Find out what Hungarian restaurants to try in Szentgotthard. Szentgotthárd is the westernmost town of Hungary. It is situated on the Rába River near the Austrian border, and is home to much of Hungary's small Slovene ethnic minority.

Qualität, Quantität und Preis sind okay. Die Zubereitung der Gerichte ist allerdings sehr fettreich. Vielleicht waren wir aber auch zuwenig fettresistent.

Large portions, far too large for individuals. Wasteful. That which was on the plate: Undistinguished. (Spansh olives in a Greek salad? Oh, come on. Cross the border into Austria. Buy the real thing.)And palpable disdain from the waitstaff, who never checked to see whether or not the food was to our liking, indeed after handing out the mains never dropped by the table at all. The four front-of-house staff huddled at the bar, checking their iPhones and admiring one another's piercings and tattoos and, no doubt, moaning about how unjust was the fate that had not yet called them to indie-film stardom in Budapest. Are you in Szentgotthárd, and hungry? Stay away from Café Corso.

In the last decade as many times as my way went to Ronok (in Hungarian: Rönök) direction I stopped here to eat a dinner or lunch. I never been disappointed!Food are delicious and fresh, lovely real Hungarian flavors, services fast even in Sunday lunch time (Sunday lunch time in Hungary all the good restaurants are full of guests! reservation needed!), and the place itself is not only a restaurant but they have shops with Hungarian products, tobacco shop and a garden with animals to see, it's fun to kids. The only this to improve is that waiters are not too friendly, they are OK, they are objective but we missed that they do not smile, not even to kids. If you are driving on this way and would like to eat a good lunch or dinner don't skip this place. Take away is possible (portions are huge). Prices are adjusted to the neighboring country (Austria) as they have many guests from there as well, but it was not expensive. Five of us spent about 40 Euros plus tip.

We visited the village with family for a week. We went there the frist evening and then kept going back regularly. The menu is mostly about the regional specialties (you can even buy a cookbok about them), like dödölle (potato-flour dumplings or similar), and pumpkin-poppy seed strudel. Cottage cheese dumpling is also excellent and works well for a main course if you tend to eat a bit less than the average. There's a small playground under the terrace so you can see the kids playing and there's a retired fire engine to climb onto.I want to go back!!!

Pajta "barn" Bistro and Event Services , Weddings
We went there for dinner without any expectations. What we experienced was more than what we expected. Nice owner that provided excellent service without overdoing it. Food was traditional, but on a different level and with innovative interpretation. Local food in great quality. To mention is that if you make resevation you can ask them to adapt to your diet what is always a plus.So wont be the last time we stopped by. Especially in summer it must be great to enjoy food on their outside seating area.
