Find out what Healthy restaurants to try in York. Just two hours north of London by rail, the city of York holds 1900 years' worth of history in its ancient walls. The Romans built the city in 71 AD, and the Vikings captured it in 866 AD. Stop by the Yorkshire Museum and Gardens for a look at what the Roman and Vikings left behind (they must have packed light when they left). From there, move on to the York Castle Museum for a not-so-quick overview of the most recent 400 years.

Luxury Deli style sandwiches, superfood salads and beautiful plant based desserts
Popped in as I saw an ice cream counter marked âveganâ so I couldnât resist!! I had three scoops of Northern Bloc ice cream and was yummy!! I had the choc orange, peanut butter and hazelnut. Although I didnât get food, the deli was full, which is always a good sign and all the food being served looked lovely. Healthy and delicious looking Sandwiches, salads and cakes galore!

Independent Coffee House & Kitchen serving Brunch, Lunch, Afternoon tea & Bistro-style candle lit suppers. Rustic music themed atmosphere with manuscripts lining the walls & friendly professional team. Fresh, fabulous, simple but delicious food all cooked
Cafe Concerto is something of a York institution, celebrating 25 years in the city. Itâs one of my favourite cafes but, I havenât been to York for a while so havenât been. When I arrived, I was delighted to see that it was just as good as ever with a lovely relaxed atmosphere and an extensive and imaginative menu. The breakfast choices looked really good but, as it was late morning when I visited, I couldnât resist the lemon curd cheesecake. The cheesecake was superb, light and tangy and combined with a delicious cappuccino, made for a great coffee and cake stop. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Recommended for food and drink in York. They are also open evenings too.

Home to some of Yorkâs fest slow-cooked meats, superfoods and vegetarian delights, Source offers a dining experience unlike any other in the city. This restaurant isnât just for the health-conscious, itâs also for any person who happens to love seriously
So much choice for veggies and vegans, I couldnât decide. Finally settled on the onion starter and vegan Camembert, followed by the beyond burger and vegan fried chicken. The Camembert was the tastiest, most realistic vegan cheese Iâve ever tried- I couldnât tell it wasnât real cheese! Also, I have wanted to try a Beyond burger for a long time, but havenât seen one in the UK, so I was excited to try it. This vegan meat alternative is perfect for anyone who once ate meat and is now veggie or vegan, as it tastes just like the real thing! Both of us really enjoyed our food. Service was quick and the staff were really friendly.I canât wait to visit again next time Iâm in York.
