We ordered a selection of food, including a soup with mixed meat, a beetroot and potato salad with cured fish, frozen sliced whiting fish, rabbit stew and salmon/halibut kebabs. All were amazing, plus 4 shots of vodka and a beer We got complimentary limoncello from the very helpful, friendly and smiling (a new experience for me so far in Russia!) staff. All that came to R2145. Not a cheap meal, but certainly a great one!The café itself is interesting, based around a blacksmith artist who looks a lot like Santa Claus!

This is a charming, casual restaurant across the street from the State Opera and Ballet theatre near Lenin Avenue. Itâs small, but uses the space comfortably. The menu offers everything dumpling, plus salads and soups â and deserts. They have a very good house wine, white or red. We ate a late lunch of ravioli with forest mushrooms and vereniki with cottage and special local cheese, the best choices for vegetarians; but the pelmeni looked quite good as well. The portions were large and both dishes were excellent. We tried three different sauces including two spicy ones and a special sour cream option.
