Dined here as it was close to hotel. Pleasantly surprised by the charm, great service & delicious food.

This is my usual morning breakfast stop.
The breakfast burrito is easily 3 times larger, and much tastier and heartier, than any "fast food" breakfast burrito. Everything else on the menu is worth a look though too. Sunrise Bagel, Biscuits and Gravy, Rise and Shine Panini, Pancakes; all are worth trying.
They usually have an unflavored coffee and a flavored coffee on tap every day, the Highlander Grog on Friday is a local favorite, in addition to the usual espresso drinks, lattes, americanos, etc.
I'm usually in a hurry and I am in and out in 5 minutes or less.

Nice little place where all the locals eat....Much more about the food, but a good selection of drink options, to include a huge German beer selection!!!! Our motto is 'Nothing Fancy Just Great Food' and our staff that has over 225 years of combined experience works hard to make you feel at home!
Huge portions, great selection, super friendly owner. Yeah its dated but who cares! I had the Hammer Burger. It's like breakfast and lunch all together. Friend had the bacon cheeseburger. Both really good.

Sandwiches have a different from the normal flare which we like a lot. Partner enjoyed his Three Pigs and I had a Reuben. Both fresh excellent and served up with fries, We thought the prices were reasonable for the quality of the food. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. It would be a regular if we lived in the area. My ratings are based on my experience in that establishment - not compared to a high-end establishment where one would expect to pay more.

we like to look for local places to eat and not the usual fast food/chain stuff. We ate lunch here. Would give it and average review. Might go back, might not. Food was ok, nothing too special. Conveniently located downtown, close to Eisenhower museum.

Great service, quick and easy.
Reasonably priced. Friendly (but they do stare at strangers). But I think it's more about the fact we're from out of town.
Ordered a salad, came quickly and as ordered. Same as my wife.
Pleasant stop for us in a nice town.

We are a Historic Farmhouse that was built in 1888. Has served as a restaurant from the 1930's to the 1970's and again from the 1990's to currently. Various celebrities from President Dwight D and Mamie Eisenhower, Actor Jimmy Stewart, Big band eras musicians and Press Secretary Marlin Fitzwater.
A retail merchant suggested Mr. K's Farmhouse when he heard we were headed to Abilene for lunch. It's obvious the Farmhouse has had a stellar reputation in the past. My first impression was not positive. A pleasing ambiance is lacking, the exterior, interior and grounds look faded and in need of a facelift. Our server was there to take our order and nothing more. Our group of four all enjoyed our simple lunch fare and the lunch prices were a good value. And, the guys enjoyed perusing the old photographs on the wall of one of the dining rooms.

Ike's place does not look all that exciting from the outside, but inside is a different story. The servers were amazing. The prices reasonable. We all ordered salad and one was more delicious and fresh than the next. It was a very enjoyable dinner. Pours of wine and beer are very generous.
Great time had by all.

We were passing through Abilene and I can't pass up a real, local donut shop. This is a one-off shop that is family run and everything was very fresh. I snagged just-made glazed yeast donut (the test of a good shop) and a bear claw with cinnamon. Both had just been made within the hour and were so soft. Loved them both but will say that the bear claw was not entirely cooked through in the middle. It was still quite good. Places like this are too rare, so definitely try it.

We spent the morning visiting the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum. We wanted a comfortable restaurant where we could have a nice meal and relax. La Fiesta was perfect. The food was beautifully presented. The portions were huge. Best of all, the food was simply exceptional. We don't live in Kansas, but if we ever return, La Fiesta will be on our list of places to visit. Great lunch. Great atmosphere.
