursion we went on (https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g187472-d10799923-Reviews-Excursions_Gran_Canaria-Las_Palmas_de_Gran_Canaria_Gran_Canaria_Canary_Islands.html). We enjoyed the food (and the town of Agaete/Puerto de las Nieves) so much that we decided to have lunch there the next day, all the way from Las Palmas. We both went for fish for both days and because these were "catch of the day" type of fish that were fresh and tasty. The sea view was stunning and the service was good. It's a lovely humble family run restaurant. It was the first occasion for the both of us to taste the mojo sauces and we both liked them very much. I would recommend this restaurant and would come again if I ever go to Gran Canaria again.

We decided to eat on the front this evening and chose this restaurant. When we arrived we were sort of shown to our table. The waiter could not speak English was was having trouble in taking our order. Which is really not a problem usually but the service at this restaurant was appalling, the staff were surly even to the fact that to catch your attention I was poked in the side. The food was unimpressive and the sirloin steak was definitely not sirloin. The portion of chips was minuscule and the salad that we had ordered never arrived. We were so disappointed that we asked for the bill, and to our amazement they tried to overcharge us by 10 euros. We asked the English couple next to us for a menu to check the prices and the waiter came running over to say that we had had other dishes, which we had not. The waiter then started panicking and re-writing our bill. It was obvious that this was no mistake and he was just trying his luck. Wouldn't recommend and if you have to venture into this restaurant be careful of overcharging and surly staff.

Tropical beers, monkey nuts scattered onto the bar by the convivial owner, ordered fried rabbit (6 Euros) delicious, 2 more beers, more monkey nuts. Great atmosphere, both inside and out. The owner is a 'one off'. We left the bar to try another place but later wished that we had stayed longer and sampled more dishes + drinks. This is one bar that we will definitely visit again.

Their Mojo sauce was too garlicky and too vineagry. The asparagus really overcooked, probably from a tin. The waiter was rude and kept on having very heated conversations with the customers making it very unpleasant for us.
He also spilled my beer and did not even offer to replace it.
What a big mistake. Don't come here!

This cafetaria is inside the botanical garden of Agaete.
The coffee is excellent and there is a variety of cake with the coffee.
Prices are realy good and you will have e nice view in the botanical garden while enjoying your coffee break.
I love this place

On a day trip four of us stopped off here for lunch. We did have some problem with the translations (our problem!) but the food when it came was very good and large portions. Nice friendly atmosphere and especially good value for money. Would not hesitate to go back.
